    Capa came a cropper after he allowed himself to be enticed into 14. ...c4?!.
    This strategically split the board, allowing back to win the a-pawn with his queenside preponderance, but also prematurely overcommitting him on that wing.
    Botvinnik took advantage of this with action in the center, culminating in a clearance sacrifice that Black was unable to withstand. The second player's extra knight became a helpless spectator, looking on as the e-pawn turned into an unstoppable monster.
