90s and 2000s was the golden era. Tons of diversity and personality in every signature release and tons of bulky, loud sneakers. I’d say 2010s is when things slowly started dying and everything slowly just started looking more and more like a Kobe. Feels like nobody has made a high top since.
You’re right! Because after the late 00s coming into early 2010s lifestyle and retro sneakers went through a dark phase so that’s why Nike signature bball kicks took over in the early 2010s because the retro and lifestyle kicks had a slight falloff, so it was Nike bball time to shine and that they did
Nah that’s facts KDs were also the BEST hooping shoe for streetball. my post moves became unguardable when I had those on they literally just give you way more leverage than anyone around you
used to rock a pair of lebron 9 south beaches and a pair of black rosche runs for every day throughout the entirety of middle school. i still miss those lebrons those were so so nice.
Early 2010s Nike Basketball was a moment in time that can’t be replicated or recaptured definitely was an underrated. And my only thing with the KD 4-6 was the colorways in which they were dope but a lot of em were hard to pull off with fits and a lot of the colorways were juvenile and kiddie like, that’s why they were more popular with the youth than the older crowd.
"Hype culture" and "Hype beast" have been around as early as 1999. Who do you think made this craze a phenomenon? Sure wasn't people like me who had a lot of this stuff when it initially came out, and didn't understand why kids wanted the shoes I wore in junior high.
Late 90's/2000's was the golden era for sneakers. Look at the AF1 releases from back then NYC's, Chi Town, West Indies, Valentines, HTM's, stash, laser pack. Premiums with real leather that was amazing quality. Bapestas and TN's were everywhere. Reebok G unit and everyone wanted a pair of Prada American cups
Peak late-elementary to middle school for me.Kids was wearing KDs,Brons,Kobe and I think Kyrie might have even caught on right before I went to high school
The Roshe Runs are actually so crazy to me, people were obsessed with this shoe back in the day. And don't get me wrong, its a clean shoe, but its nothing special for how people were tripping over themselves to get some back then. I think what killed these though was the ultra boost and then the 350s, shoes that also had that clean minimal style while being comfortable and having hype behind them. I was always a LeBron guy though, the like 10-14 time was great, I still love my 12s especially. It was cool when so many different actual basketball shoes were the fashion of the time, but also I think that was a very early 2010s thing and it makes sense why its not like that anymore
I was in middle school and a freshmen in that era. Definitely wasn’t the “golden age” and hypebeasts were definitely around. People called me a hypebeast, even though I was never into the high-performance basketball shoes (at least rocking them casually). I will say the kids in that era were definitely a lot bolder in their style choices than now.
This is crazy I remember all this I was in middle school when all these shoes came out I was broke and wearing flights glad to say I have most of these shoes now
True og moment. I remember when I got the what the lebron 10s off ali express and wore em to I think it was 6th grade. And a fuckin kid had the real pair and everyone was wondering who’s were real or fake and trust me boi I was never seen in em again.
You don't see them anymore cause 1 people don't wear BASKETBALL shoes not playing basketball, 2 the prices have skyrocketed, and 3 it just doesn't look good in a fit
The Christmas sneakers year round is such a fact 😂😂
