If you’re entering the 3D modeling industry. Always have an industry standard software base (Maya, Cinema 4D, 3DS, etc) and branch out from there to more specialized side softwares like Zbrush which is necessary for quality sculpting. The competition for positions and quality is brutal within the industry but it’s not hard to get a job. There’s plenty because 3D in general fits the needs for a lot of digital demands in entertainment or marketing.
This is great advice
learning a 3d program is like learning a new language just how people do with code
it's great to branch out to learn different 3d softwares because it offers more job opportunities but it's most important to always return to your base software and master it as much as possible
quality>quantity
SelfCAD is another great option for beginners
it IS brutal and CAN be hard.
@@ito2789 no its impossibly hard. Cinema4d is okay for Beginners easy for beginners, MAYA is a Nightmare to use as beginners especially for students with Mental disability or learning disabilities.
I appreciate how there’s no ads, thanks.
I've been an architectural drafter for almost 10yrs and in a few months taking a 9mo 3D modeling course.. learning Maya/Zbrush/Substance painter/Unreal... excited but also pretty nervous. Always wanted to learn character modeling as I feel it's the next best thing to sculpting stone/clay in the real world. Maybe I'll land a decent gig somewhere. The future looks bright in this line of work, to me at least.
Hey gotta ask, how’s it been going? Hope you’re learning a lot and are confident in your stuff.
i came here to learn more about this industry and your video was perfectly informative for me. So much so that i search for something else related to the field and thought I should go back and like this video and leave a comment because I know it helps and its the least I can do lol. Thanks a lot doode. Perhaps my surfing shall return me to your channel someday.
Thank you so much, this has opened my mind to endless possibilities.
Character artists jobs are in extreme high in demand, but the demands height are fantastically challenging in this niche. Including IN Japanese Gacha games, the character visual appeal determine the sell of the game and grasp a large audience.
Thank you my good sir ! Thank you truly ! God bless you
useful info as always, thank you 🙏🏻❤️
As an Architecture graduate, I'm really interested in becoming a 3D artist for Architectural visualization.
It's super fun
Me too but on the landscape architecture side
My interest is same. lets try together.
Wow, it´s awesome, thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot, very useful 👌🏼👏🏻👏🏻
Excellent, thank you
beest video on this subject !!
someone made 3d printing animation in 3d software..... wow.... that blows my mind, how is that even possible
Nice info
Thank you! :D
Nice, thanks.
Obrigado pelo vídeo!
love your videos man
Visualisation artist 🎨 that sounds good.
i am a Prodct Designer... and at least in my field (Glassware) the visualisation of new glasses is often, saddly, an afterthought.
Extremely useful! Thanks
I learned Lightwave and got kinda okay at it. This was before they went all node based. I cracked open LW a couple years ago and was LOST! I could still model just fine, but all the new node based workflow were impossible to just pick up. Now with LW coming back and my new job I have an opportunity to do some 3d printing work. Should I jump back into LW or use something else?
I will add BIM too...Building Information Modeling. Huge trend.
Please make a video related to different types of concept artist jobs.
Very informative video. can you please guide further step by step process to become a professional 3D modeler?
These jobs are all amazing and have such vast possibilities - but does anyone else just HATE the environments and offices being shown? That is not the dream .. would it be more beneficial to freelance to be able to work from anywhere? Or is that harder and do companies like to have 'in house' instead?
this is what im mostly worried about, in order for me to work for a good, well established company i might need to consider moving continents and that would really really suck. working from home would be a dream, and realistically the same thing, and so much better than just sitting in a cubicle.
well, I'd imagine it'd be a lot more cohesive to use a company PC for ultrahigh-res assets and be using workstations with 128gb of vram and 64 cores and 1tb of ram to make the most photorealistic scenes.
it sucks doing 3d for more than 7 hours a day, even 7 hours constantly focusing on small details on screen and with employer coming with question like, yeah I know you need a week for this, but can we do it in 2 days, you do it in 2 days with overtimes and then employer expects you to do it in 2 days every time, consider that before going into this industry...
Thanks bro
Thank U
I am learning 3d modeling
I really thought there would be a spot for Vfx/simulations/TD. Nice video though, thanks for sharing
this is a video dedicated to modeling, simulation is not really modeling
Either it is in demand or it is a competitive field. It can't be both.
What I've learned from little success in this industry. The industry is in high demand for people who are high in skill, which doesn't come along often. That's why it's competitive, the standard for getting the job is super high.
@@normietwiceremoved it's not worth the bother. The top people live, breath and eat 3d modelling. You'd make multiples more money and have a life outside of work in another field such as software development.
@@SK-yb7bxIssue with that is some people are just more geared artistically than logically. Like anyone can code right, but are the people who aren’t great at it going to be happy making more with it and sticking with it, probably not. Passion plays a big role in motivation/happiness rather than more money.
@@xSTstSTx Not anyone can code, far from it. That's like saying anyone can paint or 3d model. From my experience, people who are good at art and music, tend to make the best programmers.
@@SK-yb7bx You're fried... With the resources we have today most people can learn to code if they put their mind to it and stick with it, doesn't mean they're naturally going to be good at it. I'd say I'm very musically and artistically inclined and I've dabbled with code for almost 2 decades and I'm still pretty trash at coding, it just doesn't come natural to me.
I have a prediction that in the future soft soft is going to have a assistant like ozone 8 or sotNice tutorialng lol
Một công việc rất thú vị ^^
I am going to college for video game design and development so I am very interested in becoming mainly a 3D modeler
Very likely
This is so encouraging seeing in learning 3D
But also interesting that as a 2D illustrator jobs are RARE really difficult.
But as a 3D artist. The doors open up.
Enters the A.I.
There’s a lot of demand for concept artists which is 2d, also storyboarding. Or you could combine illustration with 2d animation (after effects) and go for motion graphics
@@zdenekburian1366 that'll be true for every job lol. Actually where art is concerned there needs to be a human element to make art. Art.
Where it comes to everyday human life. 3D and art is least susceptable being replaced by AI.
@@daveson3D yes but Concept art is highly limited, like Concept art is only digital, no Physical Sculpture is allowed for Conceptualising in 3D.
Looks like a really cool career but Im not that good at Drawing also gotta be creative Ill probably try It
Motion Designers 3D modelling.
Creature FX !!
For me I enjoy texture/ material creation the most . No real interest in modeling , targeting creating those awesome looking textures
texture artists are rock stars fr fr .
Could you do one for 2d?
Most demand best software
Can we learn all these things in under one course I mean 3D modelling courses teach us all these in one courses or we should enroll in different different courses.
Alias modelers have the highest salary in all of car design, start around 100k easily get your base salary around 150k.
Really? Is it a very saturated field?
Hello sir I am a 3d artist & spacialist in 3d render.i request if there is any home base job for realistic render then allow me thanks
I really hope I can get 3d modeling job soon.
Did you get one?
Seems too good to be true
Everytime I hear your voice, I keep thinking I'm listening to an interview by Max Verstappen
hahaha
Great content, mate. Would you mind me asking where your accent comes from..?
He is Egyptian (Africa)
Why the 3D Product Artist is very low in demand for future ?
can I know source for the thumbnail u use?
Hi i have a question. I'm intrested in interior modeling do I have to know the exterior modeling as well?
Just learn to use the programs you are interested in
Competing with Indians and their 200$ salaries, this field is becoming a joke.
sad but true
OMG!!
Any info on how to find these job offers? Im kinda lost on how to actually look for a job
When we learn the job, the offers won't be a problem...
Linkdin ( i guess)man it's a job recruiting site
Create a portfolio and start applying the jobs in LinkedIn
What about props ?
And there are so many more jobs for 3D artist...
I notice you didn't talk much about the Product or Industrial design Industry. They are the Gods of the industry: Aircraft Designers and Engineers (using CATIA, Autodesk Inventor Pro, Solidworks and Master CAM. These people are manufacturing experts creating products to print scale. Their pay scale ranges from $98,500 - to $156,000. You never talk about this; also you you left out CMM (Computer Micro Measure) CAD Model Base Programming. This field is so big we all must share. Anyway nice video.
Me still searching for job that allow me to create 3D Assets
Hi all, what are the name of the 3D Software tools in character and environment and asset artist on the videos? 0:21, 0:50, 1:01, 1:05, 1:33, 1:40 and Architectural Visualisation ? Thanks.
For the architecture field, I guess you can use 3D Max and Lumion.
Zbrush, Blender, Maya and I think the others are substance painter
What about medical animations ? It's not common ?
I wonder the same!
Hi.
I am intersted to get a job of Environment Artist.
I wanted to if Blender and 3dsmax are good softwares to learn and if it can help me get a good job in the Indestry or should i learn maya only?
blender is free and a very good software
3ds max is a good software to use but feels limited in my opinion
i thought i was watching a riot games video when you showwed jax
✅✅✅
What specs of laptop/computer do you recommend to go along with these jobs?
It depends on the field of interest
If you planning to go for animation you need really high end specs. But for smaller product such as creating models for hyper-casual games, you may use average specs like ryzen 5 2600 or smth
intel i5 10th 8gb ram, 4gb graphic card
@@ortolaobla no ryzen 5 doesn't suffice Ryzen 7 is the bare minimum because the Softwares like MAYA chugs along with Ryzen 5 memory latency.
Do I need some degree or school knowledge to be a model artist? I want to start learning it from scratch
You don't need a degree necessarily but you need to do some training and we have a lot of unreal academy training centres around the world who have connections with studios or companies to hire their students .
You just have to be fully committed to succeed
Hi I am interested in doing 3d character modeling as a job. So how should I make my portfolio which is industry standard? Please reply.
Maya for modeling, zbrush for sculpting, 3D substance painter for textures
Show 2D sketches and concept art too. Important to show you know anatomy and can draw
Do a character line up. For a simple portfolio you want at least 2 preferably 3 min characters. Try stylised and realistic. Do different sexes, ages, shapes, styles, themes, hand painted textures.
Bonuses: show an understanding of unity/unreal/a game engine. Show a character in the engine.
If you’re new to 3D modelling it will realistically take up to a year practice to get a intern job.
@@oliviaj9037 thanks for the detailed information.☺️
@@oliviaj9037 how many models shall I keep in my portfolio?
@@antarasengupta4005 do you want me to give you a portfolio critique? Im trying to get into the industry too
I just want to learn 3D art for 3D printing. 🤷
I need a simple 3D video.. 2 minutes long. Can you assist at a cost?
You forgot the fashion industry
2D is a no, no because of AI... so, it's about time for me to learn again.

Can anyone suggest a art school for Digital Artist’s?

Can you tell me Which software is used for making 3d modeling

What was the game in the first seconds?
Uncharted
Fine. But nobody wants to hire me :D
0:48 this guy seems to have like a 32 inch drawing tablet with a screen, could anyone name this model or something similar
XP PEN
Can someone recommend solid courses for Environment Art and Asset Modelling?
Want to know too.
Thiago Klafke's environment art course is pretty good
Is It too late ti star at 30 and finish at 33?
Fun fact: i started at 30 narrative design ahahahahah@creativebubblecat
Well, 3d scanning is improving dramatically as well.😏
What's your point
It can't retopologise. Gives too much topo noise. The point of modeling/sculpting is to create things that don't exist yet.
I use 3d scan as reference and yes it's help alot to make accurate models I recommend to use it
Turbosquid, artificial intelligence and apps will kill the hard work of learning 3d
What did you mean? It will kill de "3d modelling job" or kill the issues for learning this job?
AI seems likely to kill "any" jobs in the world, even the area (Software engineering) which is created AI. So, be smart and learn the something that would you put a good position in the era that you live.
Learn houdini then...
@@ogs_Boga1900 HOUDINI is a misnomer. HOUDINI is great but the UI/UX is piss poor designed.
You forgot 3D Generalist
And where is the animator?
In the Gamers' Basement.
As a 3D artist that have been in this field more than 10 years, Thanks to metaverse and NFT and otehr virtual items selling/buying maybe we can unbind from this shitty industry and become independent. Yes 10 years of slavery and just give me PTSD lol.
How does the metaverse free you? An you sell 3d art there?
@@LiziLKinks Show off your porto and try to impress the investors with your work. There are big names join in the meta for advertisement. And oh boy virtual fashion is the best solution for fast fashion, it creates no waste either.
