- Well as those baby lambs grow and the weather gets warmer it becomes time to move them, now sheep, to graze on grass.
This video shares how we load, haul and then unload the sheep onto their grazing. They will move through the summer to new areas but will begin on the dessert grass of south east Idaho.
I want to thank Robert and Blake for their encouragement in making the video and their ideas. Robert you were right the shots from inside the trailer were great.

Very well made and interesting video. I thought it was neat how the dog ran into the trailer to herd the sheep out. You guys are awesome!
The dogs really are great help with the work. Thank you for your kind comment.
Our local news had a story this week of the busiest road in Idaho having a section being temporarily closed for a sheepherder that was trailing his sheep over to the Sun Valley area for grazing. Good work family!
I have been wanting to go to the celebration they have in Sun Valley in late summer. However, it always comes during grain harvest.
Great vid. I noticed the herder had a few border collies. That's what they do best, it's all natural for them. Stay safe.
They are good working dogs for the herder. Thank you for your comment.
They look terrified!
thank you
Just found this- very interesting to watch and insightful! I am a student at Colorado State University studying Animal Sciences and looking to get into the sheep ranching business and this video gave me one of many great looks into some "basics". Thank you, hope to see more of this and you've certainly earned a subscriber!
So glad to hear you liked the content. Good luck in your studies. We sell many of our livestock in Colorado.
Love your videos Emily.
Thank you. I am very glad you enjoy them.

How many of sheeps that u loaded in to the truck. Means max capacity of truck would be?
Max legal capacity is 80,000 lbs.
What is your portable ramps floor? Steel? Aluminum? Or wood? Looking to make one similar. Thanks
It is a wood and aluminum ramp
Nice video! How many sheep fit on a truck approximately? Lambs or ewes?
150 something fit in a trailer.
How many heads u got ?
2500
2:06 that a weird looking sheep
Yes. We have to get inside the trailer at times to be sure the sheep fill it properly. The denim coat on that one is for protection against the droppings of the wool covered sheep. :)
Where is your GOOD MAN JOSE ??
I do not know were he was on this day.
The dogs are a great help. The big white dog in the video is a Great Pyrenees. They help to guard the heard from predators.
Don't yous have dogs and if yous do where's your dog boxes on the truck
We do have dogs. The Great Pyrenees ride with the sheep in the trailer. The heard dogs ride in the pickup with the sheep herder.
