I used to like full sport bikes the most but now I think naked bikes are better. They have a better ride position, lower insurance and better price.
+T Brown yes, naked bikes are better! about long trips, you can just put a windscreen(Fairing) for 100-200$ and you are good to go! (they all look ugly with windscreens though :/)
+T Brown watch chasing a kawasaki 2016 zx 10r with a duke 390 on my channel. the break in ride is also there for the zx 10r do subscribe if you like it.
Yeah and with naked bikes you don't have to worry about fairings flying off.
This is actually my favorite look on the Z1000. The headlights, in my opinion, are some of the best on any motorcycle. This Z, the gen 1 Hayabusa, 2009-2014 R1 and the 2007/08 ZX6R all take top positions on my list of favorite front ends.
He was not holding his helmet, he was telling you about the cop that was down the road, remember knock on top of the helmet for cops
Love the hell out of these, always wanted one. I'd have to say the 03 is the best looking year like EN187 's but these new ones got a unique beast look ! Looked fun!
bakerXderek Oh it totally was man and I would definitely agree. The look of these is very interesting for sure, but not my favorite look of this bike.
Srib whats the difference? i can only think less weight and power? less weight is good though
Meterz. Actually its more weight xD and I've never ridden a z1000 before so I wouldn't be able to tell you but I guess is just less power
I have an 03 z1000 and I have fallen in love with the character that bike has. It is so growly and wants to go all the time.
I went from a Yamaha R1 to a Kawasaki Z1000 which I ride now and it's my favorite motorcycle ever. Very reliable and torque is epic for fast starts and it pulls and pulls on the freeway. The bike looks much better with a zero gravity windscreen it totally improves the look of the bike.
2 years ago I rode my friend's Z1000. 6 Months later, I sold the Harley and bought a Speed Triple. Love the nekkid bikes!
thanks for the review Chase, that Z1000 is my dream machine. I'm currently riding it's baby brother (Z750)
Bro I just got an FZ 09 earlier this week and it is amazing. If you liked the FZ 07 you're going to love the 09.
Omg YES, I love this bike! I also love the fact that Kawasaki has the passion to put quad exhausts on it instead of just 1.
I owned the faired version of this bike, and i loved the engine. Glad you did too!
Best part of Kwaks I find are the brakes.
Glad you reviewed this one! I love the z1000. This is the 2014 model though, as they introduced the newer non reflective headlight display then.
Kawazaki have being making mean machines since the 70's and the sound has being constant and awesome over the years. A thumbs up for my fave bike review channel.
i lost my liter cherry on a z1000 at bike week this past year and it was wonderful. i fell in love hard
I love the honest review! As any rider does, I've been keeping an eye out for what to replace my current bike with (which you heavily influenced, I might add)
The fz-09 is the most fun bike I've ever ridden (which is why I now own one) I have ridden so many different bikes (I work at a yamaha/ktm dealership) and this bike takes the cake on my list of favorite bikes.
I was looking at one of these at the dealer the other day, not interested in it, but nice to see a review perspective on it. Thanks for the video.
Dude!!!! Ive waited so long for you to do this bike. This is my bike!!!!!!
In 2017, when i will have the A license, i will buy one of those. In the meantime, i will continue enjoying my little 47hp monster 696 :-) I love this z1000! Great video.
Iv got 2009 z 750 ( 1st big bike ) love it . Changed the leavers. Tail tidy . Lots of extras. Going back to what you said about your heal of your boot on the exhuat . I like that . That means you can have your toes on the pegs and have your heal supported all the time.
Love the sound of that bike! Thanks Chase
I love that bike!! There was so many times, I wanted to buy it. It just looks so good, and from the video it looks like the power and torque are delivered nicely... probably better than my old ducati monster 796
I'm on a 2014 and still love watching vids on it. Great bike! You got a sub from me too!
Awesome man love all of your videos please keep them coming
This bike has one of my favorite sounds. It's just so mechanically awesome
Just bought me a 2014 today! OMG 😍
Thank you for doing a much better job of volume matching the bike photo section to your voice volume! Much more enjoyable.
just bought one of these . have added new race exhausts, steering damper and some other bits. Cracking bike.
I have the 12 z1000 and it will power wheelie in third these are absolute monsters. Guy on our forum hits sub 10s at the strip and it corners beautifully as well.
I own a 2010 z. I love that bike to death. Changing the mufflers to a more open exhaust really improves the heat of the engine. It runs a lot cooler. I ride in shorts all day all the time. I only got burned from oem stock mufflers. After changing them it quit happening.
Ride safe and have fun
Thank you for riding my dream bike. It was awesome.
The outer part of the exhaust doesn't get hot enough to burn anything, so not really an issue. The Ninja 1000 and Z 1000 are true torque monsters. Ride safe and great review.
Nice thanks. Been wanting to see your feelings on this bike.
I just got the FZ09 in March, I love it! Curious to see what you think. I imagine you won't like the suspension depending on how they set it up.
Naked bikes can be so much fun! Coming from faired bikes (fz6r, gsxr750) and going to the fz8 was so much fun! You get a similar extra sense of speed like being in a very low to the ground sports car. Riding a naked bike you don't have that whole cluster out in front and so it appears you are going faster than you are.
Too much fun!
Before I got my FJR1300 I had a Z1000. Great bike. Wants to be ridden fast, but at high speeds the handle bars shake like crazy. Always felt that the engine was so high strung that it could not relax. Nuff said. Great bike, loved it, but I can only have one bike at a time!
I *LOVE* the engine on my Ninja 1000 (Z1000SX in other countries) It just motors everywhere you point it with all the low end torque. Having a owned a big V8 car, the N1k kind of feels like that. Wherever you want to go it wants to take you there in any gear at any RPM. I got the N1K for some touring and this engine is perfect for it.
When you gonna test ride a BMW S1000 or S1000RR? Great video as always chase, and I must say, that bike looks fantastic
Dude this bike for me its the best !! thanks Bro !! big hug from Marietta !
All these new bikes with LED headlights are making me jelly.
Ride a damn FZ09 already!
Nothing more attractive than the torque delivery at low rpm!
I have a Triumph Daytona 675 (2007) and she has CRAZY torque. No matter what gear or rpm if you give some gas she takes off
I bought my z1 based on this video. Best purchase i ever made.. however i would recommend keeping an eye on that kawasaki valve cover oil leak issue.
I'm still running my gen 3 2012 Z1000, I love this bike so much and don't have the heart to replace her yet. Yes, it is a wheelie monster.
Driven a friend of mine's yesterday , amazing little bike , gorgeus design , i would leave it for a beginer no problem , if you don't twist the throttle definatelly does not feel like want to kill you at every mistake you make .
The front of that z1000 looks like some kinda alien and it's so cool
WOOO! Love this bike, it's awesome!
Had to click and watch. A local guy over here went for a cruise with us and he had a z1000. Nice bike.
Great video Chase! Can you imagine a red "headband" wrapped around the headlights? Haha!
naked bikes is where it's at! gotta love em
Btw, the large bar ends helped with throttle control (resting half your hand on the end) and basically controlling the throttle with your fingers until you get used to it.
I've watched 6 of your videos in a row and every single bike you've reviewed you've started off with either "oh my gawd" or "oh my goodness"...so funny! Subbed!
Just bought my 2015 z1000!! Got it for a steal too!! Love the thing. And love your videos !! I have very similar opinions to you. It is alot different watching your videos before I actually buy them like my fz07 and fz09. Keep the reviews coming bro preferably naked bikes! Maybe a newer aprilia turono ? #c2wfr
Well Chaseontwowheels, now you know how i felt leaving the dealership with one of these last year. Never ridden it before and never test driven. saw it and was like HOLYOMGIBUYUNOW!. Then when i left the dealer ship i was graced with my first ever wheelie in my 8 years of riding. Bike is Awesome and handles awesome.
btw i got rid of the bell shapped muffler things and put on some Urban Brawlers and removed the mirrors and added bar ends and got motodynamic all in one sequential LED turn signal taillights and fender eliminated.
That's crazy I started watching your videos just to watch bikes run from cops and I thought all the roads you were on looked familiar. Then you said you're in Marietta and I'm like that's where I live! Haha
nice reviews lets see you take out some of the KTM line up or maybe Hyosung if it is available...keep up the good work.
#C2WFR I'd love to see you first ride a Yammy FJR, also would be fun to see you on one of the Yamaha Bolts which is the smaller cruiser in their lineup and might not be as crazy for you as the Victory you rode. Really enjoying these FR videos man, keep up the good work!
I love the look of naked bikes. I would totally get one at some point
hey @chaseonetwowheels I know this an old video but I was wondering how leaned over or straight up ur are on the bike
Total. Beast. This bike is so god damn awesome.
i would love to see you ride a *bmw s1000 single r* AND a *triumph speed triple".
love your work "chase", keep up the good stuff!
greetings from germany
Love the way how you describe the mirrors
Today I was looking/hearing to a 80's Z550 pulling out of a PLot and it was good.
If I would have come down to the meetup, I would have let you ride my 2014 Yamaha FZ-09. You would love the torque on that bike, its freaking amazing.
Finally! A long awaited chase motovlog ! Thumbs Up if your day just got 1000x better !
Bought a Z1000sx (Ninja 1000 in US?), which is basically this bike but with a fairing. Gotta say how much I love it. Engine can be a bit vibey, but stable in the corners, awesome torque & acceleration. I replaced the standard exhausts with Scorpion cans and the sound is so deep and amazing. Gotta love it :)
YarekBalear ...also, p.s. when you've that much torque in almost any gear (apart from first), then a gear indicator is superfluous :P On my test ride, I was convinced the speedometer was in km/h, because it felt slow but I was flying past cars and realised I was actually travelling in mph :P
that's my bike! I swear once I'm done with this week's AP tests, imma go out and just ride to wherever...
Quick note on the clutch and gear change issue you talked about.
I have a 2015 Z1000 - basically identical to the one you tested. Absolutely agree with shifting that it seems that you need to be hard on it in order to feel solid tactile feedback.
Here's something interesting though. I just did my first oil change and put in V300 instead of whatever factory crap they put in it. After doing that, shifting feels way better. The tactile piece of the equation is greatly improved. That being said, I'm only 100 or so miles into it, so maybe it will return to the old feel, but I thought it was worth noting.
Engine also feels smoother.
You stay classy.
***** Thank you so much for doing this review! I got the 2014 Z1000 this March. It is an absolute pleasure to ride and the torque on that thing is absurd! The suspension is harsh and the wind noise is crazy. But once it starts pulling through, the acceleration is addicting.
FYI the bike you rode is a 2015 Z1000 and not a 2013. The 2013s were the previous generation. This gen started with 2014.
Which one will be a better buy?
The Triumph speed triple or The Kawaski Z1000.
Main concerns are Sound, Torque, Power and performance.
Have to do the street riding.
YESSSSS, i was waiting for this 1
I have the Sunset Red one, this Ride is a Beast...
2014* That's a gen 4. Gen 3 is 2010 to 2013
***** The one you rode is actually a 2015. The 2014 has different color scheme (gray/green) while the rest is similar. images.motorcycle-usa.com/PhotoGallerys/14-kawasaki-z1000-6.jpg
+DoubleT90T Actually no... that byke on the video is a 2015... th 2014 is gray and green... same byke thou
+chaseontwowheels the video title says 2014 and you said 2013 thar it is
+DoubleT90T watch chasing a kawasaki 2016 zx 10r with a duke 390 on my channel. the break in ride is also there for the zx 10r do subscribe if you like it.
great video brother
I was thinking about getting a zx10r but this thing looks badass
Chase, which dealership were you at when you test rode the R3? I keep waiting to see you on that road you went on again.
Hey man, i like your vids..they are cool!! Why dont you try the 2015 YZF-R1? It would be crazyyy :)
it might be just me, i hate the over-the-shoulder feel you give me how you shot this video. i feel like we're nut to butt.
great info and bike.
Inspiring bike indeed :) good ride, good vid men! Will you be able review bmw s1000r? (Not RR) Should be torque monster too.
slid out on one of these but still love em
SICK BIKE BOII
#C2WFR kawasaki vulcan 2000 its such a different bike than you usally ride but has such a massive toque. I am really curious how you handle it.
Although this isn't a new bike, I haven't seen a detailed review on the 2007-2008 Kawasaki ZX6R online at all. It would be nice to hear your thoughts on this bike.
First off. New subscriber here! Like you vids :)
Try to get a ride on a Honda cb1000r a naked competitor to The z1000.
Do you think the height is good for someone who is around 6'3"?
Chase awesome Vdos always !!! Please Please review Kawa Z900 ASAP... thanks...Keep Vloggin ;D :)
hey Chase!
what do you use to record those sick clips at the star showing off the bikes??
I don't like the droopy front nose, or the oversized exhaust cans, but other than that... I like it! First mod: tail-tidy. Second mod: exhaust slip-ons.
Still waiting for Kawasaki to get to their senses and start using a TFT screen on this bad boy
This is a love or hate bike. When I had first seen it in the showroom I thought it was the most amazing thing I had ever laid my eyes on. However, almost every opinion from other people about the bike was negative, they hated the insect type front end. If I didn't already have my FZ, I would own this bike.
Greetings,
How about a "First Ride" test with 2014/2015 Kawasaki ZX-14 and tell us how is it compared with the "Busa" you tested earlier this year!?! Wish you a great season from Romania
could you review the z800? I'm deciding between that and an fz09
what camera do you use in the beginning of your video. I realize that there is a link but I could not get it to work right
like a ninja turtle?! :D dude it looks hella aggressive! :o
I do like these vids. Jealous you get to try all these bikes. The rider in me wants them all but I really just want to try all the different types of bikes.
Z1000's are like the bikes from Akira; if the bike isn't going fast, it won't work right.
I want one on these bad boys again. But I might get the ninja1000 instead because the wind protection will be nice in long trips.
I remember that exact same feeling the day I bought my z1000... the first time I felt that engine... still brings tears to my eyes
was it your first bike? just curious since it seems super easy to ride
@@RaulRamirez-qq4td its very very easy to ride... but its a fucking buzz saw too.the only thing easy about it is riding position. The power is REAL
Hmm where can you get all the parts for it? It’s my dream bike and I want to get a bike I can customize easily. By that I mean getting the parts
