The last line translates directly as "the pervert is you". I know people complain about translations all the time. But in this case, the correct translation does make a big difference
Let me add two curiosities: The girls said in a interview/variety show that Cube (their company) at first didn't want to go ahead with this concept, but queen Soyeon fought for it. Also, the budget for the MV was lower, but again she fought to get a raise because she knew it would worth.

to me that last line hits harder when it's directly translated as "the pervert is you" even though their translation fits too, i just feel like the whole song is such a statement and to end it with that is so phenomenal. pretty much saying that the only reason society thinks of nudity and sexuality in such bad ways is because of perverted people, not the ones they're looking at.

Shuhua dyed her hair for the first time for this concept and Soyeon said she had a whole differnet concept ready if Shuhua refused to dye her hair. Best. Leader.👏👏
The message for this song is absolutely needed especially with how South Korea treats women. Soyeon really went above and beyond for this comeback.
I recently found out from an interview Soyeon did that one of her objectives was to clear the searches of child nxdes, and to guilt trip those who search for such things. Gi-dle's korean name "yeoja aideul", translates to "(girls) children", so if someone were to search child nxdes then this song would come up, as well as some of the lyrics like "why you think about nxde" and "the pervert is you/you've got a dirty mind". Which prevents people from easily obtaining such content.

The name (G)I-DLE in Korean directly translates to 'girls', and I-DLE also translates to 'children'
She erased off all the inappropriate contents showing up when people would search up girls nxde or children nxde

The actual lyrics are "I'm born nude, the pervert is you" which got really famous and a lot of people started using it. Also this song helps prohibiting people from search "child nude" in Korea as "idle" means child in Korean
The last line, "You've got a dirty mind", could be directly translated as "The pervert is YOU." and it just hits so hard like omg,,, there's people who've put up threads on how some of the lyrics could've been better translated and reading those lyrics made the song so much more impactful
What’s funny is that soyeon said the growl in yuqi’s part “how do I look?” Was an accident and soyeon loved it so much she kept it in the song

Actually Soyeon told Yuqi to just try whatever when recording it and that was the take she ended up choosing.
This is why I love (G)I-DLE. They aren't like any other kpop group out there and they address topics that most shy away from. Even if you don't like the song, the lyrics are still fire.

yesss!!!! recently started stanning them and do not regret at all...i was initially hesitant to try any other group than bts but now i really love gidle too. I love how both bts and gidle address the issues that must be talked about.
@@samiksharaj-sf3dc I started out that way too! I only wanted BTS content and no other groups, but I eventually branched out and I’ve fallen in love with so many groups since then. This is only the start!!

This comeback was fire, they broke everything with it! I really recommend the other songs of this album too (not to you necessarily react, just to listen them if you want to). If you do so, here's a tip: the storyline starts in the 6° song (dark x-file) and ends in the 1° song (Nxde).
The album is definitely worth listening to in the order stated and with the lyric translation. Probably one of my favorites from them.
G-Idle dedicating their new song to Marilyn Monroe and having Minnie do her “diamonds are a girls best friend” look in the beginning was so magical and so impactful tbh? Bc people have always seen Marilyn in such a negative light and it’s so amazing that idle is able to show that she was a beautiful woman by switching the context for her by dedicating this song for her. And the addition of the shredding painting was amazing. I knew that reference right away bc it was such a big deal in the art community. The painting was shred after it sold for millions. So cool. They’re truly amazing with all their Easter eggs. I knew it would be a moulin rouge type concept and I’m so happy about it. The stylists kicked it out of the park 🥺

I was exactly there with you!!! The concept is freaking amazing. The first listen of Nxde was just okay? Like it's definitely a bit out of the box. I think Tomboy is more public friendly. Nxde is a bit too eccentric for my tastes but in the theatre show way, and it's not really my taste. HOWEVER, it definitely is super catchy. I really like many different parts of the song a lot!!!! So, it still goes on my playlist
They expected that…some people love this song to de4th but some dont like it because it’s too different from other Kpop songs….they didn’t make it for the charts anyway, it’s for the arts…the song achieved 129 Perfect AII KiII though, to my surprise..because this song is so unconventional and not public friendly…they never play safe anyway…

The song is DEFINITELY a grower. the first 3 listens i found it underwhelming and didnt find the melodies memorable now im addicted to the song!!! Also the mv is amazing they look STUNNINGGGG and I love the message they portrayed

With the Marylin Monroe and Banksy inspirations, this MV is also very Moulin rouge and Betty Boop inspired. The choreo is also inspired by some of the Moulin Rouge performances, especially the French Cancan

Marilyn Monroe and Banksy references are so GOOOOD but what's makes it even better is the message they were trying to tell, it's deeper than some people may think. I feel like GIDLE is the only 4th gg that dare to do this type of concept.
This song is a masterpiece! Music wise, the mv, and most importantly the concept, everything about this is so unique. I love how they went with such a bold concept, as they always do. And I admire them so much for it!💜
Cube dont want the title Nude because they afraid it would be censored but this makes Soyeon want to name it Nude even more to change people perception. So they decide to go with Nxde, but broadcasting still has to pronounce it as nude and didnt censor the title because its already too popular 😂
The purpose of the chorus is to be a bit sultry and to be "stripped down" to pair with the visuals/overall theme of the video :D Soyeon really is a genius when it comes to concepts and what will suit them/show their colors well. :D
Did you know that Soojin loves Marilyn Monroe too? So I also feel like the song is dedicated to SJ too, especially with that animated lady with her mole placement under the eye.

Okay I have to say shuhua (the one in the green dress during the second pre chorus) when she during the first chorus sang the how do I look (she was sang the second one after miyeon ) I feel like she had so much impact in her voice i love her my bias isn’t her but she’s close.

As far as the musical take on the song itself... I feel like a lot of people have said they prefer Tomboy on first listen, but similar to your experience, it really grew on them. The "How do I look" and "latdadada" lines are just sooooooo... CATCHY. It's definitely an earworm that you'll just remember hours later and come back to.

Totally agree with your assessment. On the first listen, I loved the concept but didn’t love the song. On the third listen I appreciated the song way more and the choreo sold it for me. Also agree that I loved Tomboy first listen and was absolutely in love with the whole thing.
