I question whether he actually wanted to look any different than this or not; he already had a nose job in this footage (the result of being called "big nose" all his life, up to this point) and he was already showing signs of lupus and vitiligo (which often to together and he was, indeed, diagnosed with both). In 84, his hair caught on fire, and sometime around this period, he fell and broke his nose. They tried to fix the burn with a skin-stretching medical balloon, that kept making the problem worse as the lupus resulted in it never healing. It's quite reasonable that his nose was a similar situation. Essentially, the same disease that killed his pigmentation also prevented healing from a regular nose job + a nose break + an ever-expanding head burn. He eventually wore wigs full time and had a plate in his head.
TLDR: I'm not sure it's right to blame his end-of-life appearance on insecurities. Rather, insecurities that many of us have, combined with genuine, physical illness.
@@Peaches-N-MangoYes, good point and thanks for the info. Whether he wanted to look different than this or not is indeed the question. However, it is widely known that he was not happy about his appearance especially in this stage of his life. I just wish he knew he was pretty. Even though he couldn’t help that his appearance will be changed a lot from this point.

@@peverilngehngeh8536 yes, I know. And I also know that his hair was burnt. So his changing appearance because of that was not his own choice. However, there are also signs that he did plastic surgery for other reasons, which he regretted later. He said that himself in private tapes that have been recorded. That is why I wish he knew he was pretty and that he didn’t need plastic surgery at all.

You are very perceptive and a good judge of people. Yes, you are right... MJ was always kind and had EXTREMELY clean energy even at every stage in his career. (even when he could have been an arrogant jerk). Unfortunately, that's why so many dark forces/dark energy people were drawn to him. 😒He was beautiful inside and out until the day he passed away. I miss him being in this world dearly.

This is at the height of Michael Career! Just like Michael Jordan, everybody wanted to be like Michael Jackson. I remember after his Motown 25th performances the next day at school, on the bus rap, OMG everybody was doing Michael Jackson, and I do mean everybody from the students to the teachers. Those we're some beautiful times. That was a day to remember.

@@Chuck_EL a lot of his trademark moves were established in the 80s. If you really pay attention to his artistry, you'll see that the Bad Tour and onwards were more polished and perfected versions of the Victory Tour.
Thanks to Michael shrimp from breakin. Watch the Motown 1983 tour and watch this victory tour you would see a difference. Michael is more pop and gliding. The Motown tour he was more classical dancing and his moonwalk was more closed in while here his moonwalk is more loose. Michael shrimp enhance Michael jackson moves. If you watch Michael jackson bad music video you that came out in the late 80s you would see he is wearing the same outfit Michael shrimp was wearing in breakin 1984. Michael shrimp was one of the best dancers in the 80s. Michael would surround himself around the best. Rick bakery who did American werewolf in London helped Michael with his thriller vid. Rick baker is one of the greatest practical effects makeup effects creator.

I agree :( For years we keep getting short snippets of various concert and other scenes, yet they release nothing in full. Horrible. They could make a lot of money by releasing everything they have.

There's a whole story about that. Legend has it that Paramount was ready to sign a deal with The Jacksons to film the shows and put together a film to be released theatrically. All were on board except for Michael, who hired a film crew to film the shows so he could put something together. But the brothers legally blocked its release.

2:26 Seeing Michael playing around with The Werewolf Make-Up from Thriller is amusing for some reason (And yes he is indeed a Werewolf in The Music Video and not a Werecat... I get the whiskers are distracting enough to confuse it for a cat but it's a Werewolf. Remember Michael was inspired by films like Night Of The Living Dead & An American Werewolf in London (Hence why he worked with John Landis and Rick Baker who worked on that film)
I know we have the making of Thriller but I wish more footage was released with Michael and his Werewolf make-up. That sequence absolutely traumatized me as a kid.
