Espinas being in Sunbreak is massive, this will allow other frontier monsters into the main series now, plus Gore is awesome as well, and Lucent Nargacuga as the first update and the Forlorn Arena? This is looking up to be an absolutely amazing expansion

I still cannot believe this is real. Frontier getting recognized, Gore being in, along with a lot of veteran monsters, old maps... This feels like a new convergence of the series. Plus the title updates seem to hold so much content it's sinking. Crazy. I love you Capcom.
Not to mention this is the first time since 4U, we've gotten rare species that weren't the Metal Raths in mainline games.

Gore is one of my favorite Monsters. I was able to get the preorder that had his statue for 4. I don't regret having to increase the price because that was all they had left in stock. (Guy never showed to pick up his copy within the week so he was refunded and I got it instead.) I do miss Brachydios not being in at the first go but he could be added in the title updates.
@@ArrikKitsune yeah even tho I adore brachy in every way I still think Gore is the most aesthetically pleasing monster to look at. He looks so epic with no eyes and the long flowy cape like wings and wing arms.
This trailer was a certified "Shut up and take my money!" moment. Absolutely mind-blowing, and has the potential to keep me entertained for a very long time. I really can't wait to get into this.
It really was, this is shaping up to be a really outstanding expansion.

As a person who's started mh with 4U it's makes me really happy to see my two emblematic monsters (Seregios and Gore) ones again is amazing and heart warming

I think the director of Sunbreak worked on 4U. That's why the seemingly huge difficulty spike and 2 4U monsters in a row. 4U is brutal, and with them introducing a Frontier monster, of all thing, meaning they are NOT messing around now. (Does that mean Frontier is Canon now?)
Astalos looks incredible in HD. They gave him the iridescent wing effect that Alatreon had in Iceborne, and that will never be unwelcome.
Yeah, that effect really sold his bio-luminescence, even in broad daylight.

And if he looks cool already when boltreaver gets announced alongside Soulseer is going to be crazy, look the silhouette of the second free updates, the flying wyvern isn't that obvious but the second one is clearly mizutsune, and it says "powered up monsters"

A lot of people talked a bunch of crap about Monster Hunter Rise, but let's be honest... every expansion has made every MH game better.
A lot of Monster Hunter Tri fans would disagree with that statement.
ngl world by itself was cool but iceborne was what really made it god tier

@@Zacharie27 I haven't played Tri personally but here is a few common complaints I have seen from players who did.
The pacing of the game is way too rushed. The original Tri had one of the fewest number of Monsters out of any games but they paced each fights very well and made each monsters really interesting and memorable. In comparison with the expansion they bombarded you with monsters and make you rush throught them one after the other.
Secondly the ambience in Tri was a lot better. A lot of this is probably due to the fact that Tri was originally a console game. And 3U is a 3DS game, there is a Wii U version but it's a port of the 3DS version. One big example is that caves in Tri were really dark and you needed to bring torches with you which bought a spooky atmosphere to fights that happened in caves. In 3U they ruined this by making caves a lot brighter and making the torche item completely useless.
They replaced Loc Lac with a new hub. Loc Lac City is seen by many fans as the best Hunter's Hub in the series. Unfortunately you needed to be online to access the city and since the Wii online was shut down a long time ago and that as I said the city isn't in 3U, the entire city is basically lost to time.
Generations, World and Tri are pretty good as base games. Since they add something new like underwater combat, hunter arts and styles along with deviants and hypers, semi open world experience with weapons and new move sets along with monster fights that in the past were annoying or boring have been improved.

@MauhnsterMash Actually yes it kind of is. Both of the originally Frontier exclusive monsters in P2ndG aren't actually Frontier exclusive, they were designed by both the Frontier and main/portable team and thus, co-owned by both. Espinas on the other hand, wasn't. So the fact that they brought it over to the main line means that the pandora box has been opened.
Pyre Rakna looks like everything I wanted from the base version, a spider that sets its webs on fire. We had already seen flamethrower attacks, web attacks, and fire release attacks. Now it will have something that truly makes it stand out.
It's nice seeing Lucent Nargacuga coming to Sunbreak, he is such a cool rare species 💙😁
Yeah. We won't be feeling that way when we fight him, though lol. His invisibility will be frustrating, but fun to fight against. Wonder what skills his armor will give...

Hello! Second fleeter here. I'll be honest. I wasn't sold on Sunbreak and what you had shown so far. But after seeing Gore and Espinas and the Jungle coming back plus more monsters promised in future updates later you got me! Well done! 💜 I went and pre-ordered Sunbreak right away after seeing your presentation.

If Espinas is confirmed to be in Sunbreak, then that would be the 3rd Frontier monster to be added into the mainline games after Hypnocatrice & Lavasioth (the latter reappeared in the 4th & 5th gens). I hope the "Bronze" Subspecies & the "Platinum" Rare species make appearances too.
Second title update looks to be the white Epsinas species. Just a guess from the shadow and the fact we're getting the Tower back.

I'm so happy I was wrong and what better way to start it off than with the flagship of frontier. Everything in this trailer is more than I can ask for. Great reveal over-all.

Thank you SO much for bringing Espinas into Sunbreak. Frontier Monsters should make their way to the mainline games so that their uniqueness is not lost to time. Bring as many as possible because there are so many amazing fights that the majority of players, especially in the west, have not gotten to experience. Also give some love to Explore and Online. You guys spent the time and money on designing those monsters, don't let them die!

Do y'all even consider that not everyone wants to put up with 9 statuses on every monster's every attack, evade window being mandatory to play the game at it's most basic level, and full zone instakills on every monster?
Well in the title update there’s special monsters and that term was only used in explore so who knows we might get some.
@@DumDum5551 they can adapt the monsters into main series gameplay. And not every frontier monster is like that. Not every Frontier Mon is like Disufiroa and even that one is on par with Alatreon and such who in Iceborne had a zone wide instakill move as well
Really surprised to see Gore Magala. Curious how they're going to work him in without it disrupting the entire ecosystem. Hyped to see Lucent Nargacuga. Not only is it an awesome monster, but it has incredible weapons...or at least it did in 3U.
Mizar’s Asterism was busted (L. Narg SwAxe). Power phial with natural purple and positive affinity. If you could get a good charm for free element you could even get it to have poison (also very strong in 3u)
@@lordoffungi5387 Yeah that was my go-to SwAxe. Across the board the weapons had good raw, high affinity, and natural purple sharpness. The LS had 50% iirc, which is crazy for a weapon that's already strong.

This was insane. Getting to fight Espinas will be interesting. I was never much about Gore, but I'm assuming Gore also means Shagaru and he's gonna look absolutely freaking gorgeous. My most hype however was Lucent Nargacuga. I'm so happy I finally get to fight him again and I hope we also get Molten Tigrex.

Gore Magala? Lucent Nargacuga? Motherhunting ESPINAS is here now? Sunbreak is going to be my new favorite MH entry at this rate, and the sheer amount of content this is possibly opening up is too much to even comprehend. I've been with the series since Tri dropped back when I was 7 years old, and I've always wanted a shot at what Frontier had to offer. Now that we've opened the door to them, just stop and realize for a moment how many monsters and locales might see remaster in the future. I love this series and it's always going to be my favorite, here's to another great entry!
Espinas opens up the potential for so many more amazing monsters! Inagami Laviente and Disufiroa to name a few.
I think Laviente is a bit much for the Switch. Considering you need 10 Hunters or more to slay an entire Continent.

Sunbreak is basically Capcom telling the MH community yes. Return of a old map? Yes. New monsters? Got them. A Frontier monster? Sure, here you go. You want one of the most beloved flagship monsters? Of course. A bunch of free updates coming basically every two months? You got it.

I would love to see Nercilla come back eventually. I know Rakna Kaddaki is basically the same monster but I love Nercilla's armor and weapons. Especially the GS and CB.
It be weird seeing nerscylla without gypceroes considering it uses the skins of gypceroes as a protective cloak, maybe the subspecies of nerscylla since that uses khezu skin as a cloak

Gore was and is still my favorite monster in the series. It was one of the first monsters that made an impact on me during my mhgu playthrough, so he holds a special place in my heart. glad to see him back!
I sorta feel like if any game was going to add him, it would be rise. Since the game has the Apex system it would make s new if Gore's frenzied state is an excuse to make all MR apex fights be "frenzied" monsters instead.
That showcase was absolutely amazing and the roadmap tells me it won't be like Rise with lacking DLC content all over again. We all know that rise was intended to be released as it was with the 3.0 update with Valstrax

@@handtomouth4690 Only Capcom can answer that but it's at least what almost everyone in the community thinks because 1.0 was extremely incomplete
I think it was intended to have the Elders in base game but Valstrax and Allmother plus the Apexes apart from the 3 already in base were supposed to be updates. I base this on the official Soundtrack where the themes for Cham, Kush, Teo and Bazel are on the base album while Allmother, CG Val and the Infernal Springs themes came with an extra mini album.
Yup base rise had the most lacking dlc monster because basically some of them should been already from the start of the game (atleast from what i think), but knowing they just cut it means that Sunbreak gonna get 120% love on the free title update so we can expect a lot of dlc monsters (more than Iceborne). I expect we get 6-10 dlc monsters in 2022
@@MrCrypto137 so because it was incomplete people think all the updates were intended for base game and not only some of them? There's no inbetween?
That would mean Rise would have had no free updates after release, after doing so for World and Iceborne. Is that really the more reasonable belief? Or are you suggesting Rise would have had more if it didn't "waste time" adding back in stuff that was "supposed" to be in base game, and therefore taking up free update slots for other things. If so, that would be some extreme speculation on CAPCOM's intentions.

I love the Jungle locale. Who else hopes for more monsters in the game for the locale like congalala.
I wouldn't say no to either Legiacrus, Glavenius, Duramboros, Garuga or Congolala. All of them appear in the Jungle in GU.
Rest of the map im either way about it, but the smol island at the back will always be my favorite area to fight monsters in :3

@@bicycle_1358 I was actually kind of hoping that they would expand on it and make it much more interesting, or basically improve on it, especially with the monsters we have in the expansion, now, it would have been so much more interesting now, plus it feels off for the rampage to be exclusive to just base rise(not to mention the apexes), to me it's like if monster hunter tri had the underwater combat, but the g rank expansion completely disregarded it

@@htfs493 Because he's a great and beloved flagship monster (In fact, he's even my favorite and very reason of why my pfp is his Abyssal variant)that deserves to return. The problem is that he was made around the mechanics of Tri, so to actually get to fight him as we should the water combat (renewed of course) would have to come back as well. This would also allow to monsters like Gobul, Plesioth (with possibly its signature shoulder tackle as a strong chargable move as a gag like they've done in WoR) and Miralis to return, in addition to let monsters introduced after Tri that could fit that environment to also experience it for the first time. Monsters like Zamtrios or Somnacanth, for example. If we had to bring him back without it, it would feel like it did in Gen, which didn't, in fact, felt complete. We just need to wait at least one more game and they'll surely bring the water combat back and Lagiacrus&Co. with it.

4U was the game that got me hooked, so I’m thrilled both Seregios and Gore Magala are back.
But holy crap I did not expect them to give us a Frontier monster, and easily the one I wanted most to make the jump to the main series. Love Espinas’ thorn aesthetic and can’t wait to hunt it.
I'll admit, I started falling out of Monster Hunter, I wasn't a fan of the direction the series was taking, but this, THIS, just blew me away. It feels like Monster Hunter got it's soul back. I think Sunbreak might end up being my favorite game in the series, and that's saying something
Its always been the sane tho, there was no different direction.

Im honestly incredibly happy with what they are doing and are taking incredible steps for the future of the franchise with introducing a frontier monster World2 is looking more and more promising and the creativeness is getting larger and larger

Same here. I'll admit, I started falling out of Monster Hunter, I wasn't a fan of the direction the series was taking, but this blew me away. It feels like Monster Hunter got it's soul back. I think Sunbreak might end up being my favorite game in the series, and that's saying something

Even though I never played MH before, the fact that I screamed when I saw the frenzy shadow and Gore Magala just crashing into battle truly shows how long I've known MH.

Rise might have some issues with it's difficulty being a bit too easy. But at least it's a functional game which is more than I can say about the earlier entries in the series.

It seems that magma almudron will be similar to agnaktor, so I don't think he will make it, but for zamtrios it's still possible

I was really on the fence about Sunbreak. Rise brought great ideas to the table but had plenty of issue with execution. That, and we hadn't seen much of this expansion and it's not like European style fantasy is lacking in quantity.
But damn, my favorite monster of all time, my favorite RARE species of all time, one of the most iconic frontier fights, the Jungle map, AND promises of continued support? I'm back on the train! When the whole MH dev team comes together for expansions (i.e. 3U, 4U, Iceborne) they shine! Here's hoping to a great expansion.
We've seen a similar amount to what they showed of Iceborne before it came out

I'm still hoping we get shen gaoren, dalamadur, and yama tsukami (and ofc gobul) and since gore is in it I think it's very possible we could see dala return
Dalamadur is to iconic. Like miralis/ceadeus for 3u I think 4u will keep gogma and dala. Gore was already in mhgu so it was somehow clear that he would return someday. Espinas though is another story
But who knows maybe one day we will get monster hunter online 2 with all the monsters this Franchise has to offer

Astalos looks beautiful in HD, more crabs, a subspecies for one of my favorite new monsters, a monster from Frontier, and of course, Gore Magala.
Plus, Lucent Nargacuga is finally back after it’s debut in 3U, which I’m so happy to see.
I hope this means we get more frontier monsters in the future. Espinas looks amazing!

Meanwhile in base World we have...big lizard that eats things,,...gendrome but black and a lizard, ahh Lavasioth but wors..I mean muddy, ahh Pink trex that spits fire...
You see what I mean. Like, im not saying those monsters are bad, and again thats only really base World, Iceborne fortunately didn't have much of that problem, but still comparatively Frontier has more creative/unique monsters (dah of course it has. It as been alive for a whole decade).

I popped off so hard when I saw Espinas and the Jungle. Seeing Espinas in a main series game has been a dream since I started playing MHFU and learned what Frontier was. If anyone knows the fan dichotomy and backlash that was Main Series vs. Frontier Exclusivity, you know this shit is huge.
bro, im actually happy that they brought back my boi lucent nargacuga, plus they're bringing back frontier monsters as well as im pretty sure deviant monsters from the second title update's image, as they seem to look like deviant glavenous and astalos, since we already getting normal astalos in sunbreak, and we have yet to see the other 2 fated four, im pretty sure they're bringing back deviants or a ton of frontier monsters
or it could be the zenith monsters as well, perhaps they're adding new zeniths (though i doubt it)
Zenith won't get added I'm 100% sure. The shadows looks like mizutsune and espinas so it's probably a mizu rare species and the espinas rare species which was in frontier
I have never been happier in my life than seeing Espinas at the beginning there, it means so god damn much to my hopes that finally, after so god damn long, after the game itself had died that we are getting frontier monsters moving over into the west, fighting those beautiful bastards is all i wanted seeing them and now i can hope with merit!

I started playing monster hunter with GU, and while the graphics then were comparable to old Xbox or not up to current times, the amount of monsters and hunts made up for it. Gore Magala was such a cool concept and design for a monster- seeing him back in action just puts a smile on my face, his attacks look incredible (and incredibly deadly, I assume), I cannot wait for June 30 to come!

He was originally in the japan only MMO. Having him in a main game is huge.

@@alexanderthegreat6682 I think every frontier monster is great for the mainline games. You just need to work around them like replace some magnetspike/guts-counter-aoes with new moves and create new unique areas for like duremudira or even disufiroa

I have no attachment to these monsters because my previous history was only with World/Iceborne, however I'm glad so many people seem ecstatic that their special old favorites are coming to a more modern era for everyone to experience.

I almost cried at Espinas being revealed. It was the one thing I wanted most from frontier but knew it would never happen. And here I am, dumbfounded. And based on the silhouette on the updates we will probably get pearl as well. My last wish would be abiorugu but I am beyond happy.
They said "RARE SPECIES", white Espinas is considered the Rare Species!!! Plus we got Forlorn Arena to hunt it in, so it makes sense to bring that beast

@@dan_da5213 Kind of looks like a safety option to let you disengage the monster quickly since it happens relatively fast and puts some distance between you and the monster.
If so you could probably choose between a downward slam or that depending on the situation.
