The first five minutes of DRP's life. This video was taken a few minutes after my son was born. It shows the skillful and efficient method used by the attending nurse to measure, weigh, and clear the nose and throat of my beautiful newborn baby, moments after being born. When I uploaded this video, I had no idea this little bundle of joy would reach so many people and be viewed so many times. I'm so glad I recorded this, and I'm glad to share the beauty of this moment that was one of the most beautiful and joyful of my life.

I couldn't resist when I had mine to hold but kept him longer with me by talking to my baby and singing to my daughter. I did the same to my son. I felt they both deserved the extra time to bond which I believe I did.

omg no rest, that doctor/ midwife saying, "get you wrapped up they want me over there for an emergency C section". Literally just delivered one baby and now she has to perform another with no break.
I saw the previouus video of this little chap. Just what is it about some nurses (hopefully only a few) that they think it's ok to handle a baby in this way. . I really felt appalled at the way this baby was handled both in this video and the first one. This is a precious newborn human being. His first encounter with this world should be gentle and respectful.

As long as it's in the womb, it's not yet a baby or person.

Nurses and doctors always seem so rough handling babies
Well it’s not their babies. They’re just trying to get their job done as soon as possible. Parents can take time being gentle and all after they leave the hospital. But hospital workers don’t have time to be gentle or slow with each baby. You haven’t seen them doing surgeries I guess. They do treat every patient so roughly like they’re just a piece of cloth not human beings.

@@happyemoji6553 Doing surgery is a COMPLETELY different matter. With surgery anaesthesia is involved and there may be other particular factors in relations to the patient's health which makes working quickly but efficiently important. The way that baby was being handled was disgraceful. It was human being not a piece of meat. Just because it happens doesn't make it right.

Hay bebés muy llorones y no les están haciendo nada malo.Además las enfermeras tienen poco tiempo.son muchos nacimientos en un hospital..y ellas no pueden quedarse a estar acariciando bebes eso es oficio de la madre...A las enfermeras también las regañan si no se dan prisa. .Entiendan eso...Lo importante es que hacen su trabajo.hay que ser agradecidos con el personal médico..por favor..

charge exorbitant bills for both mother and newborn. The newborn is already
charged a bill, he or she should be afforded gentle care not physical abuse and cruelty as his first experience of the world.

The reason he's on his stomach, I believe, is to help him clear the fluid from the back of his throat, and so the nurse can listen for fluid in his lungs.

Why most of nurses are cruel and heartless?
I mean I'm not saying there is a reason to be that rough, but a lot of nurses can get desensitized and less caring towards people because they go through so much, seeing people they cared for dying, cleaning up after patients messes, dealing with angry patience and grieving people while expected to smile and be friendly. No reason to treat people or babies badly but some nurses may try to not care as much about others bc it can be a traumatizing job looking after and caring for people, just for them to die infront of you over again for years, would take a toll on most people, that's why so many develop mental health issues or commit suicide, numbing yourself and getting use to death and not forming attachments would be how you can continue the job, that could be what makes people appear or be more heartless, lack of caring making them more robotic or even careless. Takes very special and strong people to be a good nurse and I appreciate them a lot, like good teachers able to deal with annoying students and be calm, I can't imagine being one

You can.work quickly but you do NOT have to be rough like that. I worked in care for 30 years. That is no way to handle an infant. It was sppalling.
