Gotta love a band that take their art seriously but not themselves. That drummer's stoic, motionless expression while he's going ham is comedy gold.
Well this comes from the band who has songs with lyrics like "bow down fairy, wish is wish". So not to much seriousness to begin with. 🤣
Its such a shame that the drummer left the band. But after 16 years he said it was time for a change..

The replacement also so far looks like he has alot of humor and fits into the group very well.
I really like seeing those guys together. Not only do they produce music that I enjoy alot, but they feel like a group of friends who enjoy what they do as well. Thats just awesome.
When you realise that one of the "eyecatcher" girls in the background is the mastermind behind of all those videos and choreographies we love.

If you look at some of their content, tourvideos and behind the scenes stuff, it feels like they really like each other, and respect each other as well. So to me I think they really appreciate what they are doing as well - they are part of the groups charm and feel on the stage as well, so it would be important to see them for what they are: part of the whole package.

I dont know if anybody ever has mentioned this, but their names are also hillarious:
Feuerschwanz (also the name of one of the singers) can be translated as fire-tail or, you know, fire-d*ck.
Prinz Hodenherz (wordplay on Löwenherz/Lionheart) means Prince Testicle-Heart.
Johanna von der Vögelweide is a wordplay on Walther von der Vogelweide, a famous german medieval singer but "vögeln" means literally to f***.
Jarne Hodinsson is a wordplay on Odinsson of course but basically means Testicle-son.
Sir Lanzeflott, sure is Lancelot but directly translated means "quick lance" and they dont mean the weapon.
Also Hans the Upright is a reference to sexual stamina.

The new drummers stage name will be Rollo H. Schönhaar. He rocks a good hairstyle. :-)

You asked how they came up with this cover...well...it was a Schnapsidee, a joke, from Ben and they asked the fans if they should realize this. And the response was overwhelming😁
"nosce te ipsum" "erkenne dich selbst" "recognize yourself" is written on the sheed of paper he recived as the Zauberwort/magic word to break the spell.....
The original Idea of the Black Metal version was when they made a little clip for the first online concert. The band did a Corona-correct version of pogo with very very big ballons and put themselves into them and did popo, safe version. The "soundtrack" to this was the Black Metal Version of Schubsetanz. It only exist like 30 seconds of this for this Clip, really as a joke and Ben always said he didn't want to do more but the fans loved it so much and wanted more so he finally gave in and they made a full version for the second online concert :)
How have I missed that??? That's hilarious! The original version is one of the favourite songs of the 8year old metalhead in this house. Feuerschwanz was his first concert when he was 6 years old 🤣
In the making of the "ding" video, it was explained, that they filmed some motions when the music was running in half speed. And than the film was speeded up to have some crisp and exact motions - may they were using the same trick with the drumsticks...

Feuerschwanz has been one of my favourite bands for years and I 100% love how much appreciation they get from you and how much you spread the love for them
I really like you German pronounciation. It is really good!
I kinda like the normal version more - it to me feels a bit more "fun" on the instrumental side.
But that doesn't mean this one isn't good or anything. Just preference. Still, it is cool that they try out stuff, why not, broaden your audience - since there are people that like his version better for sure.

@@KurtKn1sp3l I honestly don't get people who get upset if a song is recorded in a different way, or from a different band.
Sure, there are songs and covers that I think don't come close to reaching the quality of the original (Covers of Queen songs come to mind for me, I don't think there are many singers who come close to Freddy and his vocals). But just because another version exists doesn't mean the original version is gone, or suddenly worse than before - nothing changes in regards of this version after all. Just enjoy the one you are liking the most. You can also express your preference - I'd even encourage everyone to do so. But since that is a very subjective thing, you can and should respect everyone who has a different preference - and the other way around. None of them is "right" or "wrong". Because of that I simply don't understand why someone would attack a band, or a fan for liking a different version of a song. Everyone is entitled to enjoy what they like most, diversity in taste is a very good thing - art would get very boring if there would be only one thing regardless if it is drawing, movies, music or whatever. In general: everyone should do what they want and live their lives how they want, as long as this does not harm others.
For this song, they teased it in one of their online concerts during Covid (And I would recommend watching it, it is available on the Napalm Records youtube channel, just go ahead and search for 11oa). It was requested by fans that they release the full version. I don't know if they innitially wanted to release it, but regardless: they did, and its great that it is out there. For those fans.
I personally would love to see the heavier/metal version of "Latte" to be released as well, so far I've only heard it in the other online concert (That one is not on youtube as far as I know). I just have to wait and see.

When people think of metal they think everything in metal that exist is whats portrayed in the video and based of that reason i had to literally smile and laugh the whole time
between Feuerschwanz and Brothers of Metal, there is some creative folks out there.

For the Drumstick trick (not sure if it was mentioned already): To me it looks like he starts with the horizontal stick behind the vertical one and than uses it to press the other frontwards, downwards and then back towards his hand to "fixate" it (so he doesnt have to hold the vertical one between his fingers at all) ... yeah im fun at parties btw :D
Cool video. Knowing Feuerschwanz's sound I should have realized but I wasn't expecting symphonic black metal in the vein of Dimu Borgir or Cradle of Filth. I was expecting straight forward black metal. It was a very pleasant surprise.

I would say Schubsetanz is a reference to Moshpit. Because "Schubsen" is "pushing" and Tanz=Dance. But why they did a black metal version of that I do not know... sounds more aggressive though

Last week, after 1,5 years, I could finally go to a metal concert again - and I recognized, that I really missed it. There, I got a lot of "Schubsetanz", because the concert was featuring austrian thrashers Insanity Alert and spanish Thrash-Kings Crisix. I can highly recommend their newest single "World needs mosh", maybe this could be worth a reaction as well...

I saw you talking about diving deep into the rabbit hole of German medieval metal.
I grew up with German medieval metal. I can guarantee you that every single German medieval metal band like Saltatio Mortis, Feuerschwanz, Schandmaul, etc. will, if asked in an interview, tell you that the band that influenced them the most is „Subway To Sally“. Subway To Sally started it all about 32 years ago in Germany. They sing mostly in German and they have lyrically really beautiful vocals (i can provide you with translations if you want to). You won‘t be disappointed by their music.
There‘s even Subway To Sally songs featuring Saltatio Mortis or Feuerschwanz like Veitstanz (Vitus Dance) or Kleid aus Rosen (Dress Of Roses).

I remember hearing this version when it came out. It’s fantastic, and they clearly had an absolute blast making the video.
Also Tank, you absolutely have to react to Majestica - Metal United (the band of Tommy from Sabaton). For one thing it’s an awesome song. But the other reason is that they’ve done the song for people like you Tank. It’s basically a little tribute to the tech crews, lighting, roadies, stage builders etc for all their hard work, and because so many have been out of work during lockdown etc.
It’s also an anthem for metal fans about getting live rock and metal music back again. Check it out mate. 🙂🤘🏻

Had fun watching - it's so refreshing to see great musicianship paired with musician that don't take themselves too seriously, because that just happens way too often.
BTW, I feel like I gotta speak up for my fellow Germans. Why does everyone think we got no sense of humour? It may not be as much "on the nose" or biting black or just downright silly - but it is definitely there 🥰 What other reasons would you think there are that there are areas here where Carnival is like a fifth season and celebrated bigger than Christmas 😁

Feuerschwanz is truly creative. And, to me, good mood party music. I do prefer the original version, but they're doing decent black metal here.

About 10 days ago the Band "Pentakill" released their third Album "Lost Chapter".
Maybe you know about that, but if not, lemme explain, that one's a bit tricky.
"Pentakill" is a virtual Band by Riot Games, the creators of League of Legends and the Band are actual Champions from the Game.
So for a Reaction its a bit difficult, cause there are no Videos (so far) from their Songs, but there is a full virtual Concert (that was fully interactive).
But nontheless you should definitly check them out for yourself, cause man they did some bangers. For me "Redemption" is my favorit, but i have a feeling that you would like "Predator"

I absolutely love Pentakill, and their 3 albums (the last one is not that old) and I kinda like that Riot does this. It is not the only "band" they have for their game, all different kind of bands and styles of music. Also variety for fans.

The humor thing is pretty much all due to the language. English is a very messy language with a ton of inconsistencies so a lot of the humor is derived from using that for confusion ("a man walks into a bar, "ow that hurt"). German is much more structured so it's almost impossible to switch clauses or subjects halfway through a sentence or make more than a basic pun. So their humour is far more based on creating funny situations and on visual jokes. So an uptight english tourist once made a badly translated pun at a german, who just stared in confsion. The tourist went home and complained that nobody got his joke.
I respect everyone who tries to speak german. It is not an easy language for anyone who is not familiar to much with it.
Some jokes are possible to translate, but everything that is wordplay is VERY hard or impossible to translate into another language.
Since Feuerschwanz has alot of wordplay (and/or alot of innuendo) in their texts it is rather hard to get that part of their humor translated.

They're one of if not Germany's most notorious rap group, in the business for 20+ years by now, their lyric game is ridiculous, it's simply a blast.
Here are some of their greatest ones imo, maybe one peaks your interest:

"ich bin adolf hitler" (I'm adolf hitler)
"mehr als nur ein fan" (more than just a fan)

You should also check out Robert Randolph and the family band. He plays a steel guitar. Theu are a funk/jazz/R and B style band. They do a lot of live shows and never play the same songs the exact same way. Don't Change is my favorite song they sing.

Just as a preference about black metal "sounding like it recorded in a dumpster", there are SO many styles of bm these days. I know you know that, just liked to nag about it 🤣🤣
Anyhow, if you feel like getting a bit deeper into THAT rabbit hole, check out Schammasch and songs like "Metanoia", "Ego Sum Omega", or "Golden Light". Then there's ColdCell and their latest album "The Greater Evil" that was just amazing. MEPHORASH from Sweden is also one my faves in recent years and tracks like "King of Kings, Lord of Lords" or "Sanquinem" are worth of checking out. Some others to recommend could be KRIEGSMASCINE, Thron, Carach Angren, Laster, Temple Koludra, Voices, Kaleikr......and so many more.

Any link to the twitch reaction of the original on twitch? I like that better than the Black Metal version as well. This one is fine, but it is mainly working because it is such a subversion of the original soundtrack
The audio got muted on it, and when I tried to upload it to CZcams, it got blocked.
@@TankTheTech Strange. This black metal version is on the Napalm Records channel, while the original version is on the band's channel, maybe that has something to do with it. The band (if you have contacts) could perhaps (?) help with getting it unblocked on CZcams, I didn't get the impression that they're averse to publicity from reactions.
@@TankTheTech It's a different record label/distributor, the Methämmer album and older is not Napalm Records. I'll check with our former label if they could remove the restriction.

i dont know, i love feuerschwanz and life they are awesome, but i kind of dont like their black metal versions, but ok i dont like black metal so much anyway
They only have the one, and it probably is a one of a kind side thing. It actually started as joke on the bands side, and only after a lot of clamoring by the fans did they make the full production.
