As professional and kind as these workers are, you feel the tension because you guys are so intimidating. Young, strong, (and you, extremely tall) men who everyone stereotypes on a regular basis. You can feel the tension and awkwardness until you speak their language. The entire atmosphere changes and I love it. The place went from a cold and empty establishment to a place full of life and inviting connection. I love it, and it inspires me to learn a new language. I’m a Mexican woman in Los Angeles, which is a melting pot. I don’t get stereotyped as much as I would in say, Kentucky, or Japan, but videos like these do inspire me to want to learn more languages to connect with people you would otherwise only greet or thank in customer service or in passing. I only know English and Spanish, but there are so many other people to be able to connect with out there. Maybe I’ll go with Mandarin. Awesome videos man.

Bro forgive my language,.but you are a fucking inspiration,.Im from London UK,.I spent 5 years in China and it was one the best learning experiences of my life,.I unfortunately didn't get as good as you with putong hua because of complacency and translators...not an excuse...but the point id like to make is that if more people like you were in the world I think half the problems in the world would be solved..I found people generally are blown away when you speak their own language especially if you are of colour( i am and have some very interesting stories when i whipped out my chinese to the locals in China lol)..strange but true,.not that it matters if they are nice about it which they generally are...I wish you all the best my man and you just got another subscriber...

I love how humble Moses is tho, most people spend years to learn a language and may still not be fluent, this man be speaking like 30 languages and can alternate in between in a snap, that takes a special skill and brain. I love these videos because it shows how much of a barrier language is between people. I truly think that a lot of racism comes from people not being able to communicate with each other well. Like as much as I don’t like it I know that the older Asian family members I have can be a little racist sometimes, but I bet that if there was a black person or Mexican person that spoke Vietnamese to them and spoke it well they would treat them a lot better than someone who can’t. I feel like it’s how in America a lot of Asian people are reserved and introverted, but they will be very welcoming of you and treat you as one of their own when you speak their language because they feel like both of you now have some type of common ground.

I'm really a beginner in Chinese, when you say "English" in mandarin it sounds like "in yu" but I learned it to be "ying yu" maybe it's an accent thing? Or maybe the y is barely pronounced and you're saying it but I can't hear it? I know russian word ещё sometimes is said yischo with a strong y sound at the beginning or with a barely noticeable y or just ischo without any y at all, depending on accent. Maybe Chinese does that too?
I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure "yi" in pinyin is almost always said without actually pronouncing the "y." If I understand correctly, that letter is only put in there because pinyin is usually written with initial consonants. Same goes for "wu." Very few words start with a vowel other than u or i.
