Thank you for the honest news update. My 1st year in Ecuador. Living in Cuenca. I'm out and about everyday. Feel very safe and well protected by the community . I a'm traveling to the coast for the first time . Early July. Originally from a small city in the Midwest USA. I will ride on a tour bus to learn the way. So next time I can ride my motorcycle. Plan to use the same safety measures I would if traveling to the US coast. With two exceptions. Not late at night . Not on roads reported to be unsafe. I have become confident in 99.999 % of the Ecuadorian citizens . I have accumulated many stories of my hosts bending over backwards to make my time here unforgettable . Thank you Ecuador!

I was just thinking yesterday how easy it was to eat healthy in Ecuador vs the US. I am still planning to make the move there within the next couple years. Thanks for the update. PS Like the new studio. haha

Thank you so much Mike - for some real Ecuadorian news.
Late yesterday evening, I was told the country was now completely locked off... No power anywhere and, no knowledge when/if it would come back again.
It helps a lot with, just a little bit of common sence in our world and, I got normal daily videos from Ecuador as well.

When the BBC reported the outage they included a line stating that Ecuador get the majority of its power from Colombia. Not true, and for a brief time, Colombia cutoff any exported power.

You definitely don't want to be on the highways at night. Another bus was held up a week or so ago--a big bus, not the vans that were held up a few weeks ago.

Cuenca is very safe. Better than most American cities. Lots of great hospitals there. Private care is very good. Thanks for watching
