    For someone who always takes the safer route, unsafe choices are never an option. However, for Swami Sarvapriyananda, his first and last unsafe decision of becoming a monk after finishing his MBA course resulted in him abandoning all possibilities of a lucrative career and having his own family. In this talk, Swami Sarvapriyananda explores that one pivotal decision and how it turned out to be life-changing. He talks about the spiritual quest everyone should undertake- questioning the purpose of one's life and existence. He elaborates on the four aspects of this quest- Gyan Yog or knowledge, Dhayan Yog or meditation, Bhakti Yog or devotion, and Karma Yog or actions. Citing Swami Vivekananda as an inspiration, he further emphasizes the need to be spiritual for anyone and everyone, irrespective of their domains.
    Swami Sarvapriyananda is a Hindu monk of the Ramakrishna Order for more than 25 years. Currently, he is the head of the Vedanta Society of New York, a position he has been serving since January 2017. He was also in residence at Harvard Divinity School at Harvard University last year. He frequently speaks at events centred on the teachings of Advaita Vedanta. His spiritual lectures and teachings on the various texts of Advaita Vedanta are widely popular and followed by people worldwide. His series of lectures titled "Who am I?" are some of his most-watched talks. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Wonderful to get a glimpse of the life of swamiji before becoming monk.
    Swamiji's every talk is highly and tightly packed with knowledge, truth, wisdom and stories. Never seen him ending a talk in 20 minutes because his talks really can't so soon. A lot of people do not want his talks to end even after 90 minutes.
    Thank you Swamiji.

    I can't say I am a spiritual person at all, got all kinds of problems but I have experienced that just giving up on my ego or if may call it 'my me factor' a lot of my problems automatically disappear. Swamiji taught that trick in a lecture! Thnks to him for that!

    Why we forget all this knowledge after some time, it just escape from my mind after an hour. I am listening to Swami ji for more than three years, I understand what He is saying in all his talk, But there is no significant improvement in my spiritual life. I always fall back into the same pattern same routine of my life.

      I am struggling too. I think it's because my mind is very much tired. Tired with the stress' and strains of this modern day life. I cannot focus or see clearly atm. Trying to get into a regular routine of meditation, even for 10 minutes a day I believe is key. Good luck to you. Your comment is 6 months ago so hope you're on a more focused spiritual path 🙏

      @subarna89 Před 2 lety

      Who said they don’t? Also in Hinduism there is no room for belief ! Hinduism is totally about seeking. Also this concept that god loves us and all are so christian or islamic . Love is a human emotion , even though depicted differently in different mammals.
      Things are just what they are ! Stop believing like muslims and Christians and find it for yourself... religion vs spirituality..
