Do owners of sports cars have small penises? Are men who think they have a small penis are more likely to buy a sports car? In this video on UroChannel, Dr. med. Dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock, a board-certified urologist from Göttingen goes into detail. In a British study, 200 men with an average age of 28.4 were divided into two groups. One group was given false information about body measurements and social metrics that lowered their self-esteem, while the other group received opposite information to boost their confidence. The men were then asked to multitask by browsing the internet and shopping online. They rated how much they wanted various products, including sports cars. The results? Men who believed they had small penises rated sports cars significantly higher, especially after age 30.
This phenomenon can be linked to the concept of "conspicuous consumption," coined by American economist Thorstein Veblen in 1899. Essentially, buying luxurious items can be seen as a signal for mating success, similar to a peacock’s tail. Interestingly, a 2011 study revealed that men perceived as Porsche owners were more attractive to young women for short-term relationships than those with a Honda Civic. However, this did not affect their desirability as potential marriage partners. So, if you can’t afford a Porsche, just imagine you have a large penis! Thanks for watching!
