The LEGO 10303 Loop Coaster is a beast of a LEGO set on so many levels! Come and find out why in my early review.

Fun Fact: The drop down is a L, the 2 loops are the Os, and the bottom turn is a P, which spells LOOP
omg that actually really cool 😁
I never noticed that thanks for sharing
Whoa neat!
Bit of a stretch to call that bottom turn a “P”.
That’s kinda cook
I absolutely LOVE how they include all 4 banned items in the set, giving you a chance to break all the rules at the same time, or reenact the stories behind WHY the items were banned in the first place. So many imaginative opportunities...
Great review!
Wait what were they
@@davidholt7645 hats, balloons, hot dogs (maybe food in general), and squirrels
@@davidholt7645 banned as in, to take onto the rollercoaster, like seen at around 4:00
@Beskar Bricks, may want to add glasses to that list as well.
Hi B3 loved 22-ville
This is one of the top Lego display pieces I’ve ever seen. If someone has a collectibles/Lego/toy storefront I could easily see this as a showcase piece with the power function installed.
Me too
I remember when KNex used to be popular and Toy stores used to have motorised Ferris wheels or Carousels etc made out of it in the shop windows. It was always exciting to see as a kid.
@@randomphil8666 totally agree, it’s also what made FAO Schwarz so popular, being able to see and touch the displays operating outside of the toy box. This set has that appeal to me and the functionality sets it apart from being just another model kit type set.
The one thing I was worried about was how quickly the lift would be able to get back to the bottom. I'm very glad it manages to beat the carts to the bottom even with the ride only last a few seconds.
Even if it doesn't, there's the stopper mechanism so it won't break itself. The whole mechanism is blowing my freaking mind...
This just doesnt feel like an official lego set
You're actually the only reviewer, who doesn't waste my time. You're always on point, you don't use fillers and lengthy explanations and it's still entertaining. Speaking as an engineer.
I do like the bold colors of the set, kids will like it.
As a person who had one of those Knex roller coasters I was hoping this would be more of a stripped down roller coaster that focused on just the roller coaster elements instead of having the set be half theming half roller coaster. Plus having a purely coaster dedicated set would also help out the enthusiasts by getting a better bang for their buck on coaster-specific pieces.
I agree with this, I am a massive enthusiast, and while this set looks great, I feel like we need some cheaper coaster sets, that focus on layout and theming rather than just one!
Although its not a LEGO brand, but it is compatible. Search for CDX blocks. No-fluff coaster kits. Lower friction wheels as well. Longer layouts possible.
I think that price is the real killer for me. I think the old coaster actually looks cooler, but having two loops is a decent ride if there was somehow a way to connect them together into an even larger coaster that might have been sweet!
You probably could connect them together if you tried
You could buy more track pieces and expand it.
@@gj9157 You don't even need more track pieces. Other people have connected the old one and the new one and made it work with just some smaller pieces to connect them
I noticed that Lego are making a LOT of errors in their instructions booklets recently. Not a huge concern but the quality control could be improved.
Quality is going downhill since a few years in general.
The color deviations LEGO has on some colors (lime green, red, white) is atrocious, especially for their price range.
@@sebastianmitderaxt203 on my Technic Sian color difference between the green pieces is horrendous
I agree, many unnecessary errors in instructions that should be obvious recently. At least it has never been a real issue so far.
@@rudragupta2491 I can't prove it, but the best guess as to why is: different factories in different regions are designated for specific parts.
As in one factory only has the molds for standard technic beams, 1 other factory has the molds for the panels and 1 other has the molds for the small stuff like connectors and 1x1 lift arm pieces and such.
And all factories have different suppliers for color pigments or colored plastic (depending if lego colors their plastic themselves or if they buy colored plastic grain) and thus have slight color differences.
The Sian is a prominent example of this, but I hear the Creator Fiat 500 was even worse.
Even the backside of the new Pyramid set has color changes in the tan pieces
There’s a reason the mustard is so expensive: there’s no mold for that yet! :P
As soon as I saw the first image on Reddit I was like: ‘that’s it, that’s my first €150+ set.’ Yes I know it’s big. Yes I know I probably don’t have any space. But you know what they say: where there’s a will, there’s a way (or at least, they say that in The Netherlands) and in this case: where there’s a will, there’s SPAAAAACE. I will literally create the universe’s first pocket dimension if that’s what it takes. I love this in every way possible.
That's the most action I've ever seen in a lego product
Lights on this build are going to look amazing specially if they put lights around the loop sign.
I appreciate your sincere reviews. Thank you for adding the power functions so we could witness the coaster in automation--so helpful.
Imagine all the previous roller coaster and carnival sets all together as a massive amusement park... It'd be massive
For sure!
I do have all the previous sets. I think I need a new house to display them all at once. 🤣
@@TiagoCatarino you should combine the old coaster and new coaster with extra track pieces
I think at some point, the huge size of a set loses its appeal when it becomes too large. For sure its impressive to see, but kind of excessive to own. The way this coaster moves is quite satisfying to watch though and does justify the height, although I would still prefer more track than supporting structure. Speaking of track, it's very nice how they included so many 'spares' in this set for alternate builds. I really like a lot of the little design decisions in recent sets such as this one, too bad the prices are going way up.
Can confirm! I have the Titanic set and now that I’ve spent so much time with it, the size is much less impressive. Still an unbelievably amazing set, but honestly it’s mainly the small details that does it for me.
I do believe they kinda have "little choice" for sets like this one. If the rail cars are minifig-scaled, then they need a certain amount of momentum to clear the track. And to clear that track, you will need a certain height to make it work.
I am going to buy it, even though I have no space for it right now! :D
@@huaiwei Same dude. 🤣 I’ll make space
I cannot believe how flawlessly this seems to run! I'm so pleasantly surprised! Thanks for getting this out so quickly!
you better not believe it because it doesn`t.

yea im starting to panic... I didnt want to buy it before but now I want it so bad
I have a question for you 😀
What if Lego uses a illegal building technique? Is it still considered a illegal thing to do?
This is the new Lego era!
Thanks for this, it’s the first real video I’ve seen on it. I’m getting it for my birthday and last week I bought the motor and battery box as we all know they’ll sell out. Cheers Tiago.
Reminds me of K'nex. My mom had a bunch of those sets, and would build them when she was feeling stressed; I remember helping her with some.
Man your videos always make me know what my next set is gonna be. Keep it up TC!
Ok I was on the fence but I’m getting this! As an engineer, this definitely excites me.
The lift reminds me of that weird lift on the tilt coaster in RCT3
4:38 To me that looks less like a regular earpiece and more like a hearing aid
I haven't been watching much youtube but i needed to watch this! This set is so amazing, and hopefully I can get it.
this was defenetly inspired on half-asleep chris coaster with two loops and a vertical drop but shorter
I doubt it! Ever since the first roller coaster I’ve seen designers trying loop designs at the LEGO offices
@@TiagoCatarino wow so cool
3:50 the little boy uses Jay’s torso form the Ninjago City Gardens set, so that one isn’t new.
So excited for this one!!!!
Need to add several hats at the bottom of the loop for authenticity.
Very Awesome, review Tiago this set looks amazing it’s pretty spectacular what Lego creates every year!
Can you build this as a mini moc like you did with the Titanic, at-at and the home alone house+IT would be awesome
About time Lego made a roller coaster with a loop
True
Since im a coaster enthusiast ive been for a set like this for a long time. finally!
You are one of the best and honest reviewer! Don't forget your other skill as lego designer! Make this set in mini version!
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
I got the Optimus after watching your video on it thank you so much for that Tiago!! New sub!
Awesome review Tiago. We are already excited to add this to our Fairground collection, but the mechanism engineering you detailed here makes me even more interested. In an aside, after paying US$14.50 for a stuffed pickle corn dog at Disney last week, those basic dog prices are very affordable. 🙂
Half-Asleep Chris is totally gonna make a video of him combining this with the other roller coaster
3:50 The blond kid's torso as been already used in Ninjago city gardens for Jay
I think the hot dog prices are perfectly accurate to fairground/amusement park food prices
Sure but almost 2x the price of a regular hotdog seems a bit much no? 😂
Great review! Thanks!!
I'm looking forward to seeing MOCers getting multiple sets of this and seeing what fantastic roller coasters they will make. A good merging of Rude Goldberg machines and roller coasters could make some awesome rides.
This is an very unique set since Lego really hadn’t done anything too similar (besides the other Lego coaster) I have very fun memories with Lego such as the castle set and the White House with a few Lego cars and Harry Potter sets.
"An enjoyable building experience"
>Shows a 92cm long elevator.-chain made out of single pieces
I wish the ride was a bit longer, considering it’s 400 dollars
It's an amazing set, with very impressive engineering.
However besides for the loops there's not much track, it should be longer.
There is some extra track in the set by the roof of the entrance, so I'm looking forward to see MOCS of this set.
The track is in the shape of the letters of loop.
true. wish it was a lot cheaper though. if you're considering price per part, this is significantly higher. you could get two of the lego saturn fives for 240 dollars (plus shipping and etc), and you'd have significantly more pieces. then again, they may lower the price considering the saturn v used to cost like 350 dollars
@@vert_exium Price per piece I think it’s pretty good. Saturn V is an older set and inflation has gone up a ton, plus considering all the special track pieces and mechanisms for the elevator I think it’s decent.
@@rebelfriend8817 true. there are some pieces (such as the track) that are (I'm guessing) going to be pretty valuable in the future
yer same thort. 😊
@tiago, great video, I love your detailed reviews
Thanks again for another great review.
I have the 10261 rollercoaster, which 380 dollars is plenty of enough for me. I also like the details on the older roller coaster better, it had more walking paths and the ride is longer. But still, this new one looks amazing and has great features!
yer same thort. .😊 this one doe s look good. but I got plan s .to add to this one
I'm looking to buy the older set. Can't seem to find one for a reasonable price.
@@robrineer6013 I have it, honestly a really amazing set, the ride lasts for a while and it looks amazing.
Always wanted to own a LEGO looping coaster and this one looks amazing. But find it a bit ridiculous that there still are stickers in this $400 set.
This is so satisfying. 😍
I'm happy it has a lot of spare tracks because If I ever buy this i want it to be a complete ride. The only think I don't like from that set is that it's not a complete ride. So considering the spare tracks and the long chain that this set provides I don't mind it because It seems customizable at least to make it a full ride.
Great review, keep up the awesome content.
I didn't even know this came out and now I want it
This is one of the coolest Lego sets I've ever seen❗Great review gang 🔥🔥🔥
I can't wait to see someone put a motor where the crank is and have it loop automatically
I did!
@@TiagoCatarino nice
Wow that looks crazy !
Amazing set, a must buy for me. Thanks for the review! Already bought the motor and battery in anticipation.
rollercoaster 2 looks too intense for me :(
Perhaps the next one will be a giant version of the swing-boat GWP that we got last year.
😍 This is the definition of beautifully engineered lego set
Very nice video, thanks for it!
it's a fantastic set I loved it from the first time I 've seen. I 'll find space at home for it!
Good luck!!
Fantastic review as always 👍🏼
Appreciate that!
the old coaster was my favourite set, but this equals it at least
Great review! I will definitely buy this set!
You should!
Great review, Tiago! Thanks for sharing this! I unfortunately don’t know where to place it so I will surely be standing in front of a store staring at it but never owning it… sigh …. Might be a good time to ask the hubby to move to a bigger place, huh? 😂
For this price, the motor should be included.
For that price, all parts should be printed and no sticker included.
Can't wait to see the light kits for this set. Shame I really don't have the room for it.
I had no interest in owning this one before this review, now im taking my tape measure to my Lego room to see if I can squeeze it in somewhere
Subscribed, first time viewer, been a few years LEGO building with my kids. This looks awesome, great review Tiago 👍
Put some minifigures on the counterweight for a 2-in-1 rollercoaster and tower drop ride!
Nobody:
The sign at 4:50 : Lßp :)
That new booklet packaging also came with the Optimus prime set !
For us AFOLs space will be issue number one, next to cash. With Lego releasing more 18+ now per year, I am certainly running out of options. This year we are still waiting on Harry Potter, Eifel Tower and for sure another big Disney display.
Just bought and building it now! Woohoo!
The set looks really cool. Just 2 things i wish they had done different. 1 add a way to fold the tower itself back over it self, so you could easily save half the height when not in use. Second add a bit more track, since it wouldn't really take up more space.
Ok, so it WILL keep going if you motorize it! Prior to this video, I hadn’t seen any info on the lift coming back down and if it was “continuous” or not, so that’s great to know you CAN just turn it on and let it go! Ok, I’m sold!
Will you be reviewing the speed champions DB5 and Dom’s charger?
Looks so cool
The only disadvantage of this set is the price. Its so crazy overpriced. In my opinion its not worth the money. Thanks for the great review.
Wow 10/10 good set
This is next on my list. I'm running out of places to put all these sets.
This set is so damn amazing! 🤩👏 I really wish I could afford this set! 😅🙏🙌
Great review! I would love to see a video on combining this set with the original coaster set into a custom build.
Cant wait it come out on my birthday
3:49 the torso from the kid with mid legs is from Ninjago, more specifically the urban Jay Minifigure from Ninjago city gardens.
This is a strange set for me, it’s massive, don’t know who it’s aimed at and why not power functions included at the cost…
That's amazing!!!
The earpiece on the ride operator could double as a hearing aid!
I need that!!
Love you channel 🤩
Wow nice job Lego!
Thank you for the video.
Hey Tiago, what about showing how it works with the motorized functions without stopping it so we can appreciate the endless loop?
the review is a trash, how motor to make it endless loop is what the audience really want to see
Great set, got it for my son who just passed his grade after working hard this year. He is putting it together right now. Didnt know about the option to motorize it. Seems like a fun addition but shouldnt this option be included in the set? I mean, for $400....?
i need this!
Wow. Just wow!
Sadly I was unable to get the first coaster so I'm gonna have to cop this.
Can you attach power functions to it so you don’t have to do the crank?
