I am no longer a Christian, but this sermon gave me goosebumps. After all the years of Trump worship and Christians conflating spirituality with patriotism, this is a welcome change coming from an Evangelical preacher. Guys like Shane Vaughn are conmen and an outright joke. I don't understand the psychosis that overtakes their followers.
Well, if you can get people to believe in an all seeing, omnipotent sky daddy and his kid that did all kinds of miraculous things...then you can get them to believe in anything.

@@sareeyemanusqaame8723 .. Trump is one of the pretend Christian politicians who will say 'God bless' at the end of a speech, but is not able to quote a favorite verse from the Bible (because he do not real know or remember any of it).
But still fairly harmless in compare to his favorite dictator, Putin, who answered Tucker Carlson's leading question about God's "hand" in world politics by saying that he did not believe God has had any influence at all.
So if anything, Putin only seem to believe that he himself is some kind of a "Savior" in a historical context, while having priests arrested or executed when they disagree, so vastly more dangerous.
It was alot more peaceful in the Middle East under Trump. Only once side of the political spectrum has pushed war.

Politics is not to infringe on establishment & practice in public & private religion. State is not to pass laws affecting religion but they will soon anyway no matter what thats their one world, one religion agenda

@@PS-vf8qe The Constitution is about law in this country. It was fashioned in opposition to "the divine right of kings" - who thought themselves anointed by God to rule. In America you can follow any religion you choose - and nothing can legislate differently. Thank God and the brilliant minds of the Founders for that.

Really? I am a born again believer and I don't agree with what this pastor is about and exhibits as "Godly" behavior! In fact, there are a lot of born again believers who disagree with this man's opinion on politics and Christian beliefs. The "Truth" that you are referencing is this pastors interpretation of what the Bible states regarding where Christians should take an active role in government or not.

As a religious person, I’ve been wailing for 40 years for any Christian leader and stand up and say politics and religion should not be mixed. This gives me hope that we may return to sanity in this country.

Finally a pastor that gets it. I’m not religious, but even I can see they’re not following the “word of the Lord”. Bible says “love thy neighbor” and they’re like “we need a civil war!”

As a liberal Christian in the UK its refreshing to hearing the real gospel from this preacher, I know a lot of evangelicals in America who agree with this chap. They are quiet and they tend not to vote! Hallelujah as they would say!!!

I only wish we could get this message out to the masses. I was mortified when my 85 year old mother told me that her pastor told their entire congregation to vote for Trump in the last election. There’s no words wrong enough to describe how wrong that is. MAGAs have to stop lumping Christianity and our government together. No one should be made to think that they can’t subscribe to one and not the other.

I'm a little rusty on my Bible verses, but there's a verse which basically says you shall not add or take away from scripture. None of these people who bought the Trump Bible has actually read it.
Sad thing is, they'll STILL vote for Trump.
That is a construct and feature of "Political," free choice as guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution. However the cliche "Becareful what you wish for!" certainly applies in the misdirected effort to reelect Trump!

And if Trump is on a pathway away from God, he is leading all his followers away from Heaven. It's YOUR choice. The Bible is a religious document of supreme importance for millions of people around the world, not just America.
Adding the Bill of Rights, the American Bill of Rights, goes against the very core of what the Bible is and what it means for every believer outside (and inside) the US, it's arrogant to a point that challenges description.
All kinds of maps, dictionaries, man's opinions giving opinions in study bibles and the list goes on have been added to bibles. My bible has a spot where my it states who gave me the bible, my ex-girlfriend...........oh my how could that be allowed! It is Blaspheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemus! LOL The addition of the Bill of rights changes nothing regarding scriptures!

My favorite part, and I think it's the most substantive and relevant part, is when he said, "Voting is not a spiritual responsibility; it's a civic privilege." I don't share his theology, and I don't care what he believes. He's telling the truth to his congregation from an evangelical perspective. I fully support his right to his religious beliefs and practices. What I respect is his lack of fear of the repercussions and blowback. There are probably wealthy tithers who will leave his church over this, but I'm willing to bet there were more people in those pews (and all over social media) who were glad someone finally stood up against the coopting of American Christianity by bullies, charlatans, and nincompoops.
Great job pastor. I said some of the same thing at my church one night during our prayer session when I was asked to pray for our leaders and country. I said during the prayer that we need to remember that as believers this world is not our home that we’re just passing through and our citizenship is in heaven not America. So he’s absolutely right.
I’m glad you said this about being asked to pray for the country’s leaders during your prayer session. I was attending a first communion at a Catholic Church last week when during a prayer, the priest says - Lord we pray for our President and politicians….. I gasped out loud! As a Christian, I don’t need the church leaders telling me to pray for politicians. Time to tax the churches if this is what they are going to do. It made me SAD!!!
@@djeanie4934 well if you are a Christian then I would suggest just reading the word of God. We are called to pray for our leaders and submit to governing authorities because they have been ordained by God. It’s an act of obedience to God to submit to our leaders. Many Christians don’t do this though and you’re not the first to take issue with praying for our leaders but I do pray for them and at the end this world is not my home. I couldn’t care less who’s president because Jesus is King.
This preacher is awesome, God and the Bible are not yours to use in the petty political disputes of men. Claiming God is mine to use and abuse is the ultimate blasphemy. These people have no humility.

I am an Atheist but I find this topic fascinating. I recently read a book by an Evangelical pastor and another book by the son of a Evangelical pastor. The first book says politics is poisoning religion and that is the main reason so many people have walked away from the church over the last 25 years. The second book details the dirty tricks conservative Christian leaders have been involved with and how they have corrupted religion. Both books say Christians need to get back on message and go back to teaching love. The first book is Losing Our Religion by Russell Moore and the second book is The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory by Tim Alberta.
His point is that the government and politicians aren't acting on their beliefs in the Biblr they are two separate things and no party has the endorsement of God.
Actually this pastor is the real deal. Preach the gospel and do what the Bible tells you to do if you are a believer.
I’m not religious, but as a kid growing up in the church setting, I was taught the separation of church and state… Mark 12:17, “Render to Caesar that which is Caesar’s and to God that which is God’s”… Government is separate from god… 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Separation of religion (or church) and state is the principle he is espousing. It is a sound one, and the two do not cancel each other. Humans just keep civic matters civic, that’s all.
Those in power leave religion out of it. Those in religion keep their religion away from interference in matters of state.
