    Professional tailor: a quick tip on which fabrics this technique works for is basically mostly synthetics. Synthetic fabrics (polyester, acrylic, acetate, nylon) are essentially plastic, so the fabric will melt when exposed to heat. Natural fabrics burn: wool and silk will smell like burnt hair because there's proteins in the fibers while cotton and linen will smell like burnt paper and will leave an ashy, burnt edge.

    And to prevent the sharp edges of the cut can from cutting your own hands, build a smoother edge by dipping the edges a few times in glue that can withstand high heat. Or sand them down a bit with super high numbered (fine grit) sand paper.

      The fabric matters :) and the tip should be the smallest or sharp shape

    I use 60 watts soldering iron after using fabric side are brown and cut not properly some time and the edges of fabric so dirty .plz tell me whats the problem🤔 of my case.

      Ribbon should be fine 😊 make sure to heat up and use ceramic tile as the cutting board

      Anjurisa Thank you for your prompt answer. I thought maybe you had found some wonderful silicone wrap to help reduce the heat, but I will try the cotton.
