Im holding off on the elite strap for now. I want to see what third parties come up with. Hoping for a CV1 style strap (with the headphones) or maybe even Index style.
TLDW: A new strap, a different face cushion, a battery pack
Even though they "skimped out" on the strap and face pad, I personally think they are way more comfortable than my Q1. I will still be going after the elite strap w/ battery for the counter weight and battery life though, since I like to play for long sessions.

I have the head strap accessory. It's awesome! It's worth every penny.
I’ve never really had any issues with the head strap, but this is definitely something to consider!

I’m getting my quest 2 on Christmas! Plus a bunch of accessories, I can’t wait!
I have the quest 2 and I think the normal strap is fine its comftorble to me except for how it messes with my hair but I can fix that in about a minute. The only thing I feel wrong with it is the short battery so I'm gonna get the battery with the elite strap but if you have a portable class c charger that works too
I already got both pre-ordered. I went with the battery on the strap instead of just the strap, so I'm hoping that helps too. I'm pumped!
So the VR Cover on the Oculus website is the same as the VR Cover from the VR Cover website?
I do think that the original strap still has some use in case you just want to watch movies while leaning with your head against the backrest of your chair (because of the extra thickness on the back of the Elite strap). I personally pre-ordered the Oculus Quest 2 256GB and the Elite battery strap because I already have some experience with other VR HMD's like the PSVR, Oculus Rift CV1 and the Oculus Quest 1 128GB. And one of the first things I upgraded on the Quest was an extra phone charger battery and used some Velcro and a 3D printed part to connected it to the back for better weight distribution and extra playtime so that is why the Elite battery strap is a must have for me. Also one big reason for me to go for the 256GB edition is that when you de-install a game you will lose all progress because most games don't have cloud support (yet) so I rather keep everything installed for that reason.

I tried the Oculus Quest 2 lastnight and these were 2 of the 3 big things I felt were lacking. But for the price I'm not complaining. The other thing I'm looking at improving is the sound. Any ideas of what is a good workable solution? I tried headphones, but the sounds still sound distant.
I got my Elite Strap with a battery pack - the strap is great for easy fitting, but the battery really adds to the overall *balance*. Really awesome.

Textured rubber Grips for the controllers are also useful! For me they were a must have!
