Like Virgil said fashion is the greatest scam people paid hundred for Levi’s jeans with two stains on it ngl it’s sounds crazy to me
exactly this
people paid thousands for levi's jeans with fucking leather crosses
Oscar Wilde said fashion is so ugly they need to change it twice every year
They paid to be apart of the movement and community. It wasn’t meant to be worn just as clothing
Isn't that the point of fashion status gatekeeping
I see the rise but not the fall. 2023 the brand is still strong...
rappers and social media influencers burn out everything, the world is getting smaller and subcultures are less distinct
You hit the nail on the head lol
Ding ding.
They want that
yup, i miss when only "nerds" used the internet, now its all ruined, gaming, resale, everything
Great point
i taught myself how to sew so i could steal gallery's pattern and make a pair of flared 501s for myself. fuck their price tag, but i think thats why they were successful in their "recycle" ethos too, jesse's tailoring basically started up a trend again. Rappers that could afford it burnt it the fuck out really quickly but those that couldnt were inspired to make their own. and people that were suprised gallery uses levis and painted over the tags completely missed the point lmao
But the designs be TRASHH so its a L 😂
Well said bro
Exactly what I’m trying to do, make my own clothes and avoid buying such expensive things
Should’ve been ahead of the trend buddy. They use to be $395 😅.
The people that missed the point were never his target audience. He never intended for his brand to be so disgustingly main stream but it’s better to have that problem instead of being a brand barely able to make a living from.
Well, Virgil started Pyrex with discontinued Polo flannels so there’s that.
You never know what your domino will be so this isn’t a failure, it’s just a stepping stone and good on them commanding such an outrageous price point. Art is art at the end of the day.
I actually did recite this video word for word bar for bar on a date but for some reason my date disappeared and Non other than Rick Owens himself appeared wearing flared dept gallery sweats. Pretty insane.
actually goated
Happened to my buddy Mike
The price of Gallery Dept is crazy knowing it’s really Levis
I’m sorry but how could anyone not see a brand that is literally based on one trendy piece not falling quickly from grace
one of life's greatest mysteries..
@@fhtv even a brand like chrome had a following before based on quality jewelry and their brand will live on for years after it dies completely as a trend. Amiri will be out of business in the next 10 years
@@levicohen7333 i agree not a big fan of amiri
I know these brands always cuz they all look generic
True
Gallery isn’t going anywhere there’s a million brands in the world If you don’t like it don’t buy it and keep it pushing 🤷🏾♂️💯
It’s really not 😂 gallery tuff
just wanted to congratulate you on getting my nephew ian conner to delete his tweets
we do not take L's 🥂
@@fhtv as a former Ian Connor groupie I’d like to know the context to this
@@ciko7064 ian accidentally sent someone $120, he asked for it back on twitter, i called him broke, he quote tweeted me, i quote tweeted him with a crying kitten gif, i ratio'd him & he deleted his tweets
@@fhtv that’s fried. He’s a silly goose
@@fhtv i bitched him on twittee baxk in 2014 ever since Asap rocky came out i hated fashion
I mean it is crazy that all it was was just vintage repurposed items but at the same time the concept was fire. At least to me, I think it’s just kinda cringe to hate on new clothing brands actually putting their ideas out and becoming successful. Gucci and Louis Vuitton have been around for so long it’s time for the new. Not their fault it blew up at the end of the day. Maybe put in this energy to creating your own brand too
So you literally “cringe” every time you read, hear or see someone hating?
@@contradataxman2991 lol make what you said make sense. So you agree with hating? 🤣 all I said was it’s cringe to hate on new brands, especially ones becoming successful
You know the FH man back with some consistency I appreciate that. Always good videos
thank you!
The problem with a brand like this is that they'd never be able to scale to anything beyond a very niche market. When you're relying on sourcing a certain era of a certain style of a certain brand of jeans then manually reworking each pair, it's literally impossible to scale to do volume and get your price point down. This is all fine when your brand is hot and consistent with what high fashion is wearing, but completely falls apart when trends change and you can't command the same price tag. Flared denim with males NEVER sticks around long term through the course of history.
Funny u say that cause if a rapper brought back true religion jeans I’m sure they sell more then they do now
@@Skinner90210 but he’s talking about a cut of jeans… where I live all the the houseless people are rockin the trues everybody threw away 7 or 8 years ago and so I don’t see that shift happening for a bit .
You make an excellent point! 😅why do flare denim always come back ha . I was a teen in the 2000s and I remember, especially for women , everything was flared early 00s and we didn’t actually want that , I was constantly tailoring my own jeans on the leg opening , all of my guy friends too , and brought my sewing machine to high school a few days and did it for 5 bucks ha
Well clearly you were wrong… because the brand is doing amazingly well and can’t keep $965 sweats in-stock at all!
@@EllsX76 I guess you didn't notice that my comment was from a year ago. The reason they're doing well now is because they pivoted their business model into mostly making machine made items in bulk at factories. If you look at their website, only a very small percentage of their items are still starting out as repurposed vintage garments and hand decorated. Back then, that's pretty much all they did and something like 80% of their business was from jeans that started out as vintage Levi's, had to be manually re-sewn to change the cuff cut, then were hand decorated. I was actually spot on with my prediction because they did announce they were shutting down, only to pop back up shortly after with this new business model. Without making that change, they wouldn't have made it.
Honestly, I feel as Josue keeping creative integrity within himself, he saw where the brand was going and end up leaving to pursue his house label to keep true to his creative mind
I like his idea. Gallery dept probably doesn’t scale to the average consumer and most consumers in that price range are probably buying other brands with increased versatility.
Mr. Hopsin on fireeeee with the uploads
Can't wait for your next videos already
I love u FH , thank you for existing and making bomb contents
yo fh Im a junior in highschool and I just started a fashion club your videos are gonna one of my main ways of educating club members and getting more people into fashion ty for making such great content :)

🤢🤢🤢 why would u want everyone dressing like you in school gunna play out ya own drip
2 new FH TV videos in one month??? what a time to be alive ong
People hating on gallery but that’s all I’ve been seeing people wear and other brands copying. Big W for Josue and he bowed out gracefully
Great video as always
Good research, but they never fell off. The Miami store is making insane money.
It’s actually just catching up . All my clients want is fake gallery 😅$$$$$ I luv it
I LOVE HOPSIN SO MUCH
c’est un vidéo excellent 🐐 🔥
Dude saw the paint splattered Margielas and started a business.
Wow yo. Thanks for this vid. Jus when i got hip to it, u state its out of business. Very informal video tho
I like how I get a Levi's ad right when the vid finishes loll
Is flared demin a fancy name for boot cut?
I got hella gallery dept. don’t care where they got the jeans from. I knew all these pieces were like art paintings. Now everything that I have is sold out everywhere and the prices are through the roof.
You are now own me financial compensation for making me watch entire video about the Migos. My lawyer will be in contact with you soon.
erm.. more
like u owe me buddy
What I love is that everyone nowadays can have a spot anywhere. Even people with no talent, no taste who make splatters on old clothes and call it art. What a time to be alive.
That’s crazy this vid comes up right after my gallery dept hoodie came in today lmao
love you rager
ilysm
This is worth staying in for my break for an extra 10 minutes
ur so real for that
U jus like me
These fashion labels are testing their customer's stupidity, I saw a balenciaga workman's Jacket that you see security guards wearing for over a grand.
Facts
honestly never really knew about this brand. I’ve heard of it before, but after this explanation, I really respect what Josué set out to do with Gallery Dept. defo a guy to add to my fashion radar. I’ve been looking to get into making my own shit as well and this video inspires me to pursue that. gonna buy myself a sewing machine when I have the money.
that is really great to hear! and yeah oftentimes the popularity of a given brand can overshadow the creative director's message. i wish you luck with your creative endeavours!
hell yeah man, it’s easier than you’d think once you get over the hump of figuring out how the machine works
dont, fashion and clothing brands is an oversaturated industry. Be different
good to hear ur voice papi
Ah yes, just what I needed. My fine dosage of internet fashion talks from FH TV.
so when did gallery dept fall off
Whats good hopsin fans
is that beneath the mask in the background? I love it.
Already know this is a hit
love to see more FHTV. god bless
hahah the mnml flares blow up like crazy, may cop; may not

Babe wake up new FHTV video
Good content I never knew this
They had Levi jeans cut up for 1100 I almost got em till I seen the Levi signed them I realize they take other clothes and custom em
Gallery dept is a 🔥brand
whats the song in the background near the end of the vid?
i believe that it is final fantasy VIII - roses and wine OST
The biggest problem with designer clothes is when they make gilidan prints that are easily replicated... lol
That’s why there to make their own Shirts
guys wake up, daddy posted
I’ve made big purchases like LV gear chrome hearts 600$+ but the need to pay 600 for 2 words and paint splatter is crazy. At least my chrome got designs and LV made by Virgil
facts
You wasted your money
chrome hearts might have the worst quality out of all designers

What’s your opinion on Imran Potato and what he’s doing?
i think its pretty interesting, i havent
kept up w/ his stuff too too much but i would consider myself a casual fan
I knew it was something going on especially with the inflated prices and them shutting orders down
Fall!? This brand is still being worn by tons of celebrities
And Levi’s feel like sandpaper 😂😂😂😂
What fall they prices are still high
These guys just built a brand around one element of early Helmut Lang.
Good video but I don’t know if you have seen they make so many more pieces nowadays than the pants you should look into more they are far from just pants
Fall ?
HOT TAKE :The problem is that the same people that make it popular also kill it, let’s be honest when a brand makes it to the hood, People who don’t know themselves and want to feel like someone end up buying clothes like this and they overdue it/ make it look dirty. For people in the hood, we have seen people wear the same designer shirt a bunch of times and not carry themselves to the same standard of the clothes and it makes the clothes look dirty (Look at the guy who got killed trying to hurt the corner store owner in NYC with a fake Amiri Shirt. Plus those people don’t know how to put pieces together, They just buy it for the name to impress others & kids this year bought out all The Gallery department pieces so it got saturated like how my people killed Purple denim, Alexander McQueen, Vlone, Amiri and etc. This has to do with a lot of fashion brands only going for cash grabs and low hanging fruit that someone who just wants to feel like money when they have none goes to get their stuff. Raising the prices won’t help either, The pieces need to be limited and for the culture
Facts like true religion , it died because to many dirty people started wearing it !
This is an extremely bigoted content 🤦🏾♂️. Don't nobody around the hood besides dope boys wear trendy designer shit and they def don't wear it often .. it's jus the fact that once it's hot it's going downhill afterwards
you hate yourself. this might be the most brain dead comment on the internet. black people don’t even make a dent in sales, the people that are influenced by pop culture are white surbaban kids who can afford it
Exactly! I’m a designer and I make limited pieces for that reason!!!!!
sunny v2 cosplay 😭
they took advantage of the vintage hype/ designer hype
2024 and its still big as ever..
If the clothes is made by josue then it’s fuego - Roc Marciano
they don’t know Roc was the one really on it early. MT. MARCI
@@Olmarleymar facts. Found it funny to see no mention of him in this. Before migos and all the other bullshit Roc bigged up gallery early
I’m not going to lie when I first seen gallery Department I never really was a fan because I had already known that it was reworked Levi’s but honestly never took time to really see the brand and understand the creative process of what they were trying to achieve but at the end of this I have a lot more respect for them But this is yet another example of why I don’t follow the trends wear what you like and if you’re gonna wear it for multiple seasons then buy it if not fuck it

Me, your standard self-made billionaire, can, of course, relate,
,
I tell my kids stick to Levi’s and polo cause they will be around while these new brands rise and fall
so much sarcasm 😂
I knew it was reworked Levi’s. 2nd I have only ever bought clothes I like never for a trend . so and season or not I’m wearing my clothes for years to come
your Ss are to sharp bro an its kinda distracting id suggest an audio program such as audacity or bandlab they have plugins built in for that an they are free
Virgil said- Buy more books
Gallery Dept is modern day Miskeen.
It seems like they didn't go out of business. Is Josue still involved with Gallery Dept?
yep like i said it's all sort of up in the air still
Yeah he’s still there. He changed his mind I guess.
3:25??? 👀
They are still in business lol the “sold out “ was a campaign for there new sold out T shirt the brand is still poppin
tell me y bro formally quit the brand, the website hasn't been updated, their instagram hasn't been updated, and they haven't announced anything new publicly
