- Pithapuram Election Results 2024: A sizeable Kapu community voters and anti-incumbency helped Jana Sena chief Pawan Klayan in the Pithapuram assembly segment. He won the seat with a comfortable majority of over 70,000 votes against his rival YSR Congress party's Vanga Geetha.
In a closely contested Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was set to return for a third term, though his BJP-led NDA coalition fell short of expectations in the face of a surprisingly strong showing by the opposition INDIA bloc. Despite aiming for over 400 seats, the NDA was hovering around 290 seats, hamstrung by an underwhelming performance in the bellwether state of Uttar Pradesh. A revitalised INDIA bloc was ahead on 235 seats.
The BJP, which had set a target of 370 seats, is leading on 243 seats, falling short of the majority mark of 272 and significantly below exit poll forecasts. The Congress is on track to win over 95 seats, a substantial increase from its 2019 tally of 52 seats. Others, including regional outfits and Independents, were ahead in 18 seats.

I am not from AP and have read this a few times. Can you please give me info on what positives it will bring once it has special status? I'm not trying to be offensive just curiously asking.
Would it in anyway affect mentality of other states to get special status if AP asks for it? Are there any other alternatives for AP to grow without special status? Just wanted to know from someone who has seen the state from inside. Thanks.
@@RaviThakorR Special status means centre will find 75-90% of the infrastructure projects like roads,metro or airport of the state. Generally, it is 50% for a normal state. It will help the state to grow quickly. As AP doesn't have capital now, it will help the state to invest heavily in the newly planned capital city amaravathi.

AP had to bear grave injustice for 10 years. The state really suffered economically after bifurcation in 2014. Funds due and deserving were not released by Modi. Other states flourished after bifurcation but not Andhra. Hence asking for special status
