So many forgeiners think UNT is this mega prestigious school. Its just a normal university with a handful of noteable allumni nobody has ever heard of. They will accept ANYBODY to their program because they love money. Its nothing special, its a typical University. Cost about the same as UTA. $5k~ per semester undergrad. Estimated Average Cost of Attendance = Tuition & Fees + Housing & Food + Books & Supplies + Transportation + Personal Costs: Undergrad: $27k in-state, $40k out of state (15 hour semesters) Graduate: $26k in-state, $33k out of state (9 hour semesters)

Be sure to talk to everyone in the spectrum, don’t get one sided opinions, do your research before arriving. In my opinion, it has always been difficult to get a job or H1b visa, earlier companies did not hire foreign labour even if demand for h1 was low, and now even if companies are willing to hire, demand for h1 makes it difficult to stay here. The only exception was during the pandemic when interest rates were close to 0 which allowed companies to hire just about anyone. So to answer your question, it may not be a wise decision unless your son/daughter have no job or a job less than 6-8 LPA salary. Don’t think of universities based on budget, because even expensive private universities can give out scholarships to compete with “affordable” universities. Look for universities that are highly known for co-op/internships.
