    Serenoa is the MVP on this game, he actually figured out how balance is important between convictions and how he manage to follow the same path his father followed in order to stop the Second Saltiron war, helping Frederica, Roland and Benedict to realize that they have to put aside their own egos and not to be hasty with their own ideals.
    Idore being the real main antagonist while avoiding the plot twist, I didn't expect for him using a doll to pose it as the hierophant which is quite the same to use idols in real life was quite the arrow to the score and the Final battle was really intense.
    Frederica finally freeing her people despite using methods against her way of thinking, Roland finally taking responsibilty as King of Glenbrook and Benedict showing remorse and shame over his actions, a side that he ain't show very often is excellent.
    Overall this game is excellent, a great tribute to Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre using Octopath Traveler art style, one of the best history games based of war conflicts, great character development, it helps you realize what kind of convictions you really have in game and in real life (I have a pretty good balance between the three, Altough Morality is my highest by a little), incredibly balance between difficulties, excellent soundtrack and pretty good game mechanics and a reminder why I fucking hate religions and politicians (my opinion), my only complain is that there is not a lot of variety of enemies and places like in both FFT and TctOgr and having no more interaction between party members aside from their respective story quotes.
    In my opinion this game deserves Best RPG of the year and perhaps Game of the Year
    Final SCORE: 9.3/10
    PS: Next game with this art style, I want a sequel or a Diablo like type of game, it will fit very well.

      Srpgs have been niche in the gaming community. I should know. I grew up playing Shining Force games in the 1990s before Square games were released in Europe.
      I consider 800,000 sales to be a resounding success for the title belonging to this rpg subgenre.

      The automatons and Aelfric were powered by all the Rosellen dead bodies. That’s why the automatons have Pink hair. (either killed by Hyzantian soldiers/Saintly Seven or worked to death)
      The power of the Rosellan dead bodies is why the “Hierophant” asked for the Roselle under Wolfort’s protection once Serenoa was a part of the Saintly Seven. Just so Hyzante could have more war power when an inevitable war would eventually come

      Central power from one authority is better only if that said authority is not corrupt, and as “absolute power corrupts absolutely” we should never have it ever as we humans are not fit to lead (ex: stalin, mao) as a singular power.
      But it is the “perfect” ideal

  • @JohnSmith-ef2rn
    @JohnSmith-ef2rn Před 2 lety +3

    First of all, great video. Secondly, this game is great and I enjoyed myself immensely. However, thirdly - the final “true” fight is… a bit too much “ANIME FIGHT!!!” I know it was a fantasy world with magic and whatnot, but for the MOST part, it was pretty grounded. This final fight kicks it up to a somewhat silly level with magic dolls and a giant priest with the robo-voice who is immortal and has, as EVERY SINGLE ANIME VILLAIN EVER, turned himself into a god or a higher being or what have you.
    Look, I like anime, and I like JRPGs - but I am getting a teensy bit tired with the final villain almost always being a god, or an “ascended being”. Like, look at the Persona games. Love them to bits. But let’s be honest - you KNOW Persona 6 is going to end with you KO-ing a False God. You just know it. Whatever enemy that is introduced, it’s always going to be a God you have to ANIME FIGHT!!! At the end.

    • @Deadflower20xx

      It's honestly hard to write a story that doesn't get to that point without it being underwhelming. Think about it, what superhero movie ends without a huge climax against someone evenly matched or has obtained near godly power? You can't really make a climax purley of words or ideals when most of the game is fighting and conflict. And why should a final battle intimidate you if it's just some guy like the hundreds of humans you already killed? It's hard to write in a satisfying conclusion without it getting to that point when the whole game has you gaining magic and power that's near godly yourself. I will say it's not horribly cliche since it's not like you're killing THE god. Villains gain godlike power commonly but it's rare you're fighting against the creator of everything, Idore was still a dude who just got a lot of power. He's only a god cause he and his followers would call him that.
