    On your fry box, I would suggest making a slight curve on the inside 90deg corners. Over time, it will aid in helping clean the box. Your already going to be fighting the somewhat rough texture a 3d print has so making things as easy to keep clean as possible helps in the long run.

    On the note of the fry boxes being 3D printed, I wonder if you'd be able to get the design patented and then simply make the files available for purchase/download? Then if its patented, nobody will be able to steal and mass produce your design, but if someone has/has access to a 3D printer and wants to try out the design at their own risk, they could do so at potentially a much lower cost. Also, if you get access to injection molding, that seems to be a pretty reliable means of manufacture.

I also figure that white with light shining on it might be disorienting for fry- light from all directions. So I switched to a light grey.

    Corys on sand comment 2,345,123 :) Did you notice how your sterbaii were grazing on your matten filter? Through my observation I have surmised that they do this grazing as feeding behavior and if lacking a proper soft substrate on which to graze will find other sources of grazing areas such as a matten filter or even the sides of the tank. Pretty sure microfauna is a key component of their wild diet. My two cents.
    With regard to the breeding box splash issue. Perhaps a raised lip, or splash guard, on the outer edge of the lift tube output would be helpful to reduce the minor splash that you are concerned with? I noticed that even with your recent modification, the "lid" there was still some bubble action being pushed past the lid. Perhaps the raised lip would mitigate that microsplash form the bubbles bursting.
    In return for my two glorious observations and one really good suggestion perhaps you would send me a few of your breeding boxes for testing purposes as a kind reward :)
    Your welcome :)
    P.S. You are a treasure for the hobby and I love your videos. Please don't stop.

      @MakeMoreFish  Před rokem +1

      Sure, certainly could be looking for something to graze on. I thought about raising the walls on the uplift. What I found recently is that the sputtering was caused by the water level dropping from evaporation. The farther water has to be lifted above the natural water level, the more inconsistent the flow gets. I made an adjustment to the uplift system to lower the air source and it took care of the problem for me. I also found the lid makes me paranoid. Can't monitor how it's behaving.

They look similar to chocolate gourami, but are much more elegant. There’s a lot of misinformation about them on the internet, so I didn’t grab any. It would be cool if you could figure out a way to breed them while proving that they do not need extremely low PH to thrive.

It seems that you are very very dialed in and its impressive. I commend you. Lastly, I have done some similar types of design work on modifying the breeding box set up from Deans fish room starting point, and using 3d printer, but wow you took it to a different level. I was modifying existing container with lifts outflows etc, didn't think of. the entire thing. What printer are you using? lots of pla there, how long to print main body?
    Im on a highly modified maker select plus and build plate is only 8x8. Id love to work with your design for optimization and would share back any proven designs with you. Is that something you would be interested in? Let me know.
