As someone who has actually managed to start a fire using a small feral rod I can tell you that unless you are experienced with that sort of thing a lighter will save more time and potentially make more fires
The original RAMBO knife had all of these things. 25 years ago, minus the paracord.
That Kingi flotation device has one great effect - for people like me. It will make the Search and the Recovery of your (very) dead body easier. I am not sure it has enough flotation to keep itself on top of after you drown. But it should be relatively easy to spot on the bottom.
Someone who drowns is not able to float and swim any longer. Now that person has an inflating shopping bag strapped to their arm. A person who is in the process of drowning is unlikely to even climb on top of a massive surfboard. But they are suspected to balance themselves on top of this little cushion of CO2? In the tiniest of current or waves?
As said - bodies will be easier to locate.
If one wants a personal inflatable rescue device go for the waist-mounted belt versions (from a true emergency supplier). That way your upper body will be on the surface - instead of you hanging below it from your arm ca 3 ft below the surface.

These are heavily trained and fit guys rapidly running out of O2 in a minute after having spent most of the day in the pool. So void of CO2 in their blood that the brain does not send the signal to the lungs to start breathing when they surface. Even if they are able to swim to the wall.
A poor swimmer reaches this stage in a minute or three while trying to stay on the surface as much as possible with the typical "gasp for a mouthful of air when you can way" that is so typical. In cold water this stage lasts shorter.
Does any of the SEALs that reach that "brain forgot to breath" level look like they would survive on their own with a balloon strapped to their right arm? No. These guys are not even able to hold on to the side of the pool.
I was thinking of surfers because you can very easily lose sight of what side is up... but thanks for reinforcing my lack of will to swim in the ocean.

the beautiful CRKT fixed blade 4:57 has been discontinued.. i think it was 1 of the best knives they made it was 350$ probably worth every cent besides lookin bad ass, i think they had 2 other fixed blades they discontinued an keep making pocket knives. they sold great so why stop

Why is the crkt FE series knives discontinued?
I think bolt cutters are an underestimated but invaluable post apocalyptic tool. Gets you past padlocks and chain link fences and can deliver a wallop upside the head.

Not to sound mean but these days "Survival" has become synonymous with selling over priced gadgets rather than actual skills that may one day save your life. Ofcourse I would not mind having a quality blade it can go a long way but for such over priced aesthetically pleasing merchandise think I will pass.

I have a Leatherman "Curve" MT that I've had for about 6 years or so. This does pretty much everything many of those tools you review at a great price point. At least it was 6 years or so ago. I think my wife paid $39 for it. But it can't really be beat. A lot of the other stuff is fluff. The Batbelt you showed.....really? But at the same time I could use a Bat belt for all the crap I carry on me. No that one though....

I do though have knock around knives not of my collection and a majority are gerbers China outsourced blades. Don't hit me but I have had more failures with crkt. Hear they stepped up their game so Idk.

As a surfer, this kingy thing could be useful if your almost drowning in normal water. In big waves however, this thing might actually kill you. There should be a quick release on to lose the whole thing.
