I remember when I got my gear for the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid. Nothing compared to what you got though. I did a lot of trading of gear with competitors. Got a great CCCP sweat suit in trade.

Two fancy suits and outfit from Ralph Lauren are for, latest Samsung cell phones are given to each Olympians on top of custom watches and 4 pairs of quality shows. (They are mandated to wear only Nike except the shows it's optional).

These days,it is very hot in Japan. So, we need to some measures such as drinking water and wearing well-ventilated clothes in order to avoid heatstroke. Good luck!

Just curious about this question in my mind.
How do US athletes manage their life after retirement ? Like I m talking about those who aren't popular athletes but compete at world championships and Olympics unlike Woods/Jordan/Michael Phelps or Simon Biles.
How is their quality of life once they get retired ? Do most of them start living a middle class life with respect to USA standards ? If not then what are the opportunities after retirement for them ?

@@RudraSingh-pb5ls I'm going to take a guess and say it depends. Just like celebrities. Some fall through the cracks and go on to have a normal life others just work behind the scenes or probably open their own study to train other athletes.

@bigcatfb the East Africans are incredible, but their dominance primarily begins at 1500 and up. At the moment, team USA appears to have the strongest 800m squad. It was really unfortunate to see Brazier fall from such a strong stretch of racing, but I like the whole US lineup as is

No you are not crazy. I worked for Nike pre-pandemic. That is a proprietary fabric invented by Nike that wicks and cools. Yes, they have differnt t shirts, made with different fabrics. They did a great job with the Team USA uniforms, Really nice.

Oh, wow! I gave myself a couple of weeks to acclimate. And I stayed in a hotel and not a village.
Did you compete in the Olympics then?

@@AlexM-hm2wb Yes. More than once but not for the US. Middle distance. Many of the women I competed against I made lifelong relationships with. Several are over 70 now. One turns 71 on the 29th and I talk to her several times a year even though we live in separate nations. I learned to speak many languages since I was a kid. I have been a runner all my life.

I’m pretty sure Samsung sponsored the olympics in general, so all athletes not just USA. Separately, Apple doesn’t do sponsorships like that anyway.

What was the watch trying to find it
I heard that you have to be able to pay an entrance fee of like 10k when trying to go to the Olympics (not sure what part of the process that is). At least, that's what people have told me is the case for olympic snowboarding. If so, you end up paying for all the free stuff with the entrance fee (or maybe your sponsors do)...idk.
