I hated Swan Lake when I was growing up because when I was 7,8,9, and a 10 year old ballet student we had to see the State Ballet's performance, our teacher wanted that way...As a kid it was boring and too much sitting in the theatre and too much sadness during this piece.. And the some parts of the music made me scared as hell when I was a kid.. And they had monsterish figures and everything!!(referring to Rothbart) !! I was scared to watch Harry Potter at that age (thanks to Ralph Fiennes' Voldemort make over)... Then when I became 16, and Black Swan came out and it went pop culture very fast, I thought I won't be able to appreciate this piece... As a 26 year old your and Margot Fonteyn's Odette made me go reconsider this piece three years ago and thank you very very much..I love this piece, I love every dancer who brought sth to his remarkable role! Thank you !!
