I kinda like the “cold” interpretation. Maybe the song written in the winter or as gypsy travel a lot they feel the cold at night, so it wasn’t needed to say the word “cold” in the lyrics. But I like the metaphor (using cold hands to create warms /fire)

This song is taken from movie: "Vengo" (2000), but its producer actually stole the greek song "O balamos" published by Dionysis Tsaknis (1990). The original song was written in 1986 from Tsaknis for a mini-series of Greek National TV called: "To mpourini", but never published that time. The song is neither spanish, nor gyspsy. It is greek, inspired by gypsy music. "O balamos" song has been so far released 20 times in Greece and 4 times in other countries.

It's called a cover. Also, there's no such thing as "stealing" art unless you just take someone's creation and claim it's yours without changing anything, which is clearly not what these musicians have done here. They've used different instruments, wrote lyrics in a different language, brought their own style to it and made an entirely new version of the song. If that's stealing then Shakespeare should also be considered a thief (most of his plays were largely inspired by Chaucer, Plautus, Terence, etc.), and so should the Grimm brothers (none of their tales were originally written by them), and Tsaknis for "stealing" a traditional gypsy song, which has been covered by tons of artists. This is ridiculous.

The original song was written in 1986 from Tsaknis for a mini-series of Greek National TV called: "To mpourini", but never published that time. The song is neither spanish, nor gyspsy. It is greek, inspired by gypsy music.
"O balamos" song has been so far released 20 times in Greece and 4 times in other countries.
When some great people create a song, we should at least acknowledge them. When some minor people like the producer of this film, put their name to this song, that is pure stealing.

This is an old gypsy song, not a greek song.
It's called a cover. Also, there's no such thing as "stealing" art unless you just take someone's creation and claim it's yours without changing anything, which is clearly not what these musicians have done here. They've used different instruments, wrote lyrics in a different language, brought their own style to it and made an entirely new version of the song. If that's stealing then Shakespeare should also be considered a thief (most of his plays were largely inspired by Chaucer, Plautus, Terence, etc.), and so should the Grimm brothers (none of their tales were originally written by them), and Tsaknis for "stealing" a traditional gypsy song, which has been covered by tons of artists. This is ridiculous.

This song is about the nomadic Romani people in Greece who spread also in many other countries. The Greeks initially thought they were Egyptians, hence their name became the Gypsies :-) they origins can be traced all the way back to India. We Greeks live with them since the Byzantine Empire and through the Ottoman Empire. They are a part of us and we love them very much!
