Railexplorer.. Great coverage. Why ALCOs are still in use even after 20+ years? Pentograph of first banker was completely down and therefore not linked up to power source. Interesting.

Those are the latest Refurbished ALCos they'll still be in service for another 2-3 years further.
Regarding the Bankers' Pantograph, 1st WAG-7s panto was down as Two bankers (G7s) power was sufficient enough to push the rake. Thus the power of the 1st was not being utilised for banking.

Life of an ALCO is 36 years. With electrification drive they have been reduced to 30 years. You want IR to get rid of them after 20 years?
