the main reason why the small vids do better is cause it feels more genuine, just a bunch of friends having fun, thats what got most of us to subscribe from the start
At the end of the day, we just want to have a laugh because we love banter. It’s what shaped the sidemen and I feel like more often than not the production value seems a bit detached but I get why they have such standards. 2018 and 2019 were the last 2 years to not have that kind of production.
Basically for anyone who's confused. It was all a joke. Tobi wanted to see everyone's reaction to starting a beef.

I think the ones that require less effort do better because they're more relatable. Take the helmet slap video, if you have a group of friends, regardless of all your financial status, you can do that exact same thing. But, the Sidemen holiday videos, or 10k mukbangs, etc. are not relatable, 99% of people watching can't afford to do those. CZcams was built to be different from traditional media, something that anybody can do, so I think the less effort things usually embody that core idea.
But the mukbang and holiday videos did get more views than the helmet one🤷🏿♂️

I agree with the statement at 7:20 as a small cretor myself i find it weird that low effort videos always do better than the videos you put alot of effort it confuses the hell out of me sometimes
from a viewer standpoint i think its the "low effort"/super produced content that gives a more friend feel. not like we're watching a tv show but instead a group of friends having a lot of fun. like yeah the high produced ones are great, sometimes they just arent what we like :D
Facts. Same with TikTok. Videos on TikTok I put effort into making never do well but videos I just throw up randomly always get the most views.

The less effort cheaper videos do better imo because people come to youtube for relatability, personality and banter not superficiality, artificiality and theatrics for example i generally prefer moresidemen videos compared to sidemen sundays like of course i love sidemen sundays and i look forward to them more but as for just sitting down chilling and watching a funny video i know i will enjoy moresidemen content is far more enjoyable for me
