daechwita means a marching song when the king enters
in other words, make way for the king/agust d
i saw daechwita could also mean hit or blow
so it's like..
daechwita daechwita play it loud daechwita
hit hit (the gong) play it loud hit
blow blow (the horn) play it loud blow
@@maia6507 the three chinese characters at the beginning of the mv are 'big, fast, hit' so you're pretty much right about the meaning.
Sometimes also described as a military song for the leader but ye it’s the same thing lol
Omg yasss
Is it only me who still feels this is a dream
nah i feel the same way, this feels so unreal
you're not alone :(
Dude sameeee it was literally 4:00 am when this came out were I’m from so when I woke up I thought it was all a dream and was about to cry until I saw all my social media’s exploding with AGUSTD2 LMAO 😂
yeah me too, that’s how amazing D-2, it’s too good to be true
biss I think I'm dieing 😫✨🥵

Basically he said “born a slave and now a king” being born a slave you can’t become king because the king needs to have a royal blood in their body they also can’t have a scar on their body, because it needs to be clean. So this is his way of telling us that it was a struggle to become a king from being a slave with all those conditions tying him down.
And if you tied it up my opinion of course with the korean industry, BTS was one of the underdog group whose fate was pre-determined to fail by the industry.
Defying all odds they raised now became the crown jewel of kpop industry.
I think BTS still struggle, as many people can't accept that they are the one who became so famous since you know how there are many groups who was so famous at that time that it would be more logic for them to acquire that fame than BTS.
Thus the analogy that even if they were a slave having scar from working hard they were able to become king so now its time to bow down you like or not.
Yeah and then he shot himself as king. He gave up that goal 😁
@@dimaramchund8785 then why would he shoot himself as king 🤔 Remember what the lyrics of Ugh say
it could also be a reference to him coming from a brokeass company and now, well we all know how bighit is currently.
@@kendallroys you mean feeding off my near empty wallet 😂😂😂
Yoongi said that he didn’t diss anyone specifically, and if someone feels targeted then that’s on them. He basically said “well if the shoe fits then 🤷🏽♂️” LMAO
daechwita roughly translates to a big parade that is basically held for the king when he leaves the palace and everyone has to bow to him (i think x)
Yeah you're right
It’s for when he visits. The military plays it
I thought it was the music that plays when he makes his rounds? Also, it's used by the korean military to March to
Or when a important guest arrives
So the beginning is literally daechwita. That music. Play that music louder for HIM (For the english speakers with lacking comprehension like me)
I felt like it's definitely a diss track, he just doesn't name names. He criticizes the fake hip hop culture of using pills and alcohol and money as an aesthetic but without the skill, determination, or talent to go with it. Basically...he's just letting people drag themselves. Like, if you see yourself in his lyrics, that's a *you* problem..
and that's on period.
FACTS. 😎
PERIODTTTTT

FACTTTTSSSS
Daechwita does not have a meaning it’s is what you hear at the beginning of the song . Daechwita is the Korean instruments. They usually plays them when a king is leaving his palace.
It's not an instrument it's a ceremony where an instrument is played
i saw daechwita could also mean hit or blow
so it's like..
daechwita daechwita play it loud daechwita
hit hit (the gong) play it loud hit
blow blow (the horn) play it loud blow
Daechwita is also what they call the martial music they play during Korean national service.
Daechwita is a music genre.
Daechwita its a melody played when the king marches, it’s basically the “King’s march song” that’s why he asks us to say it out loud and sing it, cause he is a king
“bring that back”
*restarts the whole video*
BROOOO AHAHAHAHA
Who else still bops their head whenever Daechwita is playing?

How doesn’t 😂😂😂

@@shiftygirl6434 FACTS! 😆 I LIKE IT!💜
"the tradition in korea, if you have a scars you will never be a king, but suga he have a own law"
Daechwita is a traditional Korean musical genre, which used to be performed in royalty processions such as when welcoming the arrival of a king. So that's why suga said "play it loud daechwita" because he is the King.
Ous: running it all back
Lou: runs it from the beginning
ous: no no! not all the way
i love yoongi's verse where he plays with the word "glitter". his underground name was "gloss" because yoongi translates to something that's shiny. it's basically him recalling his past and how and where he started and pointing out he was born to shine. he came from a slave to a king but he was BORN a tiger. a dragon meant to fly. his name says it all for him already
anyone?
Y’all should do “what do you think” next or “burn it” from the AGUST D2 album

Daechwita (大吹打 literally means “great blowing/hitting) is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music that uses wind and percussion instruments. It was played to signify the King/Minister during outings or soldiers returning after winning a battle.
Im still not beleiving that yoongi is one of the korean kings grand kid and he is spposed to be a king👁👄👁👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥
According to what I've seen from a couple of Koreans, that's actually not true. He's descended from the relative of a Korean Empress, but she married the king and that's how she became Empress. Her family actually didn't have royal blood. They were on a show called "Knowing Brother" and it came up because one of the guys on the show has the same last name but Yoongi's clan is of a higher rank. Yoongi looked it up before he went on the show and the fact that his family uses the "-gi" in their names confirmed it.
@SUPER STAR B T S Yoongi is from the strong clan. Jin and Taehyung are actually descended from a king.
Well it is
@@psychokitty71 yep stan the kings. Period.
Yoooo he’s not descendents from royalty. At most he’s of noble descent because he’s from the same clan as Empress Min.
I heard that “Daechwita” is like a Korean traditional music for South Korean army back in the days. They also use it to march when they win, that is what I heard.
actually it's the King's music, it's what they play to let people know he was on the move.
Keara Donnachie great thank.👍👍👌👌👌🤓🤓🤓
That's the song the military band plays when the King is coming or the King has arrived.🤗💜✌
There's no exact translation for Daechwita. It's like a traditional genre of music.
"I'm taking it as a diss track!!" Same bro same😂😂🔥🔥
And what if when the song ends and there's the gunshot is where UGH! started
They literally edited it that way when they had Omar react to Daechwita on their second channel "k-pop university" 😂 Go check it out.
Wait... why am I promoting their second channel (bc it's lit duh) I should be getting paid for this lol

I can't wait for Yoongi's vlive explaining the mv; I'm kind of expecting to find out that this repeats themes in Interlude: Shadow.
Me too! I dont think its just about bragging about becoming a king
Forgive me lord for I have looped the song.
Please watch "WHAT DO YOU THINK" (lyrics). His just spitting some fire on that song.
I wonder what was Taehyung's reaction the first time he listened to it 😂
daechwita is the name of this march song that you'd play when a king/nobleman came to visit

Comme il dit : "I never dissed anyone specifically. If someone feels targeted, then it's their problem"
His vocals in People were golden, you should react to that too :)
Also, Daechwita quite literally means hard hit/blow.
"M taking it as a diss track!!! We could take it how we want right!! Let me have fun!!" I laughed so hard here 🤣🤣🤣 I love this guy seriously ❤
Me trying to sing the song in peace. My mum in the corner looking for my recipe to return me
These lyrics are freaking amazing. I can't wait to see your reactions. Love you guys!
fun fact: yoongi actually has royal blood. He's part of the Yeoheung Min Clan that was really powerful during the Joseon dynasty and his family was actually high-ranking with in the clan.
They’re just sipping bubble tea and look so concentrated 😂
This song is related to the story of King Gwanghae. It is a famous history in Korea. According to the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, there is a rumor that a clown with the same face as the king lives outside the castle one day. The king is sick for a certain period of time and his personality changes after that. By matching the record, Koreans are now making dramas and movies with the imagination that the king and clown changed roles. Also, the way of speaking used in the song cannot be translated, but the way of speaking in the old Joseon was used a lot. For example, "hitting him right away" does not simply mean to cut off the person's neck, but is often used in historical dramas as a nuance that occurs when the ruling class yells at criminals or subordinates in anger.
i think this translated little bit wrong but this is my best🙏
Great as always guys!! I heard from somewhere that "Daechwita" is actually the korean traditional music that people played as the king steps out of the palace - sort of like parade music. That's why he's like "Daechwita, Daechwita, play it louder, Daechwita." He's literally saying play the music louder, he (the king) is stepping out/arriving. 👑👑👑
One other thing - in Run Episode i think 98/99 that's one of the instances where they mention the funny drawing of BangPD - its just two dots for eyes and a big nose lol they be rudee lol
3:39
i dont know if anyone else thinks this but it sounds like he was describing Hwarang like ........ idk
MIND BLOWSION!!!!!
He was born a slave and became a king. Not by surprise. Not by him finding out he has royal blood. But because he climbed there with his hard work.
Where is the album reaction I'm dying to see your reaction 😭
Fr someone needs to show Suga their reactions
Has anyone else had this masterpiece in their head on a loop since it dropped? I sure the hell have! Agust D is a rap God and master of the tongue technology!
Daechwita (literally "great blowing and hitting") is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching. When the king leaves his palace, huge lines form and all the commoners and servants bow their heads. In front of him are people with horns and instruments playing a song to notify that the king has left his palace and is going for a walk. The beginning of this song is a sample from an actual Daechwita. The starting off of a Daechwita is done by a solo lead of "Jibsa (sort of a conductor)" singing "Myeong-Geum-Il-ha-daechwita-harabsinda", roughly meaning "let the Daechwita begin". The command is served by musicians responding "yeah- yee".
Imagine daechwita being preformed live and thousands and thousands of armys screaming daechwita at the top of their lungs
Last time I was so early... RM’s neck could make money.... now it can make GOLD
Hahahaha meee toooo
The song could make reference to a film called Masquerade, where the king Gwanghaegun uses a joker that looks exactly the same as him to replace him, since his live was threatened. But eventually, his impostor takes control, and the king tries to take his power back.
Also, a detail that most people is unaware of:
In the MV, we see Yoongi with royal clothes, yes, but they are not the king's.
If you look at the dragon's claws in the gold circles, you can see it has 4 fingers.
5 fingers = king
4 fingers= prince
3 fingers= king's grandson
So, basically, maybe the REAL KING is taking back his throne?
A little bit of background:
In fact, Gwanghaegun is mentioned in the lyrics. He was a "genius" king, very smart, and did a lot for his people, he was respected and achieved something that could look impossible.
He was the second son of many wifes that his father, the previous king, had, so it was very unlikely for him to inherit the throne... still, he gained his father and people's favor, and since the king died when his first heir was only 3 years old, Gwanghaegun took the throne.
He was respected and his laws were in favor of the people, yes... but he was ruthless as well, even trying to kill his own little brother that was a threat to his throne. So... yeah, the kind of "off-with-their-heads" guy.
Sorry for any grammar mistakes! I also posted this on the previous video in response to someone talking about the royal clothes!
Tbh I can't wait to see if DKDKTV makes a "Daechwita explained by a korean" because I think that's what we need right now XD Also, they make pretty awesome explanation videos! I personally recommend you to check out "UGH explained by a korean"!
Suga said that in Daechwita, focus more on the visuals of the MV than the lyrics.
So in Daechwita basically this king yoongi is so full of himself, killing whoever he wants, litteraly stepping on his people, then this other yoongi drove to his palace, and basically the king yoongi was having none of it and decide to kill him. It was the slave yoongi that was blindfolded. But it was the king who was blind.
Then at the end you will see that yoongi didn't get killed, the king Yoongi's people betrayed him, and helped slave yoongi.
No matter how powerful the king was. His sword was no match for the slave's Gun.
y’all are my favorite reactors other than anthony too
I really really really really REALLY REEEAAALLLY want you guys to react to the explanation video for the first AGUST D mixtape
I love your vids😃😃💜
Believe it or not Yoongi is actually the great great great grandson of the last empress of south korea. So he basically is a king in real life and a king on stage.
I always love these two's reactions. Everytime they react to something its filled with excitement and hype, and then I CANT HELP BUT BE HYPE TOO
"Daechwita"...i read Its actually like a music gender... an ancient type of music...the sounds you heard come from korean instruments that used to be play when the King was showing off, like in a parade or a big ceremony.
That's why..it says "play it loud daechwita"
I'm here ❤I'm ready to see Ous freak out again😂😂 You guys have some of the best reactions ever🔥Really appreciate y'all🔥
대츼타 is a "military" march composed by several wind and percussion instruments. This march announces and accompany the king on his visit around the town. The main instrument on this parade is also call 대츼타. The traditional song at the beginning of the MV is the 대츼타 itself.
There is a youtuber (Liryonni) that also explains really well all the cultural and historical background of the whole MV. It is so worth it to check it out, if you love Korean culture.
“Sorry, don’t worry” + “Please be healthy” = king of swag
Yoongi, Jin, and Tae have royal blood if you didn't know💜😊
As soon y’all posted this I was listening to the same lyrics
daechwita is actually a korean music genere that used to be performed in royal processions. but in today’s time it’s used on special occasions and military purposes💜
Daechwita is the kind of music played when the king and his army is entering or arriving.. Its the sound that your hearing in the background..

I KNEW so bad Ous was gonna forget everything he had to say, damnittttt😭 still love you, tho
fun fact: Yoongi's clan, the Min clan, are descendants of royal and noble blood. His ancestors were Queens and Empresses and some have said he would have been in line to rule at some point, but obviously times change. So he's actually royal blood!
Suga is the true example of “started from the bottom now we here, started from the bottom now my whole team (bts) here” LIKE HOW IS HE SO POWERFUL???
IM DEAD LMAO THIS WAS GREAT
I was waiting on this!! YESSIRR🥳
To the amount of times I watch the *MV* when I'm listening to the song I'm replaying the *MV* in my head and knows which part is which part. Even the part where *JinKook* pulled up in the back fighting, will forever be hilarious and remembered. Yes, I'm addicted to *"Daechwita"* and I'm not even sober from *"Map Of Soul: 7"* album, so can y'all just imagine how I'm extremely overdosed with these songs now.
'Daechwita' is a traditional Korean musical genre born in the late Joseon dynasty, which used to be performed in royalty processions, was characterized by including wind instruments and percussion. As of today, it has continued to be used on special occasions and for military purposes in Korea.
'Gwanghae' (Gwang-hae)
Prince Gwanghae ruled as King of Joseon Korea from 1608 until 1623, when he was overthrown in a coup led by his political opponents.
Please react to the lyrics for his song “what do you think?” They’re pretty lit 👀
Why do i feel they have to eat popcorn before getting lit?😂
Don’t know if someone’s said it yet but Yoongi is actually descended from the last empress of korea, so he technically does have royal blood

I thought y’all would react to the album first 😔...guess I’ll have to wait R.I.P. 💀
I was literally waiting for this reaction 😭😂
for references, gwanghae is one of the king depossed in josun dynasty.
and duiju(rice chest). you can refer sado-seaja story. one of the prince died in rice chest because of order from king.
so i see you've got umpteen people telling you "daechwita" is a traditional type of music that was played when a king was walking around outside his palace, basically signalling to all the commoners "the king is coming, y'all better act right." but the vocals at the very beginning are a re-creation of what the daechwita would've actually sounded like back in the day - the vocalist calls out something like "signal the gong, we will perform the daechwita" and the musicians answer "yes," then the gong starts and the other instruments fall in. if you're a commoner in historical korea and you hear that, you know it's time to literally bow down - which works pretty damn well for suga, too lmao
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss for the first time 27 seconds agooooo!!!!
Kookie is fighting with Jin in the m/v
This is gonna be a lit concert 🔥🔥
as to what daechwita means: Daechwita is a traditional form of Korean music which used to be played upon a kings arrival meaning to show off the kings power. Basically yoongi's song is about how he went from rags to riches and now they should play Daechwita wherever he goes so that haters know who's king.
(i got it off twitter. cred to op)
Damn I've never been this early
I love this channel so much y'all make my they evertime
I think Daechwita means a music something like that connected to royalties and something like that
king is wang in korean, daechwita is like a beat that is traditional like drums that people march to
Suga is actually related to the last King and Queen of South Korea 💜,,,so....he really have a royal blood,,,,,He is literally our King🤟🤟
.....for more info you can find it in google,,,,,,Jin and Taehyung have royal blood too because their last name is Kim,,,,if you ask why Namjoon doesnt,Because RM last name had different clan from V and Jin last name😏,,So that means we literally stan KINGS....
This is connected to shadow cuz remember he used to say i wanna be a king i wanna be a rap star, and black haur agust d is a slave and the blond one is the bad king who is getting to much powerand the black hair agust d is killed the blond agust d cuz the black hair agust d was trying to save him blond was killing innocent ppl and the too much power he got so black hair agust d killed him to save the ppl from the bad king

the fact that Yoongi HAS royal blood makes this even sexier.
2:34 Daechwita literally means "The Great Hit" and is the marching tune for when royalty has a procession, especially like a welcome to a King, back in the Joseon dynasty. The sample in the beginning is an authentic Daechwita.
Note: I think this wasn't a diss track aimed at anyone in particular but to a group of people. If the shoe fits.
Daechwita is a genre of Korean traditional music played by percussion instruments. Which is then performed when a King is marching. Hope that answers your question.
