Can someone give me backstory on this dude? Im only just hearing about him and by god he sounds metal as hell.
Unfortunately there's not much to tell at least from the games perspective.
Hes only officially canon in 2 and 2 remake I think. Everything else he's in is like Raid Mode, and the Mercenaries.
He's like the Boba Fett of RE, but cooler because he doesn't get punked in 3 seconds.
@@solethunder111 he doesn't have much history, he apears in Residen Evil 2 as an extra level. He is an assassin which was hired by umbrella to along with a squad to recover samples of the virus but there was an error and birkin used the sample in kill the squad and forcing hunk to escape, the extra level is based on him escaping from racoon city while requesting a helicopter extraction. It is not playable in other Residents but it is explained that it continues to work for umbrella.
@@solethunder111 For a little bit more context on top of what everyone else has answered with. His name HUNK is actually an acronym code name (alongside his nickname The Reaper) short for "Human Unit Never Killed" Because no matter what mission or task he is given, He always completes it and comes back alive even if the rest of his squad dies. He's very apathetic and only cares about the mission objective at hand.
HUNK, one of the most badass characters in gaming history and we don't even need to see his face!

See, Looming Dread doesn't refer to the feeling Hunk has during the mission, its referring to how all the BOWs and zombies feel upon realizing how fucked they all are.

Honestly, HUNK definitely fits Adrian Shepard from Half Life Opposing Force more than Doomguy.
In a military unit, wears a gas mask, cares about his teammates, single determined mindset to get the hell out of there (Both protagonists are trying to escape, but Doomguy is there to eradicate). Also, like Shepard, he's almost always the last of his unit to survive

I'd say that he fits Mobile Task Force Unit Epsilon 11 designated Nine Tailed Fox from SCP: Containment Breach as well. Soldiers working for a secret scientific organisation, pure badasses, and the uniform.

a strange portal opens up in racoon city, unkown by all by the most highest of umbrella's brass. with strange creatures that have some potential for bio-weoponry coming out and attacking everything - fleeing from a lone slayer as he rips and tears
umnrella sends HUNK in to terminate the creatures so they can extract them for research. HUNK loads his SMG and exits the chopper

Hunk is fucking badass , RE2 remake didn't give him justice !, his gameplay was just like Leon and Claire gameplay , Hunk was already a badass trained soldier in RE2 , his gameplay should have include melee moves and fast shoots
When zombies were stunned they should have added the ability to snap their neck. That's what I was expecting anyway.
