You're in fantasy land. Brown and Caruso are no where near White's level especially on offense who averaged 17 and 40% from 3 in the POs. This trade doesn't move the needle at all for OKC. OKC needs Chet to bulk up and improve to progress.

OKC here. I'm certain we picked up Caruso for his defensive prowess. It'll be good for Chicago, assuming Giddy is bringing the ball up the floor much of the time, rather than just standing around the baseline. He's a much better player with the ball in his hands.

They didn’t give up on him, but if you watched them play any basketball at all this season, he just didn’t fit in there from a play style pov. There’s a reason he was basically relegated to the bench in the playoffs. They traded him for a proven player on a championship team who fits in with what they’re trying to do. Totally makes sense

@@SquidysTents i think my only problem with the trade is that i'm looking at 3 years down the road. in 3 years, josh giddey will be a better player. in 3 years, alex caruso will be a worse player. this doesn't seem like a move that turns okc into a champion, so we're still needing to add somebody.
i really like caruso, but he's not plugging any holes on the team. giddey offered a skillset that wasn't duplicated elsewhere. i get the fit issue with shai, but i think we're overlooking the luxury of having the ability to run different stuff with giddey. what happens if shai goes down? we can't mimic his productivity, so now all the guys who normally get great open looks off his penetration won't be getting those great looks. having a plan B that differs from your plan A seems valuable.
i'd be happier if we traded giddey for a rebounding big or a stretch 4.

Sam Presti literally had to work with a Kevin Durant walked for nothing and able to turn the team around in less than 10 years. Bulls meanwhile, still irrelevant since the Michael Jordan days.

No other team in the nba has as much spending power as they do bc he got ahead of the cba rules and also still have Pritchard and horford on 10 million dollar contracts. It’s actually absurd they are able to get away with all those contracts.

Caruso Is a "Thunder Guy." He loves Coach Daigneault from his time with the OKC Blue. His shooting will get better working with Chip Engelland. Thunder now have 2 of the top 4 season steals leaders in the NBA *AND* Lou Dort "AND" Chet. The Thunder D is going to be lights out. Turn up the A.C.!

Whats funny is I actually believe we are reading this wrong, I somewhat believe the bulls were shopping for a PG, because of Lonzo’s injuries, and then came to Presti, and instead of asking for picks, bro just said Caruso, and they thought, his timeline might not match their new squad and that’s how this went down.

What a great move for the Thunder. One of the best 3 and D players in the league for an inconsistent shooting, unathletic guard. This is a big time move. If the Thunder can get themselves a little more size they are going to be tough to beat.

I honestly believe this is a fair trade for both teams. Giddy is a good player but he has to play PG. AC will get wide open shots, him and Lou dort together provides solid perimeter defense. I hope the bulls are blowing it up for real.

@@Rob_Batman He's best year was his rookie year when the team was trash. As soon as the team got better he was unplayable. What the ball in his hands the team will be below average. The only reason he averaged 16 points is because he had to take 14 shots. He gets his shot blocked in the paint and is a horrible defender.

Looks like we're really committing to a 4 guard lineup now. Shai, Caruso, Dort, J Dub and Chet. Good luck to Giddey though. I think if he gets the keys to run an offence in Chicago he'll be a star in the league. Still only 21 also so very young. Zach Edey, Devin Carter and Dalton Knecht are all 22/23 and they'll be lottery picks next week. Giddey is younger and has been playing pro ball for four years, three in the NBA. He's going to be a very fun player to watch next season slinging dimes all over the court.
Caruso probably will be a 6th man, and we sign someone like Hartenstein

I think Caruso will score more on our team because we are just a team that loves to kick it out to players on the arc so he'll get more attempts. I love me some Dort. Personally I'd have both of them on the floor because we could realistically take out two big guns from the other team and let our big three just score. But I do think Caruso just pips him as a player.

He played those games and left early in a lot of them, he was patched up with scotch tape the entirety of the season, I would know since I actually watched the games and not just Google some box score, yes he's a very good defender, I think both teams got what they wanted because I don't think either guy was a good fit for their current teams

Josh Giddey can only go back to the style he played at OKC in his 2nd year if the Bulls get rid of Zach, Derozan, and Vuc. Else he will run into the same issues at OKC with 2 stars to play behind as Zach and Derozan took up 20 shots each and Vuc 15. Now he has Coby too. Zo had to play behind 3 players and still had an impact with low usage and great defense.
DeRozan is leaving they'll be lucky to get a sign and trade
And even the Bulls aren't stupid enough to prioritize Vucevic touches at this point.

The Bulls have a top 10 protected from the Spurs in 2025. So this is a tank move. They are pulling the Spurs when they traded Dejounte Murray for Wemby draft. Great move for Cooper Flagg because this team is a tanking team that's why they traded Caruso. They don't want his defense keeping them afloat.

I actually think the Bulls won this trade by a mile. Caruso is 9 years older than Giddey and 3 point shooting is the only improvement Giddey needs to make at 21 years old.
Giddey shot 47% last season and his growth was stunted playing alongside SGA. Nevertheless, Caruso can definitely help OKC get past Dallas but there are a host of elite teams in the west.

While Giddey has major defensive limitations, he has tons of offensive upside yet and is still really really young. This is why no picks were attached. Plus the Bulls front office is just low IQ anyways to have thought to of asked for more.
