- U2gigs.com - U2 performing Mothers Of The Disappeared with Eddie Vedder and Mumford & Sons in Seattle on May 14th 2017. A big thank you to Joni ( / jzcanuck ) for sharing this with us! Setlist and show details here www.u2gigs.com/article1162.html #U2gigs
- Hudba
I was there and this really happened. A moment of Seattle magic. No other way to explain it.
Oh man, when Eddie started singing = spine-tingling.
hjwoj so powerfull!
He really really.needs to do the whole song with ukulele
NOT EVEN JOKING
he can light up a microphone
I guess one of the reasons why Eddie Vedder's voice complements this song so seamlessly is, that in a way "Mothers of the Disappeared" and Vedder's/Pearl Jam's "Long Road" delve into similar emotions of rage, insurmountable grief, justice, and forgiveness.
vedder suits this song so good, its his vibe
Hahahaha!
Bono: Where is Eddie Vedder?
Crowd guy: HOLY SHIT
Nik Farr ...you are shit
Giovanni De Martino - I don't remember asking for your opinion. Next time I want it, I'll tell your mother that you're allowed back on the internet. Now go make me a pizza.
Maybe he meant it in a good way, as in Nik Farr - you are the shit!
Haha! I have my doubts because, well, the internet. But I appreciate you raising the possibility :-)
The guy in the crowd meant it in a good way obviously... he was star struck by the name Eddie Vedder... a legend... i'd react the same way.
Can't get any better then bringing Eddie V. up onstage
Eddie sounds great
I was right next to the drum kit on the smaller stage. The hair on the back of arm was standing.. truly an amazing night at the Clink.
Eddie sounds great!
He always does! ;)
Bono caught them all of guard , brilliant
I was unsure whether to see this tour, but I am completely fucking sold.... absolutely epic!
Damn. Eddie's voice...so good. Bono great as well
Eddies voice very nice
I was there !!!
It was an awesome concert !!!
This and Exit are shaping up to be the show highlights.
I can't wait to catch the spirit in Philadelphia.... but damn Eddies voice give me the goosebumps .. wanted more eddie! Hahah this is my first comment on anything I've watched on the new tour...to me it make 360 look like a waste-- I love what we are seeing so far...
Beautiful. El pueblo vencerá. Thanx for sharing
Guys any criticism should be held back for at least 2 to 3 weeks. Whenever a new Tour starts there are going to be some kinks, several of the songs have not been played in years. A few have never been played. Let's see after 12 to 15 shows, than I think it's fair to criticize. Just my opinion, I've seen them over 30 times and they always came through. Though I have never seen them in the first week of a tour. They will sort out the kinks.
John Hayes agreed, the second night was more relaxed, so by the time they get to NJ it'll be together 🤞
I was at the show and have been at many early shows going back to ZooTV, including the first 4 of I&E (and then seeing them in Dublin at the end). I happen to love the early ones. Of course if you're looking for a polished performance, there will be plenty to criticize. But I'm very fascinated with seeing a band figuring out how to perform songs live. Especially a band that's been around for decades. It humanizes them. They're this world famous supergroup and they're trying to figure out how to play their own damn songs. And the energy and effort from that is very different from later shows. Probably better to avoid comment sections though lol Because watching videos of the early concerts never captures all of that in the slightest. You have to be there.
Yeah fair statement. I would suggest to them not to play the album in the order of the tracks on the record. Ultimately that's one of the biggest flaws of Joshua Tree, the track order. All the big hits are loaded at the start of the record and there's a bit of a lull in the middle. I'm not saying the songs are bad, they should just be ordered differently. This is for me at least why I find Achtung better. If I were them I'd mix up the order and maybe consider dropping In God's Country. Joshua Tree is not a concept album and as such it does not need to be played in order.
Dr Perry Cox I completely disagree. Keep the order the same. That was one of the great things about the show to me. It rewarded fans of the album, not those who want to hear hits. Don't pander, U2. It's The Joshua Tree Tour!!
Jake Jenkins I'm not saying don't play the songs but Joshua Tree isn't Dark Side of the Moon, it doesn't have to be played in order. Funnily enough Joshua Tree has been criticised in the past for being a front loaded album. The second side is a bit of a whimper. Contrasting with Achtung Baby, the album is more evenly distributed. There's a more organic rise and fall. Songs like Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses and So Cruel are backed up by the Fly. In Joshua Tree all the singles are at the start of the record, bullet the blue sky follows. The rest of the album, while great has less dynamic contrast. It's enjoyable for hardcore fans who listen to all the songs, but not so much for the casual fans.
Awesome performance....hope to hear it again by the end of the tour. Been on 3 previous shows here in Santiago (Chile) with my wife and this time I expect to bring my little boy !!
Love you Eddie❤️❤️🙏🏻
OMG very special..nice!
thanks for the upload
Wowwww its perfect for his voice. much better than bono
Very Very Nice💎

?????????
You are little bit wrong. Bono didn't write the lyrics of the song talking about Madres de plaza de Mayo , he wrote it inspired in a similar case in El Salvador and Nicaragua.
PERFEITO.
los mejores del mundoooooooo!! Los amooooooo ! !!!
very cool
Thanks for this. Saw the ZOO TV Tour at The Tacoma Dome - this doesn't have quite the energy, but still rockin' da house!
I hear Bono rushed for a touchdown... :)
good stuff
The stage is amazing. I'm glad to see that Anton Corbijn is still capable of drlivering some really stunning images. This song though does not work since Popmart. Even though Bono's voice might be part of the problem, I think the rest of the band is also not doing a decent job on this. It's a shame, because for me and a lot of other U2 fans this song used to be magical.
Glad I never saw it performed live (videos don't count) because I enjoyed the hell out of this last night. I've always said that when after you go to a concert you loved, it's best to avoid the comment sections of the videos of it on CZcams afterwards. Unfortunately I never follow my own advice.
You should not care about the comments :D You had a great time, that's the only thing that matters.
Solomon - So you are basically admitting that you thought the song sucked, and that Bono's voice sucked and the band sucked.
Thank you for being honest!
Lindo d+!
U2 Popmart Chile - El pueblo vencerá

El pueblo vencerá!
Romina Puga I google translated it, is it "The People will win." or "The village will win?"
what a feel'in .....
When I was there I honestly couldn't understand bono saying Eddie vedder was there and was pretty lost till I heard eddies voice
Me too. I heard him say something, but I had earplugs in, then I recognised his voice.
Same I thought it was just me who didn’t realize.
HOLY FUCK!!!!
Bono's voice over powers Eddie
Eddie!
Where is Eddie Vedder…holy sh$t!!!
i was there
Woot!! I was there!!!
Viva le Gen X
bono jesteś bogiem,,,.,.,.dla mnie..,.,dziad
When did Bono start raiding Bruce Springsteen's concert wardrobe?
do you understand what "the mothers of the disappeared" means?
He sang that better than Bono! However; the "oh, oh, oh" part, at the end, just didn't work for me.
I was at this show and there was this drunk guy right behind me about to punch this girl. This happened right as Eddie came on so I didn't get to enjoy him as much as I would've liked to because I was preoccupied with the drunk guy behind me. Awesome show though.
LOL 1:08
Eddie Vedder should just sing all these songs instead.
He sounds great but he'd never do the parts of the show that separate it from the lame concerts that Pearl Jam puts on. He thinks he's too cool for that.
Now now, Jake. That's one thing I've always loved about Bono. He knows he doesn't have a great voice (though obviously a lot of people love it) and he'll bring on guest singers who have better/stronger ones all the time. You have to be pretty secure to do that. But he knows people are there to hear him sing at a U2 concert. And they are selling out stadiums around the world so we must like his voice a little.
Oh, I'm a Pearl Jam fan too. Just trolling. But I've always noticed that about Bono too. He's not competing with other singers and he knows it will be an awesome concert moment. In the end, people are there to hear him sing. Plus, he sounds much better live than when recorded like this.
Bono doesn't think he has a good voice? Are you fucking high?
Brian, he does think he has a good voice. I said "great." And no, he's said in interviews that he doesn't think his voice reaches that level of quality.
Oh man ..whats that..Where is Pink Floyd I miss them
You are aware that there are videos of theirs on CZcams?
Then again, being a Pink Floyd fan you're probably not the brightest bulb.
Jake Jenkins You must be kidding 😂
Mumford and Sons are no Pogues
I thought it was Art Garfunkle walking out.
"Sorry, Adam. We want you to just stand there with your bass like you're waiting for a bus on this one."
Poor guy. I can't help but wonder what he's thinking during this flop of a number.
He's thinking "I'm the luckiest guy and have the best job in the world" just like he always is.
He’s playing his bass pedals
thats a song that can disappear from the set along with miss serievo
It's called The Joshua Tree Tour because they're playing the entire album. So no, it won't be disappearing.
You could of easily called them the "has beens"
Bono can't sing no more..
The hat - Bono knows the hat doesn't work anymore. It looks ridiculous now. It was cool when he was 22.
Eddie Vedder stumbles out like he was just using the bathroom and was surprised where he was.
Mumford and sons has got to be one of the worst band names of all time. Just by that name, I don't like them.
They're all standing around at the end like it's a huge sausage fest and they have no idea what to do. Everyone's looking at each other.
It's very early, but so far I have been less than impressed. It seems....boring.
I learned a long time ago that CZcams is fine for what it is, but it doesn't tell you anything about the quality of a concert. And going by people who weren't there in the comment section? I mean you have people critiquing Bono's headwear, the name of the opener, and how the performers are interacting at the end of songs for crissakes. I can tell you from being there that the main set was far from boring. It was a great show for the first 2/3s. However much of the encores were on the boring side. Beautiful day and Elevation should be trashed for this tour. If they want a song from that album do the extended version of Kite that they were doing in 2006. If they had finished the show with the new song again, it would have been an awful ending. But I Will Follow was electric. And before anyone says they saw the video of IWF and it wasn't that good, I agree. The VIDEOS of it don't capture the performance at all. Not by a long shot.
Vedder being Vedder...
If this is "blowing the roof off" for you then I can't help you.
Jake.
There were 20 dudes on stage that looked like they were waiting for a flight at the airport, DURING the song. I thought Bono was going to bring out the Mormon Tabernacle Choir next.
I have no idea how old you are, but I get the feeling that I was a super fan of this group while you were still in short pants.
From Boy all the way through Atomic Bomb. But from then on, it's been straight down hill. They haven't had a good song in years. They've had a few ok songs, and many, many bad songs. From what I've seen, the concerts get lamer and lamer.
Anyway, I'm not going to get into a lengthy debate. You admit you found 1/3 of the concert boring. To me, that's not a great concert. How much were your tickets? If I pay 200 bucks, I'd like to be entertained.
Also, everyone is politically exhausted. Most of us don't go to concerts to hear the singer ramble on about his politics. That's not entertaining. When Bono was younger and the band was better, he could get away with it. Now it's just irritating.
If you want a good concert watch the 1981 Germany concert. Yes, it was 36 years ago, but it makes one realize how old and boring they've become. I prefer to remember them like that, not the last 10 years.
"Executioner" - She did just walk out again, we need milk. Why do you ask?
Also, interesting that you call me "old man" I'm 10 years younger than the youngest member of the band. But you are right - I am getting to be an older man.
Oh, and I don't know if "bitter" is the best word. Maybe "disappointed" or "sad" old man is more fitting. But I might be bitter. You might be right. I'm ok with that!
So, tell us, how are you doing in your studies at Harvard?
U2 need to retire gracefully.Dreadful performance.
When is the last time you went to one of their shows
