  • A jury has found white Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke guilty of second-degree murder and multiple counts of aggravated battery in the 2014 shooting death of black teenager Laquan McDonald. The verdict was announced Friday.

    I got 8 years for possession of a fire arm. I never had a fire arm, they never found one no witnesses. Looking at this video makes me so mad they only got 15 years for killing someone innocent

    Each of these officers, their supervisor and the mayor should all be held accountable, suing them through their police department, their union as well as them selves personally.
    If you don't cause harm to them personally and financially nothing is ever going to change.
    The same goes for D.A.'s, Judges, and Politicians. They must be accountable to the law of the land.

      The police need to add a mental and personality test to their application forms prior to their candidates applying to the police force. It is obvious that there is not enough tests done to prove their candidates abilities to be enforcers of the law. Whawhakia T

      Watch the documentary 16 shots. He ended up getting 6 months because the judge changed his mind on the day of sentencing and didn’t charge him per shot! Sad and unfair!

      LM Mayberry on the documentary that I watched called 16 shots, the judge decided to only give the officer 6 months. The judge wouldn’t count each bullet per charge, but still, 6 months for a life is a joke!!! The documentary is on Netflix.

Furthermore, the juror reading out "guilty of aggravated battery" on every shot is ridiculous. After the first shot that put the boy down, every shot after that was racially motivated and should've been nmore than "aggravated battery".

He wasn't afraid to sacrifice what everyone else thought of him and his career to do it in a bold way. It made people talk about him at the time, but it certainly opened the door to more talks on this kind of violence. They had something to prove before he used his platform. Everyone complaining about disrespecting a flag, what about the disrespect showed to the people who go through these horrid situations, who either live to talk about it or don't. DIDN'T GET OUT OF THE CULTISAC BEFORE 2 OFFICERS PULLED ME OVER AT THAT TIME I WAS 64 YEARS OLD, 160 POUNDS YET THESE OFFICERS WALKED UP TO MY CAR, HANDS ON HOLSTERED WEAPONS AND ID ME. SHOOKED ME. LESSON, AS A BLACK MAN IN THIS COUNTRY, ALL IT TAKES TO DIE , BE AT THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME.
