Sugarcane container growing 2018 Year end review in Nebraska

  • My continued log of trying to grow some sugarcane in containers in Lincoln Nebraska. I figured I would make a little video diary to see how it goes and keep people updated if interested.
    I moved these outside middle of May so they got close to 5 months of growing time in.
    I didn't do as much updates this year as it was pretty much the same process as last year. However I did get better results from the second year plants. Which I have read that is pretty typical.

      @@billpreiss Yah I would be fine doing that, however not until the spring. If I did it now it would require cutting down plants that are getting mature but not quite there. The new plantings would be small and probably not make it through the winter even indoors.

    • @hutsadyk
      @hutsadyk  Před 3 lety +1

      I've noticed P and K don't really help. I go heavy on N and when I fertilize I use a N heavy liquid fertilizer like Alaska Fish Fertilizer in liquid. I use a fertilizer with P and K maybe once per season. Temps and amount of direct sunlight could have slowed growth as well
