Thanks, the answer to your question depends on the model of your GPS
LM = Lifetime Maps No traffic receiver inside the GPS
LMT=Lifetime Maps and there is a Lifetime Traffic Receiver inside the GPS
LMTHD= Lifetime Maps and there is a HD Traffic Receiver inside the GPS
LMT-S= Lifetime Maps but it needs a smartphone Link for Lifetime Traffic.
I've never used a GPS . Getting a refurbished Drive 52 with US/Canada maps. Will this cord work with this unit? No traffic or any bells and whistles, just getting me from point a to b, & I think an hour of battery is not enough to get me out of Texas, let alone to Minnesota. Thank you for your generous info.
Greetings, yes indeed this will work in your Garmin Drive 52, however you need to make sure your vehicle has a USB Port, as most of them only have Cigarette Lighter Ports.

Hi, some versions of the Garmin RV890 have a Micro USB Port instead of a Mini USB Port. So what I will do is include a free Micro USB to Mini USB adapter with your order. It should work fine but worst case you can send it back for a full refund.

Thanks for the enlightenment. The cigarette lighter inside my car is down. I cannot use the original Mini USB cable connected to the lighter hole. What I need is a mini USB cable which can be inserted into the car USB port instead of the lighter hole! The original macro USB provided by Garmin can only be used charging on wall plugged USB outlet.

It only works on those versions of Garmin RV770-LMT which originally came with a Garmin TA20 Car Charger cable, because not all of them came with that cable.
Is there the same for the zumo XT 5.5 “ screen sat nav.? Also what length is it ?
The length is about 6 feet long, and it only works with those Zumo XT GPS units which have a Mini USB port for power, because some of them have Micro USB Port. If your's have the Micro USB Port, then you need to mention that the time of purchase so we can included a free Mini to Micro USB port adapter cable.
Will the BGI-USB1 cable with Traffic Antenna work on the Garmin DriveSmart 65? Will the GPS unit receive traffic data when that cable is plugged into power?
No this is not a traffic receiver, it is a traffic receiver antenna, only for those models of Garmin units which has a built-in traffic receiver. So basically it works for models numbers ending with LMT

Great video! Does anyone know if the Garmin RV-780 has an "internal" traffic receiver(?) Also, given that the OEM/stock RV780 battery is limited to 820mAh max (which gives very poor run time)... are there any replacement batteries that offer a higher mAh capacity(?)
The Garmin RV-780 does not have any internal traffic receiver, you must have Garmin GTM60 like this one www.ebay.com/itm/392569254922 to get traffic. About the battery you can use this BGI-USB1 cable along with any USB Battery bank for extended outdoor operation time. However if you are inside the RV you can use the Cigarette Lighter port to power it.

I do not get traffic when using a regular USB cable, as expected. Since I do get traffic when using the cigarette lighter charger, the BGI-USB1 cable should also make traffic work, correct? Thanks
@@danielbeggs8609 Yes that is correct, you should be able to use it just like you are using your TA20 Garmin Car Charger with the only difference being that it gets its power from a USB Port, not a cigarette lighter port.
I have a Drivesmart 55. It's Bluetooth won't connect to my truck's Bluetooth. Says they are not compatible. I was hoping to easily link my GPS to my radio, so I could hear it over the vehicle speakers. Any solution ideas? Is there a way to play the GPS back through my phone, which is linked to my truck's Bluetooth?
Try updating the GPS Bluetooth firmware by using GarminWebUpdater, not Garmin Express.

I have a Nuvi 2699 which I believe has the built in traffic receiver though your list indicates that it is not a unit with a built in traffic receiver. Can you confirm the 2699 has a built in receiver.
Only if the model number ends with LMT it has a traffic receiver. For example Garmin Nuvi 2699LMT has a traffic receiver inside where as Nuvi 2699, or Nuvi 2699LM does not. LMT means Lifetime Maps & Traffic

Hi the Garmin RV890 magnetic mount takes a Micro USB Plug, not a Mini USB plug, so this will not work for it. However we can throw in a free adapter cable which change the cable to Micro USB plug. To get this free adapter you must request it along with your purchase as it is normally not included. Thanks

Yes it should work just fine for the Smart Drive 65 but only for Power and Charge. There is no built in Traffic Receiver on Smart Drive 65, so you will need to use your Smartphone Gamin-Link software for traffic conditions and weather info.

You will also need an adapter changing the Micro USB plug to Mini USB Plug, because your GPS takes a Micro USB charger. Also the cord is only 6.5 feet, with the extension plug it will be 6.8 feet.

Hi, as far as I know the Garmin Camper 890 MT has a Micro USB port, not Mini USB port. So this cable will not even fit on that model.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 Hi the 890 does a micro usb direct into the unit but it is designed to work in magnetic mount when in vehicle which does have a mini usb connection. So the replacement cable will fit into the mount ok. Will work though?.
@@MrJasdog107 Yes if it fits on the Magnetic mount it will work as long as your vehicle USB Port supports 2.0 AMP. Since the 890 is a large GPS it requires at least 2 Amperes to operate at full brightness. If your car Cigarette lighter port is only 1 Amp the GPS will still work with this cable but the screen brightness can't go to the max, and it will not charge the battery of the GPS.
Will that give traffic to my gps even though I don’t have life time traffic?
Unfortunately it will not, the traffic part only works with Garmin's that have internal traffic receiver and they only need an external antenna for it. This works as an external antenna for that type of Garmin GPS units. This does not have any traffic subscription on it's own. Basically this is the USB Version of Garmin TA10 and TA20 traffic antennas.

Anything longer than 5ft? I bought a normal mini usb cable of Amazon but my unit keeps restarting with that cable.
The longer versions can be provided but they don't come with a 90 degree down angled plug. The plug is either strait or 90 degrees to the side.

Yes but only with those versions that don't have a 9 pin connector. Garmin made these with two types of Mini USB Ports, one has a normal 5Pin Mini USB port, and the other one has a 9Pin Mini USB port. The 9Pin version has conductors on both sides of the terminal, whereas the 5Pin has on one side only.

Only if it originally came with a TA10 or TA20 Garmin Car Charger. Not all of them came with that.

Tried this with Garmin 260W but made no difference.
That means the USB port inside the GPS unit is lose and the solder joints need to be refreshed, because this should work perfectly fine with the Nuvi 260W, and 265W
