Tow rope sucked up in Waverunner, jet ski...how to remove it

How to remove rope, straps, tow lines, seaweed, etc. from a Waverunner or jet ski.
(hint: you'll need to have it on a trailer).
This is something most people can do themselves.
You'll need to be able to get under the ski to access the intake grate.
You'll also need the proper tools to remove the grate and possibly a sharp utility knife to cut the rope, strap, etc. from the driveshaft.
For my 2008 Yamaha FX 160 HO, I needed 12mm and a 10 mm sockets and a socket wrench/driver.
