Wow, this is one of the most detailed map videos I've ever seen, great work!
This is the most detailed video about the war! Good job!
Why did Argentina take the islands but send NO ships to defend it?

Very good video,i love the Detail of Leith Harbour (i believe) being part of the Argentine zone on the 2nd April,if i'm not wrong a group of Argentine Marine Corps (the section of Alfredo Astiz) land on the port the 19th of March, idk if the British goverment notice this but anyway it shows that before of April were Tensions Around the Georgias
I grew up on a farm in the Falkands and was a child during the war, the platoon commander on the mountain (our farm was considered a possible landing zone) would come to the farm to listen to the British news on the wireless, as he knew his Superiors were lying to them, one day he turned to Dad and said, "Well, Mr. Watson, I think we might be screwed." Half of the recruits thought they were heading to southern Argentina for training exercises and the other half thought they would be greeted with open arms as a liberating army, they honestly didn't know what to think when they found out they were the invaders terrorizing a small farming community.
The invasors are you in Argentine territory
@@ikaikaviajes3344 And you are the invaders in indigenous indian territory now called Argentina
@@mariacornwallis1602 i prefer be a son of a indian, taht a son of a PIRATE
@@ikaikaviajes3344 The trouble with your argument is that all the indians were killed off by the Spanish invaders... There was no population on the Falkland Islands when the British arrived.... So the British were not invaders, they were peaceful settlers on an uninhabited land, not like your forefathers who committed genocide.
@@ikaikaviajes3344 don’t you mean Spanish territory?
It’s never Argentinian after all.

Proof that good triumphs over evil
At the time, the British armed forces were led by a general who had fought in Normandy against the Wehrmacht, an admiral who had fought in the Battle of the North Cape, and a chief air marshal who had been over Berlin ten times in Lancaster. led by an admiral as chief of staff who had been in the Maltese convoys. It's hard to think of a more foolish decision than to fight men like that, who were ultimately backed by politicians.
Having said all that the Argntine commanders did have some experience in shooting demonstrators, trade unionists and communists; and dropping 30,000 argentine civilians from a helicopter into the Atlantic Ocean.... But nobody who could fight back
Argentinian logic:
Kicking out brits - good
Kicking out spaniards - bad

Hello
Protect the sheep from Argentina.

The good guys? Lol
Boo Land Argentina invaded the islands without provocation. The United Kingdom was merely defending territory internationally recognised as theirs. The islanders themselves saw the British, not the Argentines, as liberators. I think we can safely assume that, in this particular conflict at least, Britain was the 'good guy'.
MrSquidman007 pfftttt if that means they are the good guys, its the first time it happens to them since they always invaded tiny kingdoms
Boo Land It merely means that in this instance the Argentina Republic instigated a military invasion of another countries sovereign territory. Whatever country that could have been, Argentina would have been the aggressor. The United Kingdom's many abhorrent actions in the past is not reason to profess that they cannot themselves be victims of the same.
Robalot39 I get your point, but it doesn't mean that the good guys won since its war
I am not one to want to simplify war into good and bad as it so rarely is. However due to the islanders wish to remain British subjects then personally I feel the war ended favourably although it is terrible and unfortunate that a war occurred at all.
UK had more than 1000 dead in the war.
@@mark_huisjes then why there is a secret about this from UK goverment? It is hard to reconize that a country like Argentina cuold win the war if the OTAN would not help UK. We fought without help anda no soldiers of fortune.

@The oregonian person tierras pertenecíentes al imperio español.
