The Uneducated people are flooding everywhere! You guys don't even know the meaning of barrages, that's not a dam. Learn the differences between them from me now. Barrages are meant to stop the pressure to the controllable level and then divert them accordingly. Even though barrages have storage which is significantly very much less when compared to dams. That's why dams are constructed at very high altitude to store maximum possible to its construction and inflow capacity, if the inflow is severe they immediately release the gates one by one depending on the inflow pressure. Where as Barrages are not actually meant for storage purposes. That's why barrages are constructed at very low altitude!
