No no, John, you gotta go full Derek!
"So, this was a parts car...it's missin' stuff. So a fella's gonna do the right thing and pretend he didn't see that. And we're gonna fix it up and drive it 600 miles home. I'm sure it'll be fine. Nope. Gonna be a disaster.
_Greaaaat_ ." :D
Yup. No.
“rajiator got a leak in it.. mice came n chewed out the lightning hoses”
Hell ya!
Kevin, tell your buddy Channing Tatum covered the short hair, goatee and 'stache look in the movie Jupiter Ascending, and he's 6'1, not his 5'9?. Lol.
YESSSSIRRRRR
Longer videos please
I saw your post, came here, subbed and liked because John was good in your videos.
Kevin please talk him into fixing the old shitstang up and maybe using it as a gambler 500 car or something lol it needs to live again even if it's a turd
Of course she's a good dog. She knows you "rescued" her. What a lucky girl! Thanks, John.
Derek tastes oil: analyzes how old it is, what percentage of it is gasoline, compares its filth to Christina Aguilera videos; stuff like that.
John tastes oil: "Yep, tastes like shit!"
Why does my oil taste like chocolate
I’m confused
Who's Derek?

My step brother has a 79 Mustang that he found in a field and bought when he was 16. It had a 302 in it, but only ran on 6 cylinders and was totally rusted out. He and my stepdad got it on the road and he drove it for many years until it needed too much work. He put it into storage and worked on it as he had time and money and after another 20 years, finally got it back on the road again.
Now that's a Disney movie that'd bring a tear to my eye. 😢
It's, it's... Just so beautiful. 😭 📤
What I love the most about those "safe" gas cans is when they hang up and gas goes everywhere before the nozzle pops back closed ......
Don't think it's a cobra unless somebody took the original motor out keep them coming!!!!! 😎
Let's be honest, Daisy IS the real reason we are here.
My old dog had that exact name. She was a German shorthair pointer black lab mix. Most energetic puppy ever. It hurt me when she was hit by a truck. I like the car and the dog is beautiful.
I'm so sorry to hear about your dog
that motor deserves to LIVE!!!!!!!!
I hope that you get it running, but man, I love the sound of those old Ford starters when the car is cranking during a hard start! Does anyone else?
She definitely sounds like she wants to continue her path in life!! Hope to see more of this beautiful Stang 🍻 and future videos !
Its a 3.8L. My wife owns a 84 Ghia edition Fox body and it still under 75,000 miles on it. Runs like a beast, considering its size.
no, it's 2.8L, I have the exact same car just a different color. They only had 2 V6's in 79, the 2.8L and the 3.3L. The 3.8 didn't even come out until 1982, and it replaced the 3.3L.
John rescues Mustang from the john
EDIT: Your joy is positively infectious.
Your reaction was priceless when the lights came on 😂. And I'd love to see you put that engine on another car that needs it. It seems to still have a lot of life left. It'd be a good series for sure
No love for the 6 bangers? Not everything needs 400 horses. Actually getting it road worthy would be awesome content, at least to me. Keep on it, and you'll have several thousand people along the ride with you!
I do but mostly American or Japanese ones these where 2.8 german ford ones sadly lol never had luck with them
Not a cobra, no louvers, no hood scoop. They didn’t come with a V6 either. Just a regular mustang. But great video none the less!! Love the content
I’m just going off the vin number
Yeah, wrong instrument cluster, seats, wheels too, this wasn't a GT car. It would have been a v8 or turbo 4. The 79, especially the Indy Pace Car version, is I think the best looking of the Fox Mustangs. Performance got a lot better in later years, but they were nice looking, had the best front facia.
The correct term is...Bring the thunder switch!! Good job, get er running and show us CZcams folks more!!
Bring back two beauties! This car and your mullet!
Rescued from the shelter? That’s awesome.
You're a bit crazy John and that's a good thing! Nice to see your new video. Keep it up man!
10:30 now that's a happy man to have lights.
Keep up the great work John! I definitely think your channel has great potential. You have a great personality and an awesome sense of humor. Definitely show more of Daisy too. Everyone loves dogs. Best of luck to you buddy
I love those old ones like that
LMAO...Never seen someone so happy to have lights...right on
Ok certified card carrying bona-fide Blue Oval dude here. The carburated v6 from any brand were absolute TURDS!! if she wasn't on her death bed would be cool to build her with a modern EcoBoost or even a Coyote.
The excitement on his face when he had lights was amazing
Came over from junkyards channel, subscribed, love watching you guys bring back the vehicle an such back to life, stuff that help build America, back when stuff was made in America with pride.
You are the next one to make it big in your group of friends, keep at it brother
Nice start to a project. I just bought a 79 2.8 V6 Mustang myself. Mine is Brown (Medium Chestnut Poly) with Brown interior with some 80's "outlaw" style wheels on it, mine runs and drives and only been off the road about 6 months, I live out here in the Southwest Triangle so the Paint, Dash and front seats are toast, I'm just going to rebuild the motor and trans, repaint it the original color because honestly I kinda dig it, I am going to change the interior color to tan, put some Enkei Wheels on it and put a Orange pinstipe on it. I'm not looking for a Torque Monster or that has 1, 000 Hp. I just want something I can daily drive and have fun with on the weekend cruising up to Vegas over to L.A. or Down to Phoenix/Tucson to a Cars and Coffee or car show.
He was so happy when there was a light
I'm from Texas, so snowmobiles bore me. Tractors in fields and barn-find cars? THAT will hold my attention!
Don't be afraid to bring your personality and flair to the "revival" genre. I'll be subbed and watching to see what's next.
Oh, and grow the mullet back.
No mullet.the rest is OK. Haha
put a external gas tank on the carb and let her run for 3 or 4 minutes
Came here from junkyard digs AC panther video! Excited to binge watch you work on stuff too!
The 2.8 V6 was a good engine. There was a pretty decent aftermarket for it. I knew a guy with a Capri rocking one of these and it was damn fast with the 4 Speed.
We miss the Mississippi mud flap! 😄
I paused the video and subscribed the second you tasted that old oil.
Build it into a drag car together with Junkyard Digs. That would be freaking awesome...
I got unsubbed..thanks goodness for Kevin giving you some love!!!
Omg you look like my friends cousin when I was growing up.
Please bring back the mullet I can’t take you seriously with out it. Also I had a 1979 fox body with a 4 speed manual and a 2.3l 4 cylinder and I drove it everyday for years.
I have a 79 mercury capri 2.8 v6 it starts every time I have never had problems with it🚗
I was expecting to click off but this video was really good dude
Been here since the beginning
Don't give up on her, you CAN do it!!!
You're awesome John!
I want more with this car. Time to pull that thing into the garage.
Yes,yesssssssss, yesssssssss, woehoo
The man,the legend.... 🥰😎
Keep it,fix it and cherish it and make it bite...🐍
Just woke up to piss and saw this. Now I'll be up for 19 min and 28 second. 👍
I've never seen someone so happy about lights
Congratulations on your engagement!! Came to show some love as part of your present on Kevin’s behalf
I have been going though your videos since I watched one of kelvins older videos featuring you. I love your channel so far keep it coming! Reminds me of my own adventures and experiments.
Awesome! Thank you!
lol 'Singed the nose hairs and made me see colours' :-) Cant wait for more vids
Hey John, tell junkyard digs to come over and do the brakes, lol
Fun seeing a parts car runnin even a little!
Great vid, glad to see you appearing in my YT feed again. Keep it up!
Can we talk about the 4cyl mustangs with 2 spark plugs per cylinder? Wtf were they thinking? Lol
Excellent video John :) that V6 be 3.9 litre 232 Cubic Inches also car worth saving for sure and your Lady Daisy Dog she be lot fun for sure !
Looks like one my dad owned at one time ❤️ rip dad ❤️ heck maybe it is never know …
Kick ass mustang get that thing back on the road!!!!
These old cars with the manual can be fun if you get them going. Or they of course are the perfect 302 swap because many came with the 302 from factory. Look at Dylan McCool's Stang. That thing rocks!
I had the 4 cylinder 2.3l stick . I'd smoke tires 1st through 3rd so they weren't too big of a turd. In NY even that body style is worth money. But that primer gray color sure brought back memories. THANK YOU!!
Put a smile on my face after a long day. Look forward to your next one.
That 2.9 liter is a decent engine! Better than the 3.8 liter Ford thought was good, i have had both!
Nice! I don't think you can have a CZcams channel without a dog to draw viewers
Awesome video hoping to see you bring it right back around please! Good luck!
You're lucky you found a first start project I've been looking for one haven't found one yet
Love that ur wearing Junkyard Digs merch
I had a 75 must ll. With that 2800 v6 and a 4spd. Turdly yes but if that's a solid lifter cam like mine, and you add a little more carb, and some timing, those little motors will scream and take a lot of abuse!! I had a ton of fun with mine racing all my buddy's 4cyl imports.
Pretty cool mustang! first watched you on @junkyard digs I'll tune in keep wrenching 😎👉
Just love the fact you as well as JYD an Mook all are dog lovers they've for sure gotten good homes
I'm gonna be filming on a clapped out fox body this weekend...Trick Flow everything, wish me luck. Lol
Awsome mustang revival !!!!!!!!
Well done!! Those were good motors and sounds like it may live again
Great video John keep up the good work from me across the pond in the UK 🇬🇧 👍
I love the videos man and keep up the great work 😎👍
Just sat and binged watched from the start. That mustang needs to become a gambler car . Please do the John Deere next and get your grandpa in the vid. He's cool as heck . Sorta reminds me of Uncle Jesse from the dukes of Hazzard ha ha . All the best dude . 👍
It's a win you got it too fire off. Congrats on your 1st will it start
Dude THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing this one! I know, I know, lots of other people probably said it before I did, but I mentioned it in the comments and it came true :D
Daisy is beautiful. Years and years ago we rescued a yellow lab, Lulu, so our black lab, Onyx, would have a sister and they were wonderful dogs. Miss them so much. But our boy Zeus (also a black lab) is amazing, too. Aside from _any_ car you rescue, Daisy is your most important revival, my dude.
Love your channel, brother!
Thanks for the vid 3m if you want a motor for your mustang I got an 84 e350 with a 460 c6 with 70,000 miles I'll let go cheap
It's sucking in air somewhere besides the bottom venturis that why it needs lots of gas and revs. Vacuum leak at the base of the carb or maybe the power brake boost hose has a crack in it. Perbaps.
Ha, that was my very first car. I don't think yours is a Cobra, as I think a Cobra would only have a V8 or turbo 4cyl (2.3L). The engine you have is the same as mine was, a 2.8L V6, which was made in Cologne, Germany. Decent engine, good solid Motorcraft carburetor, reliable setup, even in the winter. The cam drive is gear-to-gear, no timing chain, so it actually spins the cam opposite direction of the crankshaft. Crank is an iron gear, and the cam is an aluminum 3 spoke gear of twice the diameter, bevel teeth. There is a button spacer in the center of the crank pulley, that needs to come out first if you ever need to pull the crank pulley off. It looks like it is the end of the crank, but it is not. I overheated mine pulling a trailer, and put cold water in it before starting it, so I cracked both cylinder heads and had to replace them, so I had the front and top half of the engine apart to do so. Straight forward design. I only got it to peel rubber on pavement once single time. Not enough power to hurt itself, but it never left me walking.
Good job
My first car was a 1980 Mustang, inline 6 auto. $500 when I was 15. Put a lot of work into it with my dad. Shot a rod out the block before I got to drive it.
Dude i was so suppressed when i saw your face!! Hell ya!!
Rocking the big 23
Being able to put your foot through the floor are not a defect, it's a feature; for breaking. I saw it on the Flintstone's.
It's nice to see you uploading again
I had an '83 Ford mustang years back. Mine also had V-6 in it. Mine I was told had the rarer engine in it which was a 232. Yours either has that or the most common engine size of that area was the 230.
I had a 79 mustang hatchback with over 250000 miles. It was a ripper and same color. PRIMER LOL
Welcome to you and Daisy John
It's so good to see you putting up videos really enjoying
Always been a big fan since I seen you on junkyard digs
That brake cleaner is probably the non flammable kind LOL
It only turned over because it has a Craigslist rebuild. Thank god for that ford blue engine enamel!
Daisy's a good golden girl! And that Mustang sounds better than it looks.
Interesting engine because this I think is a 2.8 V6 which was also used in Europe’s version of the Mustang (the Capri) only in Europe.
Great job, awesome dog
I noticed you have the starter cable on the exhaust manifold. Big short coming when it gets hot. Lol. Key would turn it over if you switch the 2 small wires on the solenoid.
its a 2.8 with a weird EGR setup and some other strange things under the hood but this engine is a good daily driver. Good torque but slow. The Ranger/Bronco community made some pretty modified versions of this motor producing quite some power(190-200hp) so if it runs just run it. Works very well when there is the manual shiftbox behind it. 3speed auto turns it into a backroad cruiser
Yuuus I would wanna keep watching this car grow and change. I’m the same age and my project car I’m trying to bring back is a 1986 Pontiac Fiero v6
