    Handy keyboard shortut is 'Alt + ;' which adds a properly formatted ellipsis (…) into the text. I use it all the time.
    Great work as always, Gary!

    Also, if you click reply and attachments are not included, before you click send there is a button in the button bar to reattach the attachments.

    Great stuff. Was struggling there

    Very helpful. Sometimes I get mail asking me to choose certain dates or select an item from a list. Rather than typing that all over again in my response, or quoting the whole email I was sent, I now see that I could choose the pertinent text in a quote and add my response right after the quote. Looks much tidier and concise.

    Mail app features are hardly ever the subject of a video. Thank you! One question: do quote levels increase each time the recipient or sender reply?

    • @macmost
      @macmost  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes. Well, if you have it set to increase it will when you reply. How it works when someone replies is up to their settings.

    I really thought this video was going to be review of things I already knew but I was totally wrong. Great job presenting Apple mail and the quote feature. I hope you can do even more Apple mail videos because it seems to be looked over too much.
    I changed some mail settings/signature settings after watching this video and now things that were somewhat annoying will no longer be 👏🏽

    Very useful. I've long thought Apple Mail is one of the best out there. I use rules quite a bit. All my mail is sorted by the time I get to it. I did not know about marking up an image. Cool.

    I like the Mail app, but sometimes the message text in the right pane is blank. It takes moments to minutes before the text finally gets rendered. Only on my Intel mac, not my M1. Weird. Anyway, thanks for the insight Gary.

    • @macmost
      @macmost  Před 9 měsíci

      The Mail app depends on your email service. If that is slow or your connection is slow then it can't do anything except wait for the data.

    Thanks for the video, lots of insight, as always. 👍 However, there is this one thing I never found out, and I am guessing a lot of users experience the same issue: When composing an email on iPhone, I sometimes copy/paste some text portions from other sources. Oftentimes, after inserting such a text portion, it differs from the rest of the text in style or size. Even though Im using Apple Mail for decades now, I never found a solution to this behavior. Do you have an idea how to format or adjust all text to be of similar size and type in such a case?

    • @macmost
      @macmost  Před 5 měsíci

      On the iPhone, no I can't think of an easy way to do that. Best to use a Mac/PC if you need to control the formatting of text in your replies with that much detail.

      @@macmost Gary, thank you for your immediate reply. I was afraid that you would say exactly that. ;)

    Great info however I wish I could use MacMail effectively. When set-up as IMAP to MS one of the folders is not showing in MacMail, when set-up as Exchange the missing folder shows but all Sent emails show From instead of To. Using Sonoma

    • @macmost
      @macmost  Před 9 měsíci

      Perhaps look at the server-side setting for that account? I don't use MS email, but in Gmail, for instance, you can specify which folders (labels) show up when using IMAP.

    Could somebody please help me with a question that I can’t find an answer to? I want to know if it is possible to create a formula within a specific cell that is only active on a specific realtime date taken from the date on my iPhone on Numbers or is what I’m asking to complicated and actually impossible? I hope it is ok to ask here and if not I apologise. Many thanks in advance.

    • @macmost
      @macmost  Před 9 měsíci

      Not sure what you are trying to do. So this formula does what, exactly? And why is it only "active" on a specific date? What would it do if it was another date?

    Does anyone has found a way to have on the badge's mail on iOS/iPad, only the number of the emails received from the last check and not the total unread mails? (As it possibile on Android)

    • @macmost
      @macmost  Před 9 měsíci

      It shows the unread count, not emails received which would constantly update.

    • @fra8156
      @fra8156 Před 9 měsíci

      Yes, but on Android I can use this badge to show only the emails received from last check, and this is more useful than have the total unread mails (that could be thousands). I can't use my iphone for this reason :)))
