“Stop talking about this technology”
Sometimes the constant chatter about technology can be exhausting to those who prefer urgency and action over constant talks and pledges. It is a frustration that we understand only too well.
With a lot of misinformation sprinkled with good intentions out there, the important point that one needs to understand is that technology is not meant to be fashion’s saviour but what it can do is play a key role in solving some of the problems faced by the fashion industry. It can maybe provide long term solutions over short term ones.
All in all, it is time to move on from convincing an industry because if they are not on board now the chances are they will never be. Let’s stop trying to put out the small fires 🔥 when their is raging one in the back.
The conversation took place at Munich Fabric Start’s KEYHOUSE stage, September 2022. It was a talk between Muchaneta, Sanne van den Dungen, co-Founder and Circularity Expert for Yasasreeviroha Impex Private Limited and Niccy Kol, brand and impact Catalyst, Raddis Cotton. Their discussion focused on a “farm-to-fashion” cotton-value-chain in which the brand is supportive from the seed onwards, enabling the farm to develop a resilient eco-system through regenerative farming.
