There have been some good studies of the battle between good and evil. This is one. The Exorcist and The Shining are also examples. The Iron Maiden music accents the power, intention, and menace of evil forces--personified by a car in this instance. A lot more technical effort went into this film than other horror movies of this time. If you see the first victim on the bicycle fall from the bridge. That was a seriously high distance for a stuntman to drop. Also onother scene at the cemetary the car skids around in circles and the engine seems to make a wailing noise. That attention to detail was amazing.
