    Makes a ton of sense, thanks! As a clinician, I’ve been considering taking an FRS course, but have had a hard time finding a ton of useful information that would give me a general conceptual understanding of material presented. This was really helpful!

    So happy to meet you! This was very clear and nice.
    So i was wondering, how do you know what kind of “work sets” you should apply of PAILS/ RAILS and CAR’s like in time under teansion, and sets, and repetitions?
    Keep the good work up!

    • @AlexMurphy.
      @AlexMurphy.  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi there! Thanks so much for the question/comment! Regarding programming PAILs/RAILs and CARs for sets, reps, and time under tension - it all depends on the desired outcome or goal!
      If you check out an example of how this may be applied, check out this free class where we use PAILs/RAILs, and CARs for the hip joint: czcams.com/video/FMXRyxbFZDY/video.html
      Hope that helps!

  • @kevinhejj
    @kevinhejj Před měsícem +1

    When should I do this? Before a gym session or after, or maybe on a day with only PAILsRAILs ?

    • @AlexMurphy.
      @AlexMurphy.  Před měsícem +1

      Hi Kevin! Thanks for the question. In terms of when (and how) you apply isometrics like PAILs/RAILs, there really ins't a "one size fits" all answer. Or, in this case, a "one time fits all". When/where we program these and with what parameters (length, intensity, etc.) all depends on the desired goal or outcome as well as many other things like what other physical demands that person has in their day or training. Ultimately they can be implemented before, during, or after gym sessions in addition to on their own day. The question or which option is best for YOU is not one I can answer without knowing you and having more information. I hope that makes sense!

    Love your knowledge and passion for your work Alex!
    I have plantar fasciitis just recently, how can I use PAILs and RAILs method to fix it. Thank you!

    • @AlexMurphy.
      @AlexMurphy.  Před rokem

      Hello! Thank you! I can't say what you need to do to fix any injury without assessing you. How we approach an injury is informed by what the assessment findings are for that individual as this tells us what needs attention. Sometimes we need to work on big toe extension (I have videos on big toe extension work on this channel), sometimes we have findings in the achilles which is intimately connected to the plantarfascia, amongst other things. As much as social medial likes to over simplify things and say "here are 3 exercises to fix plantar fascitis" it doesn't actually work that way as there are different variables or findings at play for different people. Sometimes we get lucky and it works, but often it doesn't. So, I really can't tell you how to fix your injury! I hope that makes sense!

    • @Jingoor
      @Jingoor Před rokem +1

      @@AlexMurphy. yes, it does make total sense. As I don’t have pain in my achilles or any sharp pain in the ball of my foot. But I am experiencing a very localized pain in the inside part of the heel. I have been trying to learn more and more about our bodies own natural way of healing which is so amazing and how it reflects what and how we use any exercise or program to get what we want out of it and it’s not always fun. Again I am very excited to watch and learn from your videos. Do you work one on one and what’s the process? Thanks again!❤️

    wud Pails nd rails be helpful in cervical disc herniation ?

    • @AlexMurphy.
      @AlexMurphy.  Před 2 lety +1

      They can absolutely be helpful in the rehabilitation process yes! We use different “levels” of PAILs/RAILs” and we would need to assess them to scale the isometrics to meet them where they’re currently at (for example, it may be very light PAILs only). The assessment would tell us what that specific person would benefit from at that specific time.
