    I'm cleaning up my old pedals and found this video super helpful. For future reference, the bearings used in these pedals are also used in skateboards, so you can pick up replacement bearings from any skate store that might be near you

      This is incorrect.
      The bearings used in the pedal are R6Z, 3/8" inch bore with 7/8" outer rim, 9/32" width.
      Standard skate bearings are metric, 8 mm. They are close in size, but not compatible unfortunately.

      @@seanybabyy No, the bearings are R6zz and 626zz, Bones reds skateboard bearings are used in iron cobra pedals making them superior to DW. Dw uses standard poorly mass produced China products and claim they are made in the in California.

    The clip that you omitted from reinstalling on your baseplate is to hold the drum key that came with the pedal, FYI.

    7:40 you don’t actually need a book to convert fractional measurements into decimal. Just use a calculator. Type in the top number, then hit the division button and then the bottom number. Works like a charm. Yes. I was shocked when I learned this too!
    Example 1/2” = .5 (1 divided by 2 = .5)
    Works every time.
    3/8 = .375
    Boom.
    No engineering book needed.

    There's a slight "click" in your pedal that I hear (it's slight but there). I had the same issue with mine and it was the rocker bearings that the springs ride on. Had to order them directly from dw. Just something I heard in your video and hope this helps. Rock on my brother!

    how did you remove the nut that holds the bearings on the left pedal? I'm having a hard time trying

    • @4AcresandaFarmhouse
      @4AcresandaFarmhouse  Před rokem

      It’s been a minute since I did that, but I think you can use a Cresent wrench in the rod that carries the heater and then just use a socket to get in to the nut. I think I took a socket and ground it down a little so it would fit.

    • @Buliwy
      @Buliwy Před 6 měsíci

      Hey. It is much easier :D just loosen the holder for the drumbeater and then push the cogwheel towards the nut. You will get the nut moved outside. Before that, you have to loosen the small grub screws on both sides where the bearings sit. If that makes any sense.

    Hey man I'm having issues with my dw 5000, the left pedal has lost its tension

    • @4AcresandaFarmhouse
      @4AcresandaFarmhouse  Před 4 lety +1

      Are all the set screws tight? I would start with checking all of those, especially the spring rocker. It took me some time to get that adjusted back to where it was comfortable because I didn't mark it before I took it apart. Also, there is an adjustment screw at the bottom of the spring that will add tension to the spring, if this turns loose, that can also give you some problems with rebound and tension. Let me know how that goes and if there is anything else I can help with. Good luck and thanks for watching.
