You should take a look at Mac ritchie reservoir and the tree top walk. It has a nice combination of old swarms, rain forests, wild life and a tree top bridge overlooking dense forest area. Away from any buildings. Pretty easy to trek too.

hi DJ - I just moved from HK earlier this year and used to follow your guides there. Singapore is nothing like HK of course. I'm more of a mountain biker here, but highly recommend the hiking trails around east Pulau Ubin. Head up north coast. Some amazing wildlife, but don''t get there TOO early or you will be restricted on wetland park entry. I'd offer to guide you but i had a bike accident yesterday :(
I love riding Ketam trail on the west side of Ubin.
Otherwise you have walking trails around Bukit Timah and Chestnuts - separated from the MTB trails

Thanks Tim I only had one day to hike in Singapore as was there for another event. Back in Hong Kong now but might take you up on the offer if I get back there soon.

It was nice bumping in to you and glad to see that you found your way. I agree that the surface beyond Rail Mall is the best.
How do you compare the heat here in Singapore to Hong Kong in the summer? Similar?

Great to meet you too Jeff and lucky I met you when I did aster was a few hikers stuck at the bridge. I did not find the heat too bad in on the day I did the trail, I guess coming out of a Hong Kong summer I was used to it. Hope to see you back in Hong Kong soon.
