Have We Ruined Power Tools By Making Them Cordless?
czcams.com/video/KCXGrwIh7TA/video.html
My crew leader always says never put the screws in your mouth you never know who peed in the screw bucket. He's a funny guy
☠️
As an electrician I've been told that too. Didn't pay too much attention to it until a crew said that all their staples were rusty. They found out a bunch of teens got into the site and pissed in the bucket
Dirt don't hurt but pee leaves a sour taste... tangy!
Wtf lol
I started out with the toughbuilt tool belt and it was ok. Eventually handed it down to my son who was just starting out and the I got the diamondback and love it. Most comfortable tool belt I’ve ever worn. Keep up the great content Vince
I like the rig, Vince. I now Morgans Maintenance likes to run a vest like that.
My favorite tool pouch is a small 13$ maintenance husky pouch from HD. It has decent storage, a tape hook, and a velcro strap that I can slide under my belt.
This is a very good topic.
I have multiple belt set ups for different job types.
My first rule of thumb with my belt is light and tight. To much stuff in the belt just gets in the way.
Also, besides kitchens. When I do bathroom installs I do not wear a belt. There is to many finished items that can be damages, and tile work in residential bathrooms is a pain with a belt. Commercial restaurants, hospitals and hotels absolutely wear a belt. There is a lot to be said. Safety hooks and harnesses is an other one. There's a lot. Good talk Vince.
Some of this knowledge we take for granted but is very useful for people looking to DIY or just getting in to the trades, thanks Stephen!
Same here dude. Got a couple of belts ready to go , carpentry, drywall , dirt work n finish. Same on tool also levels impact, drills and hand held saw. Because u don't want to put a dirty tool on a nice finish even tho there is something in between them. And also lite n only what I need right off hand , everything else tool tote / bag or tough system
@VCGConstruction Thank you, sir !!!
@tommychong1173 True that. I'm not as young as I used to be. So, I use suspenders on my belts. Weight distribution is another important thing as well.
Respect for the 22 estwing and not titanium 👍
22 Estwing is a mans hammer.
Look at Vince.... ready for the first day of kindie garden 😂
😁😆
Randy that comment is Dandy, thanks! 👍🏻
Hello again, Vince and Vcg
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Vince my friend, I have made the same speech about Snap-on Tools and tool boxes. And Harbor Freight tools and tool boxes. I was speaking to a younger mechanic who was just starting out. The senior mechanics could only have Snap-on Tools etc. My speech caught on the new guy. And he brought a 52 inch tool box from Home Depot and Non-Tool truck tools. And saved himself a ton of money 😊 As I explained to him. You can always upgrade later. Again thank you
You definitely helped that young mechanic from getting saddled with debt!
@VCGConstruction
Thank you for the kind words.
Ten years ago I was introduced to Blaklader tool vests..... I'll never use anything else. Love it.
I love my Atlas 46 gear and clothing. American made. The customer service is great and can't say enough about the quality of their products.
I as well appreciate it being made in the USA, thanks Ron!
Thanks for the info! Good stuff
Any time!
Good reply 👍
I'm an Alarm Tech. I use the Toughbuilt modular tool bag and clip system. Very versatile and budget friendly.
Love your channel.!
Thank you so much!
Awesome info 👌
Glad you think so!
M12 tools fit handle side down in those metal hammer loops. I have two hammer loops on my belt, one for the hammer and one for the driver.
You talking about with the compact battery?
That vest is cool. And kitty spotted at 7:42 !
She’s the cat’s meow! 😻
You the MAN Brother.👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks Joseph!
That tool belt system is around ..... $700 where I live.
Nice belt brother but it looks like it would be hot on those summer days
Liking the vest!
Tired of tool belt pulling down pants or sliding down over pants…. lol
Vest is awesome
Diamondback 701 or occidental leather beltless will fix that problem and you can use your current bags and accessories
I can't wear a belt alone,no butt. I look like someone stood a frog up on its hind legs.
Hi Vince!
I'm into elevators and I use a leather DeWalt belt with various pouches that can hold a number of hand-held tools ( pliers, screwdrivers, bits etc) and when is needed a drill or impact. I place the measuring tape hook on the back of the belt,so that it doesn't get in the way of things. I try to keep it light but I am considering using suspenders as well.
I argue with my father all the time about using a tool belt, I hate going up and down stairs or even worse, floors in a building just cause I'm missing that punch or that #13mm wrench...
Go Vince!
Great Vid! Nice Rig 😮
My toolbelt varies depending on the job (I do a lot of Different Jobs 😅)
I love the magnetic pencil holder myself 😅
Thanks Redd!!
Tool belt only when framing or sheeting for me
Aww man thats all i do install cabinets but i cant work without my tool belt i go crazy 😂
How do you manage?
I even take my flashlight and pocket knives out because I don’t want the belt clips to accidentally scratch.
Got some occidental 7bag framer pros had em for 5 years and still the best switched the belt with a diamondback belt
Great content as always Vince! Personally i don't use tool belts at work, i keep all my tools in a metal tool box that i roll around on a cart, and i just take out the few things i need for the task at hand. I can almost always hold everything i need for a specific task in my pants pockets or bibs. My biggest reasoning for this is i don't want to mess up my hips or my back! But when I'm doing work at home i always wear one since i won't have it on for 8 or 10 hrs a day 5 or 6 days a week. Nothing is as good in my experience at keeping everything close by within reach! My next tool belt will definitely come with shoulder straps though lol
It’s good that you’re being proactive in taking care of your body, good stuff Josh!
Like the vest, the hanging straps look like safety hazards though, hate to one caught in an angle grinder or circ saw.
Yeah but Vince I remember “This Ol Box” from Living Color and he told us “when your poor safety isn’t important”
what do you do if you need to add hi-vis vest or straps?
I'm a suspender tool bag guy. I would feel like I had a straight jacket on with yours. But I'm 6'1" so they fit me good. Also I like my hammer 🔨 behind me. Your right when I was installing cabinets I never wore an tool bag. I tried the tool apron but didn't like it.
I got a few setups but I like the diamondback vest for interior work with nylon pouches best you an afford (I use occidental leather fat lip). The rig I use the most is occidental leather beltless reforofit kit (you can use any bags and suspenders you want) which is cheap at $50ish. Like many of us we like to put our weight on our shoulders to give our waist a break. No belt means the bags are never hugging you and even lay down on there back (not spill out) when you kneel or sit/bend over. By far the best setup I've had (occidental leather beltless retro kit badger framing bags and occidental leather Stronghold suspenders. The best advice I can give you is to run with the bare minimum less weight the better I don't care how young you are! Badgers vs full ocl leathers is a pound easy and you feel the difference.
Is that a bulletproof vest? Good video Vince. 👍
Minus the plates! 🤣
Shoot, I have steel, concrete forms and rebar, dirt work, all different including one for a harness to connect steel, sheet steel too, so 3 different bags fron light to heavy duty depending on what I'm doing.
Occidental Leather
I wear an Occidental belt with suspenders. My belt is barely attached to me because of the suspenders. I also have their vest so I don't need to have the belt at all
VCG construction Vince what's very nice set up but I'm electrician what wood it be for as
How do you usually roll Moises? Kaaabbbboooom!
As a carpenter a good quality tool belt is worth it like diamondback badgers occidental if you’re a leather guy ik the price will shock you at first but its worth it and they have tool pouches especially for your trade
had a boss who wanted me to wear a 3 pocket apron and carry a couple tools in my pockets, because a belt just slows you down. he was right. I could run out to the truck for the tools I needed a lot faster if I didn't have them in my tool belt. funny thing is he invariably showed up on the job site after I'd made the fifth or sixth trip to the truck and put the tool belt on, because all the tools had been transferred to my pockets and were pulling my pants down. I no longer work for that company. I also no longer need as many tools at a time, because I finish the phase instead of leaving it for the next guy.
i subscribing cuz this guy funny
Hmmm that looks alot like a tactical vest and a police/ tactical duty belt
For a good tool belt check out Perkins Builder Brothers’ tool belt!!
Vince de pencil pull works better if you put a key chain carabiner on it , so you can clip it to your pants belt loop. So your pencil doesn't hit you in the face or neck when you let it go. And thanks for showing me that tool. It makes it easier n faster because my pencil is always on me. Especially when your cut man or hanging rock. Thanks MAN !
Good tip, I’ll try it out, thanks Tommy
A good tool belt is essential
Even a cheap tool belt is better than no tool belt! 😜
My dad and I have been working together 7+ years (carpentry) I always make fun of his pencil pull and he says I'll eventually come around to the idea as I get older lol
Pops is a smart guy… you’ll see! 😜
I use cargo pants and toughbuilt hook. More then enough space for everything i need. The toughbuilt pouch was a great change for my work. If i needed more space i would get something else but the toughbuilt pouches have been perfect.
Ayyy if it works for you, what kind of work do you do?
@VCGConstruction low voltage. Mostly need my all in 1 crimp tool. Cuters/strippers. Klien 11 in 1. Pliers . I have tape measuresin my pockets always 2 .(Stanley's) markersand tape.. I do alot of crawl space work so big toolbelts will get me stuck.
@@VCGConstruction the toughbuilt mods are really great because i can have different pouches ready to go based on my work.
I'm a toolbelt mafia boss...... Right, apprentices don't like them because they are too image conscious these days and would rather get yelled at then look "uncool". But 100% if you can get a job done by only going up the ladder once, you are the most time and energy efficient. A toolbelt is not a tool bag, that's what a tool bag is for. If you know the task, put the required tools in your belt and get the job done with minimal timewasting. Again, not stylish but extremely useful is the good old headlamp. Not only do they free up one hand over a conventional torch, they also don't need adjustments like say one of the free standing torches when working. You don't typically leave/lose them in ceiling spaces as they're on your noggin, but the light is always pointed at what you're working on.
How very true on the headlamp!!!
Over the last 5years, I've been upgrading all my tools to more quality stuff.
That said,i was using nitecore torches. And I misplaced them more times that i could count. I am lucky that my work dictates monthly visits,so i usually find them where i left them. But it is always a pain holding them with my hand or many times with my mouth.
It all got easy with the headlamp!
They make super flashlights now with 500,700,1000+ lumens that work for hours. Life saving!
I got that same vest but I only have one bag and hammer hook on the back in the middle I have my pencil pull on the ring at the end of my shoulder strap. In my one pouch I keep my flush cut dikes combo square punch and pry tool which is a 3" bent paint scraper. I call it my spatula. Cause that's what it looks like. My knife is the 6in1 Mill fastback with the screw driver I keep hooked in my right pocket. Everything else has hooks drills guns etc. But I never ware it. Why cause I'm a finish Carpenter. The only time I use it is when I'm going to be on a ladder over 20' hanging crown. Other than that everything can fit in my pockets. I also agree about not having a bag on around cabinets. Got chewed out once for it told um why. He blew me off did an about face and his hammer scratch clear across the face of the cabinets. I just looked at him and said that's why. Me 😏 him 😯 FML.
Do they have a pouch for electricians?
Yes
Some jobs a tool belt a must some times they will cost you money .
7:45 kitty!!
Tool belt who needs a tool belt yah just need a hammer holder and empty pockets and your pants can fall down all day just like me 😂
Look at the job…. Take what ya need with ya. I prefer clip on pouches.
What does your load-out usually consist of?
That atlas belt sucks
Yeah it’s awesome, glad you like it!
Looks hot.
I am very upset that the video ended
But they keep going!
That vest looks uncomfortable
Why would you think?
