      @@charlescauchi3507 Yes, but the simple fix for that hood release is to soak all moving parts with WD40. I've owned 2 Giulias and both of them had a hard time releasing the hood. I simply sprayed WD40 on the latches (3 of them) and the cable wire....and ever since that, they work perfectly. Its surprising they continue to come from the factory and are hard to get open. I had a 2017 and now have a 2019, both had the hood release issue, but fixed quickly by spraying WD40.

    Great channel and excellent videos Thomas. Thank you again.
    Fun story.. we've had Alfa Romeos in family for over 25 years. Some of them really broke my heart. I bought a 530d years ago to replace one of our aging 159's (the then main family car). This 530d was then upgraded to a 530e hybrid. Again, this newer BMW is another great solid family car; reliable, comfortable, very safe and economical to run. The local BMW dealership here has been fantastic. It really has been a brilliant car. I will buy another 530e again in a heartbeat as a family car. But, when I needed a smaller car 'for me' it was Giulia. Giulia is thirsty, noisy and has had few problems. The local Alfa dealership is really terrible. But we found a good dealership ~430km away. There is no doubt the interior quality / infotainment system of a 330e is superior to my Giulia. Even after having such a very good owner experience with our 530e I was so very close to buying a 330e for the work commute. But, then unfortunately I test drove the Giulia and that was that. Will I ever learn? No. :)

A lot of the owners are not really sporty drivers and they don't want to be making constant minor corrections at the wheel when they are cruising on the freeway.

    Somehow I think Thomas cheated a bit with the seating position ;-)
    At 1:24:33 you can see, that the front seat of the Mercedes is actually positioned a bit behind the b pillar in order to give Thomas enough space to sit comfortably in front.
    When he moves to the rear however, it's quite obvious that the front seat has been pushed a bit forward, since the backrest is now parallel to the b pillar. 1:30:37
    When he tested the Alfa it seemed the other way around. 18:56
    When he entered the rear the front seats were pushed back quite a bit and you got the impression, that this might be the smallest car of the 3 whereas the Alfa holds actually the biggest legroom of all ( 77 cm, BMW 73 cm, Mercedes 71 cm ).
    So the test implies, that the Mercedes holds the most knee room in the rear and the Alfa the smallest.
    According to the measurements it's the other way around ...

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  Před 4 lety +2

      Hm, I have no reason to cheat tbh. I never move the seat from my driving position to when I am getting in the rear, exactly to get a good comparison. Maybe it looks like because of angle/perspective change. You can indeed have measurements yes, but the other thing is that the seat needs to be in a good driving position, and that really differs from car to car, e.g. how is the steering wheel mounted, how high is the seat, is it the sports seat (e.g. that very uncomfortable optional AMG bucket seat in the C43 we had there is way slimmer and therefore offers more legroom then the more comfortable normal sports seat!)

    • @mart_en
      @mart_en Před 4 lety

      @@autogefuehl OK, thx for the reply.
      I didn't want to imply that you actively changed positions to favour a certain car but I am also 1,86 meters tall and sat in both cars in the front and rear.
      When I sit comfortably behind the wheel in a C Class, the seat is pushed way more back than seen in this video.
      I do fit in the rear as well then but it's very tide.
      In the Alfa I had more room for my legs remaining, when the front seat was adjusted to my height.
      So maybe it was just a coincidence or weird angle of the camera but my experience was different.
      But thx for the video otherwise, it was very good as usual.
