Tardigrade, known as water bears. 22:44
Gotta give Paul Rudd a lot of credit for the scene where he plays Janet. His voice and body language all change. He's a great actor that gets overlooked because he mostly just does comedy.
One thing I really like about this movie is the fact that Ghost aka Ava Starr was not a villain, just someone who wanted to survive.
Yeah, she's the perfect morally grey villain👍
@@Agent.Bob58 she was grey..literally..like her outfit
@@itzmehDevi true lol
@@Agent.Bob58 lmao
@@Agent.Bob58 Not really sure I can say villain. I mean, yea, she was willing to hurt Cassie or Janet, and even Morphius at the end, but she was literally on like 48-72 hours from death. Desperation and the will to survive can push people to horrible things.
So, the ant movie playing at the mini-drive-in was "THEM!", the original animals-made-huge-by-radiation movie and an absolute CLASSIC that deserves a reaction of its own.
Basically Ant Man and Hawkeye were under house arrest and is why they were not in Infinity Wars
No Hawkeye retired per Natasha
@@TheIcemanthomas He was still under house arrest per scene one of Endgame.
@@TheIcemanthomasNo she said in Infinity War he was on House Arrest, watch the movies
No duh that was said in Infinity War
@@randycrawford1132 It was said yes but actually shown in Endgame right at the beginning.
HA!!! That made me laugh out loud, the whole "I was paranoid for no reason" right before that post credit scene. Well timed!!
There are a lot of great funny moments throughout this movie, but my personal favorite was Hank roasting Scott by “picking him up from school.”
Ava interrupting Burch’s interrogation and the meddling seagulls are a close second and third.
All jokes aside, my biggest takeaway from this movie is that it’s heavily focused on the father-daughter dynamic.
First, there’s Scott and Cassie. Despite everything that’s happened, Scott is very creative about playtime. Cassie also continues to be his moral support, and she’s not mad about his situation. If anything, she’s his beacon of hope when it feels like there isn’t any left.
Then there’s Hank and Hope. Last time, Hope wasn’t on very good terms until Scott convinced her through some perspective.
After they healed, Hope was finally able to become the Wasp. More importantly, she and Hank were in better sync than ever.
And finally, we have Dr. Bill Foster and Ava. She lost her parents when she was young. Then SHIELD weaponizes her. Something worth remembering is that some of them were HYDRA. After it fell, Dr. Foster was the only one able to help her. He also kept her in check. Even after she got desperate, Dr. Foster refused to give up on her.
All three father/daughter relationships were very cool and fun to see.
I went to a top science and engineering school back in the 70s and 80s, and one thing we used to do for this annual party is build rides. The ride at the beginning of the movie reminds me of one of the rides we TRIED to build (we had to abandon it because the vehicle would tend to go off the tracks). But other years, we made a jungle cruise, an ice ride, and a much simpler roller coaster. I personally also designed and supervised the building of a 3-D walk/crawl/climb-thru maze that was a big hit. Give an engineer access to a lot of free building materials, and cardboard and electricity, and you never know what you'll end up with.
One of my favourite things about the movie is seeing Scott playing with Cassie during his house arrest since Scott was already in jail and missed out her life during the first movie. And I can’t wait for your next MCU movie reaction.
Totally agree
Also the whole family dynamic. It's not him on one side and his wife and her new husband on the other. They're all a family together with Cassie. It's great to see a "non-traditional" family in fiction that's actually healthy and happy, instead of bitter and angry.
@@PaulGuy The new husband, particularly. It would have been very easy to make him an asshole. But even in the first film when he didn't like or trust Scott, he was still a good guy, and was always careful about how he talked about Scott in front of Cassie.
I'm happy to hear your unbiased opinions on these movies that are really underrated. People nowadays decide to hate movies before they even come out. This was a gem of a movie
Hi Emme!🙂The classroom scene was filmed at Emory Universary in Georgia. Long hair does suit Evangeline Lilly better. Well, you were right to worry about Hank & Janet as the end credit scene proved. Great reactions to you fun second Ant Man film, Emme!!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love the Ant-Man and Wasp series within the MCU, I really though "Ant-Man", how are they going to make that work, but they did it, and it so well. It had to be a action-comedy, and lucky for us Marvel knew that. Some people wonder what was the point of this movie with everything else happening in the MCU, but this sets up Scott's part in what's to come, but also introduces Ghost who will later join the Young Avengers.
Speaking of hair styles, yours looks great and love the nose piercing.
Girl. Your lisp is ADORABLE. Embrace the cuteness!
Everything's all fun and games until the end credits scene shows up
Emme plays the drums??? ROCK ON!
Due to the results of Civil War, both Clint & Scott has to take a plea deal so they could be with their families.
The rest were on the run.
Oh god this was amazing. Watching you over the course of the movie SO SURE that everything was going to go wrong, and Janet was going to be dead, and Hank wasn't going to make it back, and Hope was going to lose both her parents, and then watching the movie slowly, slowly convince you that no, everything was actually going to be okay, and all of this KNOWING what was coming. This made my day. Thank you. :)
Berkeley is one of the premiere schools for engineering and physics in the US, so that would make sense. I forget sometimes (and am glad) that you are in CA. The magic that Jimmy is practicing shows up in other shows as well. I cannot wait until you watch Captain Marvel and Endgame! Really looking forward to it!
4:14 Pete the Logic Lock before Human Resources.
I like Woo Randall Park, is such a likable person, you can't help but like him
Great reaction!
I loved these Ant-Man movies. They were such fun stories that were completely different than the main MCU storyline, even though they tied in. As I said before, these are the kinds of super-hero stories I read in comics. Local and small scale with people who felt real instead of the much larger than life ones with their names on the movies. Scott is all about Cassie, and that is a real thing. That is why these movies are among my favorites because it's not all aliens from outer space or destruction of half the population, it's about real things that people have an easier time identifying with. And I love the good, positive, and strong relationship between Scott, Cassie, Scott's ex, and Paxton. Just so heartwarming. 🙂
That last scene was a kick in the guts though. Such a feel good movie, and then... 😲
22:31 I remember going down lombard street when I owned a car that had bad brakes and a horrible turn radius 🤠
Emme, your slight lisp is endearing and your voice is very enjoyable. Reason why I like watching your videos!
Yeah, we all had the same reaction at the end 😢 Lots of laughs and smiles and then just gasps 😭😭😭
Sad thing is that if Ava / Ghost isn't able to get her particles she would presumably die still. Which given the current situation... seems likely.
Maybe she got dusted
I love Paul Rudd so much
"Sometimes good things happen, I guess" oh honey
Not dust mites, but tardigrades!!! Water bears! Moss piglets!!! They're adorable.
30:40 Ha!
There is a lot to like about this movie. One of my favorite things that they carried over from the end of the first Ant-Man movie is that Paxton (Cassie's step-dad) is actually a cool guy who likes Scott and they all four get along well. It would be so easy to write his as a total douche and have an antagonistic relationship with Scott.
John Krasinski is amazing in it!
The actress that plays ghost was on a great sci-fi show called Killjoys. Might be a good watch.
She's also in "Ready Player One" she pays the evil hench-woman. It's hard to believe it's the same actress, because the characters are so different
she was also in the tomb Raider Reboot and the new resident evil film.
Do it on Antman and the Wasp Quantumania for the first time.
It's so weird when people ask how Janet survived after we see her change the way Hank's body works. Some people ask even after she does the whole adaption and evolution speech.
This is one of my favorite MCU movies. It's just so fun and light-hearted, and the story is kinda non-sensical so you can start watching at any point and still enjoy the ride. Plus the villain (not Ghost, the southern gentleman) and wombats are pretty hysterical. BABA YAGA!
The things you thought might be dust mites are called Tardigrades. You should look them up! One of the most interesting creatures on the planet!
Looking forward to watching the next Marvel movie with you Emme 😂😅
Half the world Emme? It was half of the UNIVERSE! Half the universe was murdered!
26:00 my thoughts exactly!
Why the "don't get arrested" remark?
Travelling office 😅❤
I can understand being self-concious of your slight lisp, I hate the sound of my own voice (it's too mild for me), but fr what it's worth, your lisp is quite pleasant 👍
Time to watch the worlds greatest grandma! 🤩
Hawkeye was given a choice... Sign the Accords or Retire . But he WILL Return.
I would love to see your reaction to Shang Chi.
Your lisp is adorable. Never forget it.
Seconding this.
Ghost is the best, they should make her own cinema!
She's coming back in the Thunderbolts movie.
@@carlgibson285 yo thx man, waiting 2024 year
That's UC Berkeley
Spoiler notice:
I've only just noticed this for the first time.
Hank Pym's quantum travel suit bears a resemblance to the suits that Stark and Banner create later, now that is great continuity.
RIP Stan Lee."You Can Do Anything. You're The World's Greatest Grandma."Well, The '60s Were Fun, But Now I'm Paying For It!""There's No Such Thing As Truth Serum.""Hiya, Champ, How Was School Today?""If I Had, You'd Have Never Been Caught.""We Look Like Ourselves At A Baseball Game."
"Sounds to me like you didn't really get the gist of the game." "Baba Yaga!" "You put the dime in him, you gotta let the song play out."
Under-rated fun ride
Antman lives in San Francisco the Avengers or in New York west coast east coast
14:11 hahaha 😆🤣😂
It's funny you think her hair looks better here, i think it ages her so much and prefer her sharper cut in the first film.
You can just say Hope instead of Wasp (nobody really calls them by their superhero name), don't feel down about it, it's an endearing characteristic of you.
Elihas Starr a.k.a. Egghead a villain of Hank Pym a.k.a. the original Ant-Man. He was a mad scientist type.
Ghost is an Iron Man villain who wears a suit that provides invisibility and intangibility. Both of which are handy for high tech espionage
Tartigrades are microscopic organisms so yep...smaller than dust mites...lol 😆
I’m pretty sure you got this but just in case, its half the population of the universe not just earth👍
Just curious: What's the deal with "...and please don't get arrested?" I've been wondering for awhile and I feel like there's a story there.
*half of all life in the universe, or at least sentient life confusing concept as that is
It's definitely all life. It's stated later on.
@@PaulGuy plants and animals too?
BRB off to get arrested!
"Was that a wasp?" Uh...yes it was a Wasp lol
I love 💜💜💜💜💜
Whasuuuup!
Great reaction as always Emme, the timing was brilliant...
"Maybe I was worried for no reason "
(Cue the snap)
😂
Also, when Janet mentions evolution, a small amount of hope comes out for the X Men.
Elihas Starr is a comic book villain called lol
Egghead. Head literally shaped like an egg
Not to be confused with Egghead from the old Adam West Batman TV show, played by Vincent Price. "Eggcelent!"
Hm.
Q
Paul Rudd is the best
I gotta say in all honesty I liked ant man 3 better
If it wasn’t for your calming voice Emme, I would have mistaken you for Hope Van Dyne.😂❤️🐜🐝
I miss this Cassie. She got recast again after Endgame. The third actress is alright, but she ain’t the same. They didn’t even tell Emma.
I didn’t like the new Cassie. She was obnoxious and unlikable. Kathryn Newton was clearly not the best casting choice for the role.
@@jacksonconley5117I like how you think recasting her would change the character XD she would still be “unlikable” & “obnoxious”
"You've grown a bit, so I'm calling you bumble bee".. why not just go with "bee" ?
Emme and young Cassie kinda lookalike littlebit yea?
This movie is pretty good and Captain Marvel is good enough. But man, they were REALLY hard to watch at the time because we just wanted to get back to the Thanos story and see how the good guys win.
