Paraglider Takeoff Kaleidoscope XXL #3

  • This is just a simple compilation of more than 220 paraglider take offs performed in 2020 & 2021 (and 1 hang glider ;)). Most of them are single-seated, but there are also several tandem paraglider take offs.
    The mix of various launching techniques (forward launch, reverse launch) in diverse weather conditions and on different take off sites is simply interesting to watch, but hopefully can also contribute for paraglider pilots of any skill level to improve their own take off skills. Watch and reflect what is good and what could be done better. Especially for low-airtime pilots mental training (mental dry runs) can help to preserve or even improve their skills during the time they have no opportunity to fly.
    Of course this is neither a tutorial nor could it replace professional training!
    Although not all take off attempts are successful and some might look risky, thankfully nobody got injured, not even slightly.
    There is no associated sound in this video. So turn on your favourite music and enjoy the show! ;)

    Schon erstaunlich, wie einige ohne Kontrollblick losfliegen 😂
    Der bei 12:54 minuten ist ja der beste 🤣🤣
    Tolles Video 👍👍👍

    Great material. I have done over 500 tandems myself and you can see it well when your friends lack the starting technique.
    Reverse start is essential in the mountains. And paradoxically the easiest in these conditions. As long as you 'hold your horses ...' And when you raise your wings, you will move forward smoothly.
    You gain a sure start and a higher starting point.
    You don't have to run so much. You only need to make four points of that takeoff correctly. The gentleman with the belly showed how it's done. He knows it perfectly ...
    It's nice to remember when I flew in these places myself. So many long flights, searching for a terma all day, or suddenly landing with air flowing from the mountains ...
    Great material and good frame. It does not get boring with too long fragments, it has action in itself.
    Greetings.

      At the places I usually take off, it´s impossible to take off in such a sloppy way. Those guys wouldn´t get it. For example, there are places where you can just run two to three steps, because there is no more room for it.

      I can see most of them, don´t even know how to take off the correct way. Many of them, run in the upright postion, and they sit too early. This all, is very dangerous. You must lean your body forwards, ahead of the carabiners, and even after lift off, you must keep your body forward for several seconds, before sitting down. Very few ones in this video, do it the correct way.

      @@cloudnineparagliding At 12:17 .. It is a harsh to blame someone that might be in full controll of the glider himself! but I think it is a bad signal to fly without the headgear :-) .. Still it is a very beautifull video. I watch this video with a very big smile!

    • @cloudnineparagliding
      @cloudnineparagliding  Před rokem +1

      @@hangkaj Oh yes, very well observed. I know this guy. He is a very experienced instructor. Here he shows his students how to inflate the glider with as little energy as possible, and how to accelerate only after everything is checked. It is not his intention to fly, he just makes a small jump and stalls the glider. I think he dropped the helmet so people could better understand his verbal explanations. Like often, he doesnt even wear shoes 😂
      I understand it makes a bad impression if one doesn't know the circumstances. And even considering that, it might have been better if he wore a helmet...
      Thanks for your remark and always happy landings! 🙂

      Das ist in den Zentraldolomiten, am sogenannten Belvedere, quasi südöstlich gegenüber vom Col Rodella. Willst du die Koordinaten bzw. einen googleMaps-Standort haben?
      Übrigens: Wenn du die Untertitel aktivierst, dann siehst du den jeweiligen Startplatz eingeblendet ;)

    Yeah thnx . IT Is so good! Sometimes you can see people Are just acting for an audience . And Its hard to not to do so sometimes. Kind off funny but i am Fighting this shit also,try to fly for myself And not to be an actor on a stage.

    • @cloudnineparagliding
      @cloudnineparagliding  Před rokem

      If you train groundhandling frequently and you always know how to determine weather conditions and know your strenghts an limits, you can be a safe and proud actor on a beautiful stage :)
      I have to admit, not all pilots in the video reached this skill level yet... ;)
